Ingredients
Sausages of choice 400 grams or 12 sausages
Plain all purpose flour 140 grams of flour just over 1 cup
Eggs 4

oil for cooking just to coat the pan around 2mm in height - Навчання та стиль
The process looks similar to Yorkshire puddings which I love. I would definitely try this recipe!

This is my go to recipe for the batter. Especially the way you mix it in with a bit of milk at a time and really whisk those lumps out. If you use large eggs, only use 3. The mustard powder is essential for the colour. No Salt or pepper for seasoning.Best way to get it to really rise is 220-240 C (UK) and keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn. Makes the base rise up as well. Chop potatoes about an inch square and put them in boiling water the same time as you put the mixture in the oven and they should both be ready at about the same time. Then just add onion gravy for the perfect comfort food, mid-week family dinner.
Hello Old Trancer, your comment was truly a pleasure to read :) Thank you so much and yes I agree makes a perfect mid-week family dinner. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. cheers Rose :)

Hi. This is something new to me. Is this an English dish? Awesome recipe 👍 😍 😍
yes its very much an english dish thanks for watching have a great day so glad you liked it
Just making this now , hope it comes out ok
Like 19 very well
Looks good Rose, the sausage is sitting in a Yorkshire pudding... so beef drippings would be nice. What seasonings were in the pork sausage? Thanks!
So True Biggs beef dripping is a great addition and adds so much more flavour I just didn't have any at the time lol.. The pork sausages were seasoned with apple and sage it came out really nice and the flavour was there. Hope you have a great week. I have shingles at the moment so feeling a little sorry for meself lol..
what size dish did you use ty
Can you put cooked onions in the batter.?
👅👅Yummy👅👅
if you cut the sausage in 3 or 4 after Browning & use a large muffin pan with beef drippings in each bay along with 2 or 3 sausage portions, then cover with batter...would 400°F still be a good temperature?...for how long?...thinking that individual ones would be more entertaining friendly...your thoughts, please...thank you for a wonderful video & recipe...
ooh Yes Douglas that would be lovely and such a great Idea I am sure your guests would love them. making me drool just thinking about it. I think you should be good at around 20 minutes but I would suggest leaving them for at least 15 mins before opening the oven or they will sink. Thank you so much for your great comment. cheers Rose :)
very nice I subbed you
What no onion gravy?
ok i followed this recipe with such hopes after yrs and yrs of trying to make a toad in the hole that would rise , i even bought a brand new cooker thinking maybe just maybe its the cooker not heating up right , so i followed this video to a t and i mean to a t double cheaked everything looked twice maybe 3 times at the measurements before mixing and yes came out like a pancake again grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
this looks yummyy...You are So beautifull ...dear
Thank you so much dear not feeling too beautiful today have the shingles agh oh well life goes on ;)
