Terry is also as amazing harmony singer as Graham. Blends smoothly with Allan's voice. Tony Hicks is cute to the highest level . For me, he is a passionate guitar genius. Bob Elliot is just great too at the drums and so with the talented Bernie Calvert. Of course, who could beat Allan Clarke with his powerful, soulful pitch as lead singer? Great band but underrated. Right on with his eyes remark, I saw a pair of their colour photos and as I looked at Bernie's and Graham's eyes, Tony's blue eyes pop most of the cases. His eyes resemble the colour of the skies. How beautiful!
Isn`t it terrible when you get old and realise what you missed because you were too busy working long and hard to provide for your family. I am now 70 and i always got so excited hearing the Hollies on someone else`s transistor radio (got a 2nd. hand one on my 14th.birthday) Stop, Stop, Stop comes to mind sleeping out in the backyard under the stars on a hot summers night. Must have been xmas holidays Adelaide au 66`67. All those memories are dying along with those who made them! David Green.
I like the Hollies song "I'm Down" and have often wondered why they wrote it. I've seen adopted kids grown now discussing this subject on UA-cam and a lot of what they were saying comes up in this song. Yet Tony Hicks says he doesn't like it and calling it music to die by.. omg he cracked me up. I was like ef it just play it at my funeral I'm kicking off now! LoL. But it is serious subject matter. I've been curious ever since I first heard it why they'd do a song like that..it's unusual. And it's a song that is very relevant today since so many people are discovering through ancestry DNA results that the families they thought themselves a part of are not really their birth families. It's becoming a big deal now. Ancestry even has people who council these people who found out the truth and are really freaking out...there's a lot of them.
I had never heard this particular song either. I was adopted and experienced a lot of childhood trauma from that situation. The song was pretty much my experience. It resonates with a lot of adoptees. Thank you for seeing us!
Intense air conditioning can mess with your breathing cause it takes the humidity out of the air and chills it. But beats having a heat stroke...that really sucks!
