Wow, first to leave a comment. First let me say kudos to you. I wish more black people would speak on investing and retirement. As for myself, I'm 42 and just passed the quarter million line as far as savings and retirement goals. They say it's good to have a number that you'll be prepared to retire at and for me that number is $2.5 million so I can get $100k per year (using the 4% rule). Then social security will just be icing on the cake because it's not going to be fully funded anymore by the time I retire.
@@dsmith4140 The market has crashed before and it will again one day. The trick is to educate yourself and build a diverse portfolio and have as much time in the market as possible. As far as home prices, I took the route of buying a small plot of land where I'll build my retirement home over time.
