And that is so shameful from ED, not really doing anything properly in the time they are working for it. Like when they created AGR mode, they couldn't make it to detect trees, so you would get radar shadows from trees and all. And GMT mode is just like nothing else is there than the vehicles, so pure cheat to read the unit ID from the radar scan area and mark it on radar. While in reality when vehicles start to camouflage, they become even invisible to radar as for FLIR, you just make them vanish from those. That is why european warfare is completely different from the desert operations as you can't use radar or targeting pod to detect troops locations or movements, but you need to have recon troops on the ground to do visual spotting for coordinates.
Love the targeting pod pixelation! I'm really glad we're getting an SE at EA that will be similar-ish to ODS-era. Some low-level, no GPS strikes will be awesome! Thanks!
Great tutorial and explanation regarding the process and limitations. HRM is what I am looking forward to most. Janes did an awesome job with it 25 years ago so expectations are very high 😊
Also my main question is. Will the backseat AI be able to use the radar and lock targets itself? I don't mean it just does it of course, you'll have to use the dialogue wheel, but will you be able to have him find and track targets?

fascinating, so i presume this confirms it does not have a gmt track mode then? kind of a shame but it really doesnt make much of a difference to my use of the plane anyway
Coming from the Hornet and Viper (single player), I'm wondering if I'll be effective enough in the Strike Eagle to really enjoy it as a single player. I'm just starting to get decent in the Viper, which is why I'm a little on the fence about getting the F-15E. She's definitely caught my eye though 😉

Hey mate, looking great! Just wondering, does the 15E have something similar as the "INT" mode that the Hornet has? INT mode will basically show terrain on 1 sweep of the radar, and then show no terrain on the other. Found it very useful to get a quick reference of what you are looking at, for example, roads, buildings, mountains etc. Thanks dude (My bad, should have watched until the end! The strike Eagle does have this capability)
I wasnt impressed by the resolution of the pod... Hornets pod with same distance looks better. Is that the best resolution the pod provides even after release?
Sounds right, the LANTRIN is an older system (~87') compared to the LITENING (~99') and of course the ATFLIR.(~03') I am not sure about any potential upgrades it may have had around 2003.
Lantirn is a lower res pod, in future updates the F-15 will receive a newer pod but at EA release we get the lantirn similar to how the real life strike eagle was initially deployed

I'm going to have to side with the majority here. Giving us a 05+ Strike eagle with an 87 era pod is pretty crap. 80 dollars for a module that uses obsolete tech when there are multiple pods in the game already. Sniper Pod coming later means that you give an eagle that is missing what makes it a strike eagle for probably another 4-5 years. That sniper pod is nowhere near being released for any module. We aren't buying an 87 era eagle we are buying an 05+ eagle so where is that tech.
what majority? I like the idea of having the older pod, and then getting two more later. Besides, more challenge to use. you bummed about not having jdams too? For ODS scenarios this will be sweet!
what are you guys coming from? ffs. They are giving 3 pods within the module, which is gonna be launched in Early Access. Just give them some time to complete the full roadmap once it's released... sigh
I say this as a long time DCS player. It takes years to flesh out a pod. HB has there Lantrin, now Raz has there Lantrin. Promises of Sniper has been almost 4 years now not one word said from ED on it. I can appreciate those who like using the older pods and doing it the old fashioned way that is fun to. However and I say this from the heart. Selling a module with the promise of future content is getting quite old at this point. F15E was promised 10+ years ago to and it took till now to get it. After release of a module things get really slow on the development side of things. Paying that money while yes gives you years of upgrades is paying for the promise of other features. Technically once it's released they can change there mind and not deliver one thing more. ED Scrapped the sniper pod on the viper for awhile to until the community exploded on them to get it back on the list. I like to think Razbam is a good enough company to keep there word but this day and age it's getting harder to trust in that.
My guy it helps me learn. My brain is going uhh when i watch these videos so it helps me to relate. Also get checked out if you can't pay attention to the video because of counting something that all normal human beings dont even notice.
