You know, something I like about this Collab that I've just realized is that the Imitator is actually winning against most of his matches at first. He's constantly either beating his opponents or forcing them to retreat. It's not until the last few matches that he starts getting knocked around. And even then, in the big team-up battle against him, he gets a strong start. However, the moment he slips up once, it all collapses.
Imitator is probably the strongest stickman if you think about it. He fought against some of the most powerful stickmen all at once while he was injured and still held his ground. Probably why Hyun ordered to kill him because he was too op
3:31 the exact instant the Imitator began to lose. Had it not decided to shoot repeatedly at Jomm (I believe?) it may have actually won. But because it paused to shoot repeatedly, Oxob was able to get a solid blow to the back, and that threw off it's combo, and allowed for the others to basically stun-lock it.
Technically, it took 36 to take him down. The initial 12 got their asses kicked, then he took down the same twelve again, and got beaten when the 12 went in for the all-out.
@@AngellicRuby I know. I'm saying that there are 12 people in total, and they had to attack him 3 times to win. Just use simple math, and boom. 36, so it did take 36 people to take down The Imitator.
This reminds me of a fight scene from Afro Samurai. It’s basically Afro vs an android copy of him. The android is able to perfectly match and counter his fighting style but is also a bit stronger and way faster. Afro beats it by becoming unpredictable and random because while the android can copy and predict pre established moves, completely random ones are a whole different ballgame.
You probably have tunnel vision in what you can perform yourself but they aren't limited by that or your shortcomings so if they're smart enough they could always have the upper hand
@@hentaiprotag7122 That makes sense if you think about it. If you're correct about something, let's say being correct about a rule to kill in a world, that doesn't mean you're right in terms of morals since killing is wrong. But I'm probably overthinking that phrase.
The imitator’s last stand is insane, but the coordinations between the other 12 are incredible too, especially during that 12 vs 1 sequence. Continuous pressures, absolutely smooth transition, immediately punishing their opponent for spending too long on shooting, no one spending too much time hitting the imitator and a perfect setup for Dracko to finish him off. They’re legends too that makes the Imitator’s last stand more impressive
If you go to Shuriken's channel, he made a video about the production of this collab and apparently it was hell because of animators dropping out, which is kinda sad because this is his last collab
It wasnt because they didnt want to ruin it or they thought they werent good enough, it was just that most people had a lot of fast paced fights in the collab and they skipped some important "beeps" in the song. Shuriken had to tell them what to do and what to edit. Which some of the animators hated, so a lot of them dropped out.
The Imitator Collabs make me wonder: why does the imitator exist? How was it created, and by who? I understand Shuriken's done with animation, but if one was to pick up where he left off, how would it continue? What would the Imitator's reason be for fighting? Being created to defeat the others or was it merely self-defense?
I like to think it was born with its powers and actually went through stages of life as an imitator. Just knowing things without knowing how or why, but got into trouble a lot because of it. One day, enough was enough. If it was going to be punished for what it was, it might as well survive the only way it knows how.
Think it’s a training machine like the first one since they were in a simulated area such as this one as well cuz he was freed probably some bad guy freed this imitator creating a threat therefore it had to destroyed unlike the other on that was merely for training I think
the answer cant be revealed, because Shuriken never said anything about his background. and after the fight, there's an order to obliberate the Imitator, which take us back to the Imitator collab 1 where he got decapitated by Fordz
I like to think he is acting out of jealousy and that seeing all these incredible abilities probably caused him to become envious of others and resentful towards what he was given. Maybe all he wants is an ability that is all his own instead only being able to copy what others have.
maybe his existence was to destroy armies by literally becoming the ultimate weapon..and the sticks that were sent was designed to have a fighting chance against themselves
I keep coming back to this... I absolutely love how much personality they all have during the fights, while they're simply walking, literally the pinnacle of what it means to have good animation. No dialogue needed to tell a good story and portray the characters through movement alone.
mmmmm the letter says obliterate.... buuuuuuutttt we dun see the imitator being obliterated, that wll probably be the beginning of a theory. but meanwhile, shuriken stopped animating, that is a sign that says: "this moment is supposed to be sad, bruh (that's also seen in the context of the credits) so... he died. ._.
Can we talk about how the imitator tried to escape trying to defeat everything that was put in his path at the beginning and then lose out from fatigue?
It wasn't the multiple stab wounds, not the hundreds of bullets that may or may not still be in his body, it wasn't even the bamboo splinters that got him... It was the fatigue... These guys are badass as fucc
Well.. The imitator isnt a normal stickman All his weapons are parts of his body morphed into the weapon, and his body is kinda a living liquid? or something like that. Like a ferrofluid So the only way to defeat him is to make him tired of constantly changing weapons and body
No it wasn't fatigue. If you look at 3:31 you can see he was vulnerable at that point. That made him lose. If he didn't Focus just on shooting that other stickman he would've won
@@e.g2896 Yeah, so it's fatigue. If you can't tell, the imitator is basically immortal. The only way to bring it down is to tire it out, and idk about you but constantly getting sliced, stabbed and shot at and finally getting punched into a wall so hard it made a crater is gonna exhaust anyone. That's why he was restrained with chains in the first place, instead of being killed, because he can't die. If he COULD die, he would've died long ago
@@e.g2896 That vulnerable moment caused it to get even more exhausted. The fatigue was slowly building up from the endless fighting. Regardless, fatigue would've brought it down sooner or later.
i really dont like saying i have a favourite, because this entire collab is absolutely incredible, and i could gush about it for much longer than just two sentences. however, one part that really stood out for me was kixx6's: theres just something about that animation style that i absolutely adore
Fox is probably my favorite character here, partly because of his consistently laid-back posture and behavior. He is first seen just playing with a flame, and immediately transitions to fighting without letting the imitator catch him off guard, then at the end we see him walking while resting his head in his arms, showing he clearly has no fear or even concern about his foe.
Credit where's credit due. The imitator went down like a badass. My favourite scene is when he just gives it his all, and proceeds to knock back all 12! Fighters in a last ditch effort. Especially since I like to believe the imitator's weakness is rapidly changing forms back to back, sorta like how if you fire a gun continuously, your aim will eventually worsen and you could even jam.
I always figured that a person with the ability to perfectly copy or imitate others would be at a disadvantage when against multiple opponents. If they can only copy one person at a time, then they have to quickly change up tactics so they can effectively use their copied abilities, and fighting multiple people would leave them focusing maybe 45% on keeping track of all available fighting styles and strategies so they can adjust to every form... just thinking about it is very stressful.
Watching this really puts into perspective how powerful the imitator is. It took not just one fighter to take him down but more than 10. Truly the imitator was and is one of the strongest stickman.
3:00 they got to right idea Imitator can only imitate one person at a time so they decided to overwhelm him with numbers to be fair though Imitator stood his ground for a while Edit but it was quite clear he was having trouble
I really like how the final fight really shows the fundamental weakness of the imitator. A weakness loop. When imitating someone, he also gains the target's weaknesses. Like how a grappler is automatically weak against zoners, which are weak against rush downs, which are in return, weak to grapplers.
Thank you Shuriken for everything that you have made until this day. I remember seeing your animations for the first time two years ago and getting absolutely hyped over them. I wish you good luck for you as a developer and musician, and hope that you accomplish all your next objectives
In my opinion this is a better version of the imitator 2 collab on Shuriken's channel. The little changes made such as Serra, Sheim, and Lindsay being seen walking into the room for the big finale and the gun shot sound effects changed in Kixx's rapid shot at the end really made me feel more excited cause now I want to look back through the video and see more of the tiny changes made. Shuriken you mad lad, you are my biggest inspiration to animate especially synced projects. Watching your stuff since the original Defend the Diamond collab to now really brings a smile to my face. Seeing the improvements that tons of animators made throughout the years really made me wish I had a computer back then. Finally seeing Hatena and Core Adro in one of your collabs and be the reasons this collab wasn't cancelled shows me how far you've grown. From the older and original animators like Resh and X to the newer generation of animators like Hatena and Core make me smile seeing that after all these years you never stopped animating. This was the perfect way to end your animation career. Farewell dude.
It's cool that this is basically a prequel to the first collab. They capture the imitator here, then he's sent to the boxed room where the eventual death happens.
@@theeinertia4106 i think his skills are his strength, and while the imitator can copy knowledge of how to use a weapon by watching their opponent, One relied on his deeper, more rooted muscle memory of how to fight with his sword to beat them instead of a powerful weapon or attack.
Its been a whole entire year and yet this collab never fails to amuse me, the way the movements of the stickmen were synced, is just absolutely amazing.. And i stilllllll get frickin chills watching this over and over again... Kinda got sad remembered that this was shuriken's last animation as an animator.. Paying my respects to what shuriken's epic synced videos ever animated..
This is by far the most advanced and perfect collab I've ever seen period the execution is perfect it flows beautifully and they all are in the same place at the same time instead of different places for example the box collab
1:33 gotta be my favorite slashing past the opponent and then into the air and just throwing your sword finishing with a few more slashes just makes you know that you'll feel that in the morning more than anything to me
It’s been 2 years since the first time I saw this video ! So memorable whenever I watched it again . It always makes me remember about the legendary in hyun’s dojo: Shuriken 255
3:31 the moment where the imitator loses. Had he not paused to empty a mag into that guy, He likely would have had time to counter or at least block Oxob. But he paused to fire, and Oxob got the hit in, allowing for a multi-hit combo from everyone else that took him out.
a big reason imitator lost is because when they did the combo on him they all appeared to focus on a singular area in his body, dealing like 25-30 hits in a few seconds on it, and every one of them being quite powerful. if they didn't do that and the imitator went all out from the start he might have actually won
@@nashuwu266 well yeah, for an animation standpoint it synced well. But assuming they can't hear the music in the fight (as story character) then him shooting repeatedly seems to be an act of frustration that cost him the battle.
Shuriken255 may have left, but damn did he decide to leave BY EXPLODING THE WHOLE BUILDING! This was such a great video to watch, I kinda want to see what comes next if there’s another Imitator collab video that comes out in the future.
If you think about it, the imitator is actually op since he was able to fight for quite a long time and was able to push back even the most powerful warriors
Timestaps because yes 0:00 Intro 0:23 VS Shuriken255 0:35 VS Hatena 0:46 VS Kixx6 0:58 VS Nomar 1:10 VS Fox 1:21 VS Coreadro 1:33 VS ONE 1:45 VS Ehmedemer 1:56 VS Jomm 2:08 VS Rafah 2:20 VS Oxob 2:31 VS Dracko 2:57 Dracko, Nomar, One 3:00 Shuriken255, Kixx6, Oxob 3:03 Fox, Jomm, Coreadro 3:08 VS All 3:42 Dracko Kills Intruder
literally everyone in the community: is improving making actual full body animated shorts just like Resh,Guz and YenYen Hyun: i'm gonna use the same old style from 2015 lmao no one can stop me
I really love how even though the Imitator copies other sticks' weapons, powers, even physiques, he really carries his own style of fighting separate from each person he imitates
This is old, but it's an amazing animation. The team did a great job animating this and the fact that the imitator is a strong warrior, he keeps fighting until the end even though he knows he is about to lose against those powerful warriors big respect to him.
Vincent Ordas no. I think he would've won if he didn't do what he did in 3:31 because that made an opening for attacks. If he didn't did that. He would've won
Wait, are you saying that they release the Imitator just to beat the shit out of them and they locked them again? You know what, I'm not going to argue about the logic. The fight scene is still awesome as always
they released it to make sure if they able to beat it in one go. since he's way too powerful and "the imitator" is unkillable even when he was down, they decided to put him back and wait for the executors to come. his weakness is quantity and speed
@@degeneratesofthealphav2523 But still with the course of these tests The Imitator can learn and improve just like the guards. Soon it might not be 1v12 that will stop him but 1v24
@@DenzelToloa that exactly what degenerate alpha v2 said,it The executioner/someone order them to find what he weakness is,and they release him, fight and find it,and result speed and quantity is the weakness, after he defeated they cage him back untill the execution day come (sorry for the bad English)
Yeah, they're definitely telling a story, but no matter how much I watch it, I can't help but feel like the Imitator's the one suffering a great injustice here. So many of my favorite animators in this animation, and I can't help but feel a pull to PROTECT the monster that they're fighting so hard to kill 😓
My idea is that the dojo made the imitator so that everyone in the dojo could find their own weaknesses in their own styles (the story of the first imitator video). But the dojo saw that the imitator was fed up with being a "training dummy" after he threatened to destroy the dojo if he was continued to be treated as less than a person. And so the dojo sent all it's best animators to destroy him. (just my thoughts on the back story)
This is Shuriken's last collab and his last project as an animator. Let's give him some love and appreciation for everything he's done!

And even then, in the big team-up battle against him, he gets a strong start. However, the moment he slips up once, it all collapses.
You just literally described this video, what's the point, lol?

the exact instant the Imitator began to lose. Had it not decided to shoot repeatedly at Jomm (I believe?) it may have actually won. But because it paused to shoot repeatedly, Oxob was able to get a solid blow to the back, and that threw off it's combo, and allowed for the others to basically stun-lock it.

The imitator’s last stand is insane, but the coordinations between the other 12 are incredible too, especially during that 12 vs 1 sequence. If you go to Shuriken's channel, he made a video about the production of this collab and apparently it was hell because of animators dropping out, which is kinda sad because this is his last collab
Maybe they didn't wanna ruin it
Like the feeling of being not good enough? I sadly know that feeling all too well.
Look at his channel again. I don't think it was his end at being a youtuber.
Mark Luis Cahapay It wasn’t his end at being a youtuber it was just his end of being solely an animator

@Tin Nguyen He died in the first Imitator Collab, Shuriken said that this one was a prequel
@@chibaleet We do see him get obliterated because the first collab is actually a sequel to the second collab.
Well.. The imitator isnt a normal stickman
All his weapons are parts of his body morphed into the weapon, and his body is kinda a living liquid? or something like that.
Like a ferrofluid
So the only way to defeat him is to make him tired of constantly changing weapons and body

My favourite scene is when he just gives it his all, and proceeds to knock back all 12! Fighters in a last ditch effort. My favorite was at 0:54,were they clashed with the duel pistols.

@@claylilac you going into that much detail alone gave me a head ache. So I can confirm this via testing and experience.

It wasn’t his fault. Since kixx6 usually empties his mag anyways imatator inherited that flaw.
Also it was for the synchronization for the song
It’s because Oxob is an OG.

Damn this is such a trip to nostalgia lane! Godspeed Shuriken, thanks for making me anticipate so many good things years ago!
