Saw them in manchester in the 60s with the small faces love them they where great but small faces who where mods where fantastic steve Marriott one off the greatest vocalists happy day's,
I CAN'T let Go, Carrie Ann, Just one Look, Bus Stop, Stop,Stop,Stop and He aint Heavy. ALSO THE AIR THAT I Breathe. Are my favorite songs from the Hollies.
The Hollies will never be a tribute band while Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott are still playing, and apart from that Peter Howarth is a great singer, they are all good musicians, saw they just two days ago, they were brilliant !
When a band has been around as long as The Hollies, membership changes are inevitable due to disagreements, health problems (such as Allan Clarke, who left because of problems with his voice and to care for his wife Jennifer during her second cancer diagnosis), and unfortunately death (Carl Wayne and Eric Haydcock), etc. So it is with The Hollies, with 13 members having come and gone since 1962 when the group was formed. Since Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott have been in the band since the beginning and are still performing, they're far from a tribute band. It's interesting to note that apart from the Stones, the Hollies are the only "British Invasion" group that has never stopped performing or recording since their inception. Ray Stiles, their bass player, initially joined up in 1986, keyboardist Ian Parker has been a member since 1991, and lead vocalist Peter Howarth and rhythm guitarist Steve Lauri have been members for 18 years.
@@abcwatermark Absolutely right. I saw the hollies back in 1977 with Allen Clark. We all know, a great singer. I saw them also 2022 with Peter Howard. He's also a great singer and entertainer. Respect.
No original members technically but it’s obvious these guys care about the legacy of the Hollies. They seem a little tired at times. More drive and passion please. Add some thunder. Don’t be so modest mates.
@@geoffreyalder7275 Actually not correct, although Tony and Bobby appeared on all ( but one ) of the records the original band was Alan Clarke, Graham Nash, Vic Steele, Eric Haydock and Don Rathbone .
no original members, no original members... really? id rather count someone who is a member for (easy) 60 years + as original member to someone who dropped off the band in a crucial moment for their own history (and yes i mean Vic Steele who didn't want to turn PRO and left the band) idk why people still compare like 2 years in a band vs 30 years career straight and still arguing all that don't count bc he's not an "original member" 😂 if it wasn't for The Hollies Story book or (even wiki) the world would not have known about Vic Steele's existence in the group, believe me....

Tony Hicks has a nice perspective. Great history of music offered by Tony.
Peter Howarth had his breakthrough as a backing singer with CLIFF RICHARD !!!
Peter is a perfect fit for the Hollies.
My thoughts exactly josieAnn.
Tony. Hiks like he said he form Nelson lancs pendle. Lived near him in 1955. So me come back from school most days. 😕🙏🇬🇧
Good interview mates !

Tony Hicks is great to listen to talking and does not look his age.
21:52 si ocurre una reunión Clarke/Hicks/Nash cuenten con mis ahorros por 10 años que voy a invertirlos ahí mismo (! 😂
For me the Hollies ended in 1999 after Allan Clarke left. Now they are just a tribute band.

Tony Hicks, one of the most under rated members, is still among the original base of the Hollies. So is their drummer, Bobby Elliot, not shown here.
Are you kidding tony looks old and crusty like the rest of us

No original members ??.....Tony Hicks, & Bobby Elliot...both original members
