In this case, if the allegations are true which I’m inclined to believe they are, he is facing serious damage to his reputation which would put him in a place of disqualification from any church leadership and will put him in the hands of the court and law enforcement with possible punishment.

The fact that we all sin, and need a savior does not negate the responsibility of leaders to repent truthfully and clean up the mess they’ve made (consequences) that have affected people under their influence. You all make me tired 😂 I was just pointing out that he didn’t really say what he did when he asked everyone to forgive him. Just a blanket nonspecific forgiveness.? it’s just not really repentance or an apology when it’s that vague. there have been allegations that he did some pretty serious stuff so if he didn’t do it would be nice to know what he did so we also know what he didn’t do without that information. We can forgive him, but we don’t necessarily have to trust him.

And I agree that there is always consequences to our sin. That is a given fact but to say that he did not truely repent makes me tired. The layers to this sisuation are many and not at all clear cut. I absolutely feel for those victims and I feel for Mike because he being drag through the town square and being stone to death. As I've said before I have been in Church close to 60 yrs. Different Churches and I have never seen a Perfect Pastor or leadship handle serious issues 100 percent perfect because they and we are not perfect.

it’s not detailed - it’s vague and doesn’t specify what he is admitting to. creating sorrow & confusion in the Body is not remedied by a vague & nonspecific “repentance.” Mike Bickle needs to specify what he is asking forgiveness for, and IHOPKC needs to require this of him.

kind of a snotty thing to say? most leaders involved in this situation as well as the majority of those commenting would agree that the truth needs to be brought to light & the Bickle apology doesn’t really say much. I’m not policing anything, I’m commenting as a believer in the body of Christ, who has felt deeply grieved by these accusations, and I think Mike Bickle owes the people he has affected a little more clarity.. I suppose I could be wrong, I don’t consider myself an authority. I’m just commenting as a person who has been affected and still praying through the aftermath. It’s a simple fact that his “apology” didn’t say what he did.

His statement DOES NOT HAVE TO delve into details of what he DID DO.
What he DOES admit that he DID DO wasn't of the same nature as what he has been accused of doing.
He is being accused of doing serious sexual things he specifically DOES NOT admit to.
The ongoing and pernicious inference that people want to immediately make is that the not admitting to language infers that some delicious truth is being denied. There's an underlying gossip column presumption of guilt where guilt has not been established.
Look, if I steal $10 and am later accused of Grand Theft, I can make a completely truthful statement that is in the exact form Mike uses: I can truthfully admit to theft, AND I can truthfully not admit to theft of the more serious nature.
I'm saying I've been guilty on a certain level, and it isn't the level my accusers say.
Yes, he needs to specify morally speaking. However, I realized that that may not be advisable legally speaking at this time. He needs to follow his lawyer's advice. When all dust settles, we will see if he clarifies on his sin.
You can't use the line that your sin is "under the blood" as an excuse to avoid the consequences of your actions. If Mike was truly repentant, he would have confessed his sin to his leadership staff 20 years ago, and if he upheld the standard of the word of God, he never would have entered ministry - his willful sexual sin disqualifies him from being in a leadership position. There is forgiveness, but there should not be trust. That is how severe this sin is, and it should not be minimized; the word of God certainly doesn't minimize it.
@@BestBibleVersionDotComMike’s own standard on record is that he would never let Bob Jones on stage again after his impropriety, (see Remnant radio interview on topic) and that anyone in IHOP was to be completely above reproach in the area of holiness (hear tapes from 90’s with Bob). He transgressed far beyond what Bob did here and should at the very least apply his own standard to himself.

@keokio7 that’s not exactly what he’s saying. The fact is it was bad, and he repented daily to God but his big mistake was he DIDN’T EVER REPENT to Jane Doe! Just repenting to God does not include the person sinned against.
@@westofthemiddle Uh he was literally friends with Jane Doe and her husband this whole time. He donated to their ministry consistently this whole time. It doesn't make sense that Jane Doe would still be in contact with her "abuser" like that. There were things that Mike Bickle did that was wrong, but even Jane Doe voiced that she believed that he repented, but I think some rumor went on that he was doing the same stuff again, not sure how, and then she blew the whistle on it finally. Not saying she wasn't abused, but I'm just saying things were definitely blown out of proportion. And they all pretty much repented and let it in the past until recently.
He needs to step down as a spiritual leader and take responsibility. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing and has no place leading any congregation EVER AGAIN. He should actually go to prison for his behavior, like anyone who has sex with a minor. How can you say it wasn't that bad?
I see two things here...First, God desires a greater level of purity than our previous concepts of purity; second, just as we are aware of the need to be alert to attacks against the physical power grid, we need to be more alert to any weakness that makes the grid of spiritual prayer power vulnerable to the enemy's attack. IHOP is a dynamic city of that prayer power that God has established. Perhaps God in His mercy has used this situation to bring UNITY to the body of Christ regarding guarding our hearts in the midst of our prayers.

God waits many years out of His love for us and has great patience. Mike should have confessed these years ago and made amends to all he hurt. THAT is the biblical way. So, God is now exposing many of our sins due to the End Times, and because perhaps, he wants to use Mike in a greater way. Whatever, He is doing this for Mike's benefit. Just because he has even forgotten ALL the violations, does not exonerate him. I actually believe he doesn't even remember because there were 'multiple occasions'. Yes, all of us who love IHOP must pray that the injured will be healed, and way to wholeness be found.

A Call For Fasting And Prayer
For those of us who have been dedicated to IHOPKC for decades, and that net casts far and wide, if we know anything it’s how to pray. Words can not describe the pain of these past 6 weeks. It’s been horrendous for those of us sitting on the sidelines. Waiting. Watching. Reading. Learning. Processing. Families and friends divided. But we know how to pray. Quite frankly, I’m surprised IHOPKC has not already made a call to fast and pray over this.
For the next 3 days, 12/13 - 12/15, let’s fast and pray.
Pray for TRUTH
Pray for JUSTICE
Pray for WISDOM
Pray for Advocates
Pray for the Jane Doe’s
Pray for those still sitting in the room
Pray for those that have left their faith because of their time at IHOPKC
Pray for the leadership at IHOPKC, including their lawyers and PR firm
God will hear our prayers
If you think about it, why is it such a horrendous thing for you or anyone? Is your and other people’s faith in man? I understand. I’ve been part of a ministry whose leader fell to temptation of sin. A minister who was born again, Spirit filled, baptized in the Holy Spirit, definitely saved, who was bound by sin, sinned, truly repented and sinned again. Caught, defeated and devastated and everyone involved, family, friends, fellow minister, church members, and hundreds of thousands of others. It was like a funeral, but God forgives. God restores. God heals. God uses again and the sun comes up in the morning to a new day. Our faith should be in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Don’t let another person’s sin or accusations of sin shake your world. God’s plan for your life does not change. His plan does not depend on man.

His statement does not suggest that he revealed this at the time that it happened to his wife or to his leadership. He did not confess his sin to anyone other than God. He did not make amends to these women. Without these elements, what he did was not true repentance in any sense of the word. He has clearly deceived himself as well as those around him about the purity of his life. It’s truly unfortunate that a man of such influence could be so spiritually immature and self unaware.

If those things had happened, it would have been revealed already and he would have most likely mentioned it in his statement. If it had been dealt with then in the proper way, we wouldn’t even be talking about it right now.
Why did Jane Doe and her Husband continue to contribute to his ministry all these years later? This makes no sense at all. Something is wrong. Someone is being paid to lie I think.

Bickle sexually assaulted a 14 year old girl and a 15 year old girl and they don't. care.

Here is the problem with what you're saying. We are commanded in scripture to hold leadership accountable... that deacons and elders are to be above reproach. We are to avoid even the appearance of evil. Mike Bickle has openly confessed that he has participated in ungodly behavior and is accused of much more than what he has now admitted to. Sadly most of the pastors in public ministry lack the humility and grace to feel shame in how they have brought shame on the name of the Lord. Bickle needs to step down and go into hiding never to return to public ministry. He has disqualified himself decades ago.

Folks, Jesus isn’t our proverbial rug that we can stuff all our sins under. His blood allows us the grace to face our sinfulness and the consequences of it head on without fear of condemnation. This is the ultimate good news. If we haven’t caught on to that, then we have missed the point and Jesus’ blood is trampled on by our denial.

Did you mean, "Why did the advocacy group object to three different nationally recognized sexual abuse investigation firms?" I'm thinking that's the question to ask. One, I can see, maybe. Two, that's odd, but mayyyyybe. Three? No, there's something fishy going on with three rejections.

Personally I think he did apologize for sexual misconduct - for actions 20 + years ago. More will come out, and I think he was wise not to disclose more ( yet) for the same reasons he waited this long to say what he did. From my legal background ( I’m not a lawyer, but worked in the legal environment for 40 years) that was good counsel….. It will all come out eventually. For example, if he had used the words” sexual misconduct”, wouldn’t you then also want to know more details than that? I do think it is significant, and unfortunate that the allegation group will not cooperate with a 3rd party investigation, if that is true, as they have stated. This is what is needed and the IHOPKC leadership team did well to follow Dr Brown’s advise, and been planning to do this before he suggested it.

The only important thing is to know what the truth is, so that the situation may be dealt with fairly and accordingly. May we all continue to pray for all involved. Also, remember, the Bible says we will know people by their fruit. IHOPKC, do others know you by your fruit? How you all handle this situation, especially, is critical. Remember that the world is watching, including unbelievers, and that you are witnesses for Christ to them....whether in a good way, or a bad way. Please let that witness be a good one. The current situation is already challenging enough already, please dont give unbelievers MORE excuses to remain unbelievers than they already have by continuing to speak in an Unchristian way about the subject online! What’s really shocking is how *some* so called Christians, (alleged victims as well) are casting stones when they themself have sins the Lord has forgiven decades ago or currently engaging in sin but are too blind to see. Psalm 130: 3-4 “If you kept a record of sins, Lord who would stand. But with you there is forgiveness, so that we, with reverence, serve you.” --- Mike’s teachings from God’s word will be refined; May he continue the ministry again. May the offended be healed and restored in the love of Jesus Christ. We all have to give an account. Mike is forgiven.

Seeking for justice is not casting stones. The bible advises that teachers will give an account based on higher standards. If all of this is true, of course he'll be forgiven (if he's actually repentant). But not restored to ministry.

As for castling stones, I’m speaking of those who are slandering, and actually contributing to the division with their words. And I have read the words of alleged victims who are casting stones not just seeking for justice. At that point, it’s bitterness, and might I add - Hatred- which Jesus said is the same as murder.
And as someone who once operated in a bitterness mindset, (I’ve been healed and restored by the grace of God)

IHOPKC has established an independent 3rd party and making some changes. At what point will the complaint community feel satisfied that justice has been served?

And/or when IHOPKC- Prayer Room and Forerunner Church burns to the ground? These are comments I’ve read.
The avenue for justice has been implemented for those who feel they need it.
And why would you think he shouldn’t be restored to ministry? Like Mike mentioned in his letter, let God decide that and confirm it from Holy Spirit filled brothers and sisters in the body of Christ. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.
What’s also most important is for the alleged victims to come forward and began a journey of healing and reconciliation. If they don’t, then why start the fire? Other then to cause strife, division and get there egos pampered. That’s Bible.

False. Boz never indicated they should use GRACE (but they should agree upon a third party). He knows that GRACE would be a conflict on interest and unlike IHOPKC, he plays fair. Have you heard of Boz before this scandal? I’ve spoken to him personally this past year about my own case…..he is THE attorney and is nationally known for standing up for victims abused, silenced and steamrolled in the church.

Anyone thinking Bickle’s statement is anything but an attempt at redemption without confession and repentance, and attorney speak, is sadly mistaken. I’ve been in and around the general ‘prophetic’ movement for thirty years and this statement does not pass the ‘smell’ test. I could easily tear it apart paragraph by paragraph, but the essence of the problem is his response to the primary accusation: he asserts his repentance twenty years ago, but fails to acknowledge adultery and confession to both his wife and leadership at the time. That means either that he never truly repented and rationalizes that he did; or, that his wife and former leadership were complicit in the cover-up for twenty years. Meanwhile he raised millions and millions based on a lie of being someone he is not. The people closest to him are apparently not holding him responsible and telling him the truth. Instead, his attorneys are telling him what to say to avoid future lawsuits, in hopes of protecting him and IHOP. There is so much more that could be said. But, I am not persuaded by this - and no one else with good sense will be either. An independent third party, non-attorney investigation should have started weeks ago. Shame on all involved in what has to now be considered a general cover-up, ‘cover our A-‘ situation.

I have nothing in this. I have never been a part of this ministry. I don’t know if I have ever even heard of Mike Bickel. I get emails from them, because I donated money one time to a young person who was going there for ministry training. I don’t feel as though it is anyone’s business except for the church there, the members of the church, the students who attend, the leadership, Bickel and his family, and any person who may have been wronged by him.
Now a days, anyone can be accused of anything. There doesn’t need to be proof of a crime or inappropriate behavior, for people to believe something happened. Think about that. A person, you may or may not know, can say you did something or said something and people will believe it and condemn you for it.
If there is something the man did wrong I pray the truth comes out. If the accusers are liars, I pray the truth about them comes out. It seems to me, the burden of proof is on the accusers. They must have evidence a crime occurred or inappropriate behavior (sin) occurred. If they don’t have physical proof or eyewitnesses, then they don’t have much of a case. If it involves a child, then that is a bit different. Even then, without proof, it could be a lie.
So again, where’s the proof. If it involves something that happened 20+ years ago, and the man confessed his sin to God and God forgave him, who are we to bring up past sin?

The Advocate Group has not yet explained why they included the names of current women who say they have nothing but good things to say about IHOPKC and Mike and asked to not be involved. The disparity between Mike’s statement and the serious allegations brought forth by The Advocate Group on October 28th calls for an unbiased and thorough investigation. Such a process is essential not only for uncovering the facts but also for upholding the principles of fairness and justice that IHOPKC stands for. Some of the same former interns that are popular for these youtube videos also persecuted IHOP for teaching biblical discipline in favor of cheap grace; it does appear they've led many to believe in abuse is ongoing, but there's no evidence of that.
Did you catch the part in Mike’s statement where he said “I followed the advice of my lawyers….?”The victims have lawyers too. No attorney is going to instruct a victim to go to the press or go online and tell everything. Neither IHOPKC nor Mr Bickle are going to control this process. I know that must be uncomfortable for many of you.

Very inappropriate comment for such heavy situations what caused so much destruction. Why lawyer up? Especially when you engage a law firm that is a major advocate for the LGBT agenda. I would prefer believers handle this. Is there no one in your leadership with discernment and wisdom that can uncover the truth. To ask the professing victims to submit to your process through a law firm that you engaged should always be rejected. When they refuse you attempt to shame them into compliance. I'm not defending him here; I'm calling out the bad form of your argument. You're like Job's "friends" assuming that all the disaster that befell him is prima facie evidence of hidden sin in Job's life that he needed to repent of. At the end of it all, God finds Job's three friends guilty of sin saying “I am angry with you ...., because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has." And He demands sacrifices from them to atone for their sin. God took issue with Job, but it didn't have to do with sin, as He doesn't demand an atoning sacrifice from Job over it.
After more than 40 chapters, it's the "guilty" one who -- while he does need to humble himself -- is found not guilty by God.
And it is Job's "Intervention Team" God calls out as guilty of sin.

A born again believer has nothing to be ashamed of if the serve and have repented. 20 years ago? I am not a fan boy and have no reason to be bias but I will say my spirit tells me he is being set up and never did these things. This is not the catholic church. His will is outlined with regard to church discipline and restoration clearly and unambiguously in the Bible. Mike is disqualified by his own statement alone, as is anyone who knew back then or came to know and did nothing. Really is that simple. Repentance requires accountability.

In my 20’s a Catholic priest, a Monsignor, said a disgusting sexual phrase to me via the telephone that was way before all the sex scandals in the Catholic Church. And I said nothing to warrant what he said. But that didn’t stop me at the time in attending Catholic churches. Eventually we need to take all our hurts to Jesus and let him heal us.

Allegations are all there are.
And even those were crippled early on because some who maintain Mike's innocence were dragged in among the accusers against their will, and had to expressly denounce that. So the character of those bringing the allegations was put in the spotlight in a bad way right outta the gate.
