This is another great episode. Reika certainly is a great "bully" character in that she is not really just a simple bully character, she has deeper stuff to explore, and that will come back again and again to show how far she has come. Unlike a certain OTHER magical girl series that tried to ignore all that just for the sake of retaining the status quo, and writer's ego. The other thing about the culture shock is that while I can understand the differences between being too blunt or not, I think it is all about knowing the person before trying to say something that may hurt more than you think. With that, I can understand Momoko unintentionally hurting her friends, cause she is new to the ground, and didn't get much time to know them very well. You can say she is being just her while in America, but she needs to keep in mind that she isn't in America anymore. She needs to learn more than just rules and how to speak Japanese. So meeting new people, especially foreign to your culture, will need to take a different approach. And for that, this episode is great. P.S. Ironically America has becoming even more softer that even blunt remarks, or even jokes can really trigger some people there.
every reika episode is a good episode, she makes for a good vilan reformation study but they also always touch cultural differences but it is also very interesting how most threads don't end in just one episode
I think the beginning was fine simply because it’s catching up from last episode but one thing I think they did good was show realism. Reika wasn’t happy about it yes but she also grew up her entire life there and spoke the language fluently. I think having little touches like the guy saying “she’s not bothering anyone” and the class sticking by her not only welcomes her to the class and shows they support her but also has that sense of community this series does so well. Not everything is black and white and I love how the series addresses these things. And it may be easy to use but remember these girls are in middle school and most of which never have cooked before lol but I do think you’ll like this season and the final a lot.
I don’t think leaving a rude comment (unintentionally) is enough to make you anything close to a bully honestly, if anything I think the way momoko acted is pretty normal a little bossy but nothing more but as you mentioned it all comes down to culture at the end
Honestly, I don’t think Momoko was being too harsh. And I think Hazuki was being too sensitive over being suggested to be reassigned. Calling her a bully is a bit too much.

Not even that, if anything, she was pretty professional. If someone’s clearly not up to the task, you remove them from that task.
@2:42 that got me lol maybe since you doing Battle Spirits reviews maybe Vanguard video lol 👉👈
3:48 I still have the racism clip from a later episode fresh on my mind, and it makes this moment of "immediate realization" even funnier.
Momoko and Yada get into a confrontation down the line too, which is amusing in and of itself. :p

Hazuki Best Girl ❤
leave Momoko alone
