I’m SO glad to find this video. I purchased the Closetmaid system from Amazon and got overwhelmed looking at the instructions. And I’ve been putting things together since i was like 8 so that says a lot because I’m pretty handsy. This video made the build out look ahead seem easy and hopefully it turns out just as great as theirs did.
You did a great job at showing us how to put those up .I believe I can do it myself now that’s awesome thank you I appreciate people that take the time to do these kind of videos is very very helpful thank you
Great video! Thanks for the step by step and showing different angles on how to do it. I'm going to turn a small closet into a pantry for extra storage. I've been researching for weeks now making sure I cover everything and also finding basically free materials/samples etc.
Man, I installed this system in a tall closet. Used 16 inch deep shelves. Moved out and got divorced. That $160,000 house now lists for $455,000. I really miss that closet I built! lol Cost around $1,800 in materials.
Great video! I’m adding to existing shelving and the new brackets (similar to yours) are different than the old ones. Your video was the most helpful on I’ve seen to figure out that specific issue. Thank you!
It was a good idea that you installed the verticals 16 inch apart, I installed my every 32 and I use a shelf track on top to add security, so 32 inches apart was not a good idea as it caved in 😞
Perhaps you can help me... Bought Closet Maid supplies (and all the lables have EVERBILT and not ClosetMaid). The problem involves the brackets--the top part isn't smooth and solid. It has notches and nothing fits. Do I have the wrong brackets (even though everything has the same EVERBILT label) or is there a trick? I would attach a photo if I knew how. Thanks
So I am using these to create my walk in closet. But question, I’m clumsy and knocking things over all the time. Could I install this so the lip of the wire shelf is facing upward so that I’m not knocking things over? Or does it not install well that way?
In my opinion you know all of the Vertical Rail are level??? plus it gives extra support, he said if you use that rail you do not have to use as many brackets, I my self have use the I did my closet with the upper railing and a bracket on every stud, nothing is coming down, LOL
What size bolt cutters are best for this job? I had the same plan (for cutting), grabbed a pair of 12”, wondering if those will be enough to get through.
I just moved into a home w/ this system in the master closet. There's a vertical shelving portion they had angled racks for shoes I'm guessing. I purchased the same arms that you showed to have flat shelves. It appears they did not mount the bracket poles properly and they are to far apart. Please tell me how to measure exactly where to mount the one side after I remove it so it will fit properly. The shelves are approx 2'. Thank you
@@danielmid6022 It is about a 2' wide shelf, so there are only 2 vertical brackets that would need to sit that distance. What if there is no stud? How can I ensure it is sturdy? Thanks
A few years old and sorry to say but this was not the best design or install. The amount of waste is crazy. Ceiling to floor with the rails is just wrong. .Top rail would have saved a ton of money and time. I do this for a living and have installed miles of wire shelving. Why is every shelf adjustable? Again kind of a wast of money. Could have done the entire thing is a nice white wood for the same price.
Great video Daniel. We dissembled several of these in a home we purchased. Your video was very informative helping us to rebuild it.

Had that same question! Thanks for answering it at 1:45 in. Didn’t know if I could get away without buying the top thingy. Glad to know that I can!
Thank you for the video!! I think I can do it my husband & I can do it ourselves now :) I can't thank you enough for showing us how to do it!

Great production quality for DIY
Very nice, I'm doing a sprinter van this week, thanks for the detailed tips!
Thank you! Seems like installing the shelves should be self explanatory. Appreciate the help
Thanks for sharing. I've done a few small 4' & 6' and in the process of doing a walk-in. I found your install video helpful.
Excellent video the best one so far Thxs so much

Love this video. So informative, I was looking for this for a long time.

Thanks for video was searching for info about the top rail. As system really gets expensive
Dang, turned out really nice! Good job👍
Dude, so dope. Love the way it looks. I’m about to do my closet this week.
Great Job with this demonstration. I can do this!
Great video sharing with us
I've seen pictures of tracks with wooden shelves. And even a desk set up. How would that work on the brackets ? They aren't perfectly flat

Thank you so much
Great Video, did you put all the long pieces in the stud. I notice there was no top bracket
Yes we did. Knowing these shelves were going to hold a lot of weight, each support is tied to a stud

Hey, I know it's 16 in shelves but with the 1 inch bracket is it actually 17 inches off the wall?
Daniel, Thanks for the great instructional video. What's the purpose of the upper railing if it's not really needed?

I found that Home Depot is WAAAAAY cheaper than Amazon
What did this cost you to do?

I think the ones u got should be fine. The metal is pretty easy to cut
@@danielmid6022 cool. I (tremendously) appreciate the rapid reply. Happy Easter, if that’s a holiday you observe.

Hi. U can use a stud finder to mount the bracket on a stud. They should be 16" apart on center

Nice vid! What size shelving did you use? Is that also 16 or 17 inches?
What size screws you ise
2 1/2"
