Hand dancing, the hustle, two stepping, the freaky line dance from the top of the club and wrapped around the dance floor. 😂😂😘😍 great times GOOD times ( Chic, the tramps, Change so many more)
I also loved the Disco era, especially the Bee Gee's. I lived through it and never understood how anyone couldn't like it! The Bee Gee's music, I believe, will live on forever as more and more people with any modicum of rhythm can't help but appreciate it.
Even more interesting than the fact that they wrote and produced ALL their own material is their story of how they became successful and how many music styles they've crossed over into The industry wrote them off every five years or so starting in the late 60s and they kept coming back bigger and badder and reinvented every time!
This is one of the greatest songs by the Bee Gees and most of those individuals who say they didn't like disco, they were either 1 of 2 things, they were either fronting or just jealous. I say jealous because when you had a mass of people back in the late '70's blowing up disco records, it spoke volumes! Meaning, they (mostly rock and rollers) couldn't handle the popularity of this music. I don't see anything not to like about disco music, it was the s**t! Whether you liked disco or not, the Bee Gees was a great piece of talent, I'll tell you that!
I'm a huge fan of the Bee Gees. Never been afraid to admit it. 60's Bee Gees were very different to 70's Bee Gees, and is also my favourite Bee Gees era. 80's-90's Bee Gees were different again. 60's Bee Gees: New York Mining Disaster, I Can't See Nobody, Massachussets, To Love Somebody, Words, I've Gotta Get A Message to You, I Started A Joke, World 70's Bee Gees: Lonely Days, Run to Me, Jive Talking, Nights on Broadway, How Deep Is Your Love, Too Much Heaven, Tragedy, Fanny (Be Tender), How Can You Mend A Broken Heart Later Bee Gees: You Win Again, Alone, One, Living Eyes, Man in the Middle, Secret Love, For Whom the Bell Tolls, This Is Where I Came In, Still Waters
I love Disco too and The Bee Gees is one of my favorites growing up in the 70s, The world would still be s better place if we can go back in the 70s and stay there forever!
Wow! This was during the height of the disco era! Then, as quickly as it hit, it left the scene, leaving so many artists stranded, without a lifeline! Everyone thought the BeeGees were one of the casualties bc they were right up front¢er, if that whole movement, BUT, somehow, they survived, picking up the pieces & moving on to the next music scene. Nowadays, I don't mind at all listening to alot of that disco stuff, especially BeeGees of that era.😇🤩
Thank you for all your BeeGee reactions...one of my all time favorite groups! With that being said, I would absolutely love for you to react to my fav BeeGees song, “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”. Thank you and God Bless!
Damn, I wish you would've reacted to the iconic movie scene with John Travolta dancing to this song. Such a glorious scene. Another great Bee Gees song worth checking out, Nights On Broadway.
Such a lush sound with real violins and other instruments. I was twelve years old back then...seeing the movie with older brother and his girlfriend at the time. The movie wasn't too much all though there obviously were some adult themes. Even then, at that age the dance scenes were impressive. Afterwards I listened the album in the local library quite a few times not having own money to buy it. The songs were all over the radio back then.
Best line in the movie when he's sitting at the dinner table with his family and he takes two pork chops so his dad smacks him in the head. "Would ya just watch the hair. Ya know, I spend a long time on my hair and he hit it; he hit my hair."
Night fever... Been in my soul since 1977 and still is! I love it too and NOT ashamed! Great reaction my friend, let's keep going with more Bee Gees! Yeah! ✌💕
This song really sent their music career into orbit! They were enormously popular and successful before, but they really carved out their place in the mid-'70s during the disco era! To me, they were the best of this time....
The Bee Gees were the ultimate masters in the world of disco music (not to discount the other music they did). Certainly there were other artists that made good disco music, but the Bee Gees perfected the genre.
It"s the perfect harmonized, very fast and high pitched falsetto and vibrato groove, that makes them so unique.Nobody comes even near to their sound. It is simply too unique
Lol those people who don't like Disco are definitely a minority, look at any famous Disco song on UA-cam, they usually have millions of views, people still LOVE it, Disco never died :)
While you are in the DISCO era, it's time to send you down another rabbit hole with K.C. And The Sunshine Band and the song To start with That's The Way (I Like It)
The BeeGees are the only ones I like to hear sing sweet love songs. I guess they are sweet to look at, so they can pour the sugar on me. I love these guys. ❤️🌹❤️
Just have to add a second comment.... SKATE RINK SATURDAY NIGHTS.... I grew up on Navy bases and we kids LIVED at the skating rink on Friday and Saturday nights in the early 80's. This music has always been perfect for skating.
JB if you do not boogie to this you would not boogie to anything.Great disco track from the film. We used to wear a suit to the disco in the 80s,no casual clothing only smart guests allowed!Great times.
DISCO is one 1 genre of The Bee Gees. They started performing live in the UK as children in the late 1950s. My sister had a greatest hits of theirs long before the DISCO era, from the 1960's and I had 2 favorite song from that album: I Gotta Get A Messege To You and the song To Love Somebody. Later in 1979, My favorite song by them was Love You Inside Out.
This video was filmed in Sunny Isles Beach which is a suburb of Miami where the Bee Gees lived in the late 70's/early 80s..By the way none of those Neon motels exist anymore and have been replaced by highrises.
One of the most underrated bands in the history of music. Too many DJ's refused to play their music after the Saturday Night Fever hype for no good reason. In my option those DJ's are responsible for most people being against the Bee Gees without really knowing why. They made such great songs after and before Fever, which didn't get airplay just because of the anti Bee Gees/Disco that took place. Great that you feel differently about this and make reaction videos about them. Hopefully this will open up minds from people that initially wouldn't want to listen to them.
Yes, I'd also like to officially request a reaction to some of their earlier work; To Love Somebody, Lonely Days, and Run To Me are among my favorites. Nights On Broadway as well, kind of in between their older stuff and what they called their "fever" period. OH, and if you can find a video for it, Be Who You Are from their 1980 album Living Eyes. You've GOT to hear that one. The FULL 6:45 version.
Explore their 60s music when they first started. Some fav. songs: To Love Somebody, In the Morning of Your Life. These guys are my dad's age, I just love this group.
Just leaving a little note to let you know your reactions subscription is my favorite. Also, a little confession... I'm about to enter my 6th decade and I'm ruined for music of today. I was introduced to the greatest C&W music young by my Dad. My Mom gave me the gift of love for Pop and Gospel and I grew up during the greatest time for music ever, the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Seeing you smile listening to the music for the first time that I still listen to makes my heart joyful!! Head up and Keep on, Young Man!!
Man those songs will always be great. From a certain period in music but timeless. Here’s more 70’s greats from them... How Deep Is Your Love If I Can’t Have You More Than a Woman Jive Talkin’ Tragedy
The film footage is on Miami Beach and Sunny isles. Bee gees lived in Miami for many many years. These hotels are now gone but they were smaller imitations of the ones in Las Vegas....great song.
A classic came from the film same name I used to dance to this in the youth club loved it couldn't help but dance to it I didn't see the film at that time it was an 18 was too young the music from that film was great though couldn't beat disco just had to dance to it 👍👍
It's a shame you were not a teenager in the 70's. No other era new how to party and dance the night away!! I was that teenager and let me tell you , you have only scratched the surface on the music!!! Best time of my life!!!!
So glad to see your happy face, that's what it's all about. Back in the day I went out dancing whenever I could & sorry guys but,if you didn't get on your feet you didn't stand a chance!!!
Do more Bee Gees! You should also check out... Blondie - Heart of Glass Blondie - Atomic Another great band with a rabbit hole. They did punk, disco, new wave, reggae, even some rap. And another amazing voice. Debbie Harry is lead singer and you can’t mistake her voice. The older artists all had their own voices. Today a lot of popular artist sound alike to me. Not the case in the past.
The Bee Gees were born on The Isle of Man, England, to English parents and then moved to Manchester before emigrating to Australia when Barry Gibb was 12 years old.
You have no idea how HUGE this song was, and how HUGE Saturday Night Fever was. It was everywhere. Everyone was talking about it, imitating John Travolta, this song was playing literally everywhere you went for *months.* It was all anyone would talk about.
Love The Bee Gees my dad introduced me to them when I was a kid... my dad made sure I knew about all the popular artists and bands of the 50s 60s and 70s lol such a great song
The Bee Gees were so versatile. If you listen to their earlier stuff and the last of their music, it's so different. Listen to Run to me and I started a joke, their earlier stuff and then listen to For whom the bell tolls. Beautiful music. Also listen to Jive Talking and Fanny be tender.
Born on Isle of Man, moved to Manchester England, encouraged by police to go to Australia due to their delinquincy lol!, then back to England. Barry has lived in Miami for YEARS! So did Maurice. Robin had a home in Miami but lived the majority of time in England where he died.
James- I was a teen back in the 80’s ( even then, most teens weren’t into the BeeGee’s) I had a bumping system in my car and wld blare this song/entire album with the windows down, when we cruised the strip/hangout in town- My teenage boyfriend at the time would cringe- I just turned it up louder!!🤣 Don’t get me wrong wrong, I was also blaring Whitesnske, BON Jovi, snd all the other stuff too! Run DMC, Beastie Boys and all! I had and still have a wide range of music I love- Nothing wrong with disco! Don’t let anyone tell you any different, ever- Please react to “Jive Talkin” and “More then a woman” by the Bee Gees’s. I also believe you’d love a band called Kool and the Gang! Very funky as well- Start with “Misled” by them- Sending love always ❤️🤘🏼✌️
The 70's were a great time to be young and into music. Not only Disco but we had Motown, the Sound of Philadelphia, rock, Country, easy listening, a whole array of different gendres and the music charts in the UK contained a good mix. I remember hiding under the bed sheet to listen to pirate radio (Luxembourg and Caroline) and listening to new songs over and over to learn the words. A group with good falsetto sound was The Stylistics, try You Make Me Feel Brand New. Kool and the Gang - Celebrate. DeBarge - Rhythm of the Night. Diana Ross - Chain Reaction (which happened to be written by the Bee Gees)
A recommendation that keeps popping up for me is Dong Min, a young lady who plays the dizi (Chinese bamboo flute). I really hope you'll add her to your ever-growing list, the only way I can describe her song "Painted Heart" is that it's literally soul-touching. Many years ago I was browsing through a Hastings store, just looking at the books, music, and videos like I liked to do sometimes. They were playing some newer album, the music was okay but mostly just background noise. Then they put on the Bee Gees, probably the 2001 Greatest Hits album, and you could see the change through the whole store. People were tapping their feet and bobbing their heads and humming along, all ages and all backgrounds. They're one of those groups that have lasted because they can reach everyone.
These were times of joy and hope .
Today, the world is so pessimistic.
You can feel the mood of an era just by the music.
Even after 44 years, it's still the best selling movie soundtrack of all time.
Hand dancing, the hustle, two stepping, the freaky line dance from the top of the club and wrapped around the dance floor. 😂😂😘😍 great times GOOD times ( Chic, the tramps, Change so many more)

Brings back memories of my mom when I was a kid

That Bass line is SICK! 💥💥
another great song of theirs is Tragedy
yes
TRAGEDY!!!!!!!! That's my song!!!!!
Tragedy if someone never heard of it
Their best track yeah
It's not that they dislike it, they just won't admit they LOVE it! How can you not want to get up and dance to this! Come on!
They write every song they sing over a thousand songs....hundreds for other artists 🎨
Can’t go wrong with The Bee Gees! This song was so popular back in the day!
Time for you to watch the movie "Saturday Night Fever". The Bee Gees wrote most of the music for it.
haha yes!
The soundtrack was amazing but the movie sucked!
Im 50 something here and like you said my headphonesare my time machine nobody could have put it better, keep it up man
Got my new headphones and the Bee Gees sound even BETTER wow
The Bee Gees older stuff (pre-disco era) is a must listen to.
This is one of the greatest songs by the Bee Gees and most of those individuals who say they didn't like disco, they were either 1 of 2 things, they were either fronting or just jealous. I say jealous because when you had a mass of people back in the late '70's blowing up disco records, it spoke volumes! I'm a huge fan of the Bee Gees. Never been afraid to admit it. 60's Bee Gees were very different to 70's Bee Gees, and is also my favourite Bee Gees era. 80's-90's Bee Gees were different again.
60's Bee Gees: New York Mining Disaster, I Can't See Nobody, Massachussets, To Love Somebody, Words, I've Gotta Get A Message to You, I Started A Joke, World
70's Bee Gees: Lonely Days, Run to Me, Jive Talking, Nights on Broadway, How Deep Is Your Love, Too Much Heaven, Tragedy, Fanny (Be Tender), How Can You Mend A Broken Heart
Later Bee Gees: You Win Again, Alone, One, Living Eyes, Man in the Middle, Secret Love, For Whom the Bell Tolls, This Is Where I Came In, Still Waters
You need to do “More than a woman” by the Bee Gees
And Tavares, both great covers
Also, If I Can't have You by Yvonne Elliman
Vincent Schmitt - Vincent Deporter??
YES!
Yes, considering how many women Bee Gees have made, he should definitely do more of them. Just one would be too restrictive.
loved that big smile on ypur face
If you like disco, we’ll it’s time you listened to the queen of that genre, Donna Summer.
Dearest Donna
I concur
Donna Summer and Barbara Streisand, "No More Tears - enough is enough".
Oh yes!!
I love Disco too and The Bee Gees is one of my favorites growing up in the 70s, The world would still be s better place if we can go back in the 70s and stay there forever!
Yes. Indeed. I was in my teenage years in the 1970s. 💜✌
I was just a kid then but everybody seemed much happier in those days.
For the record, Barry Gibb also has a killer non-falsetto voice (Lonely Days, Words, Nights on Broadway to name a few). Love him. Disco is the best!!
Thank you for all your BeeGee reactions...one of my all time favorite groups! With that being said, I would absolutely love for you to react to my fav BeeGees song, “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”. Thank you and God Bless!
Check out their pre-Disco stuff as well - "I Started A Joke" "I've Gotta Get A Message to You" "First of May". They are all FANTASTIC
Completely agree! "Fanny (Be Tender)" is my favorite Bee Gees song
Clemdane How Can You Mend A Broken Heart!!!!
Ohh yess love the older stuff too.
Clemdane Massachusetts
Damn, I wish you would've reacted to the iconic movie scene with John Travolta dancing to this song. Such a glorious scene.
Another great Bee Gees song worth checking out, Nights On Broadway.
Yes! One of my favorite songs, ever!
Agree....NIGHTS ON BROADWAY is a great song.
V. J. Yep seeing Travolta throw his moves elevates it to a whole new level
Hey! You haven't listened to Jive Talkin' yet, have you? 1975; that started their whole American Black music phase. One of their best songs. Peace.
You can see Beevis and Butthead reacting to Jive Talkin'

Disco is one of the best genres.🕺
John Travolta walking in the streets of Brooklyn! This movie has one of the great soundtracks.
It's the biggest telling soundtrack ever with over 40 million copy of a double vinyl LP.
Best line in the movie when he's sitting at the dinner table with his family and he takes two pork chops so his dad smacks him in the head. "Would ya just watch the hair. Ya know, I spend a long time on my hair and he hit it; he hit my hair."

hi. two of their most beautiful ballads are To Love Somebody and How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.
Love your reactions. Bee Gees are the best.
LOVE the Bee Gees...and I love disco. Love how much you appreciate them! Thank you.
Night fever... Been in my soul since 1977 and still is! I love it too and NOT ashamed! Great reaction my friend, let's keep going with more Bee Gees! Yeah! ✌💕
This is definitely one of their most iconic songs! Although they had so many.
classic. production is out of this world. smooth and glorious!

Absolutely my favorite Bee Gees song. The dance scene in Saturday Night Fever that uses this song is very iconic thanks in part to this song, I think.
While you are in the DISCO era, it's time to send you down another rabbit hole with K.C. And The Sunshine Band and the song To start with That's The Way (I Like It)

Love this tune. …. It was the #1 biggest selling record of the year 1978. (There's and extended play down load available on iTunes.)
Oh man, such memories! My first high school dance was a disco dance and SOOO many of the songs played were Bee Gees. So much fun! :)
