Dagestani's don't like to be acknowledged as Russian for the most part. I visited Dagestan for 3 weeks and what I found interesting is that they still view themselves as a separate country and believe they'll have independence again. Funnily enough one of their biggest issues with being acknowledged as Russian is that Russia has a reputation for alcohol, namely vodka. Because Dagestan is a Muslim state they strongly dislike being linked to a country with such deep rooted reputation in liquor.
@El Chapo and what ? Who care ? To have lost against Jon Jones make him a bad guy ? No passionate and no charismatic ? Your comment make no sense. The life is not about record grow up dude , i would rather be a nice guy like DC with my defeats than Jon
I recommend everyone to read up on his backstory. Besides the amazing fact that he was champion in two different weight classes, he suffered a lot. Losing his child, fighting someone that was using PEDS for his most important match and more
Fun fact: I DJ’d his wedding! I wasn’t really a UFC fan at the time so I had no idea who he was but I noticed that every guy at the wedding had cauliflower ears. 😯 I was focused on keeping all those scary dudes and their wives on the dance floor. He was an incredibly kind client, and now I’m a huge MMA follower.
DC is the perfect role model not only for MMA but in life. The things he has suffered, he could have easily went down the wrong path but he became a responsible man. Losing his child and still fighting on, persevering. I love his quote "Boys do what they want to do, Men do what they have to do".
I love DC. Loved that he was the smaller in stature of the heavy weights. Love that he was a two weight class champ. All that and he's still got his sense of humor and charm instead of being snobby. That's a complete man.
Jon Jones was my favorite fighter growing up so I used to despise DC for no reason other than he was Jon’s rival but over the years he’s become one of my favorite people in the sport.

DC is the kind of man we wish we could be, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, former UFC Heavyweight Champion, the first champ champ to defend not just one, but both titles successfully, a great voice on the weigh in show and the commentary booth, and being a role model for kids in a world where they are needed.
How can you not respect and love this man. His all class. When the time comes for Dana to step down as UFC president, DC definitely gets my nomination.
Cormier seems like a good role model for children. He is not my favorite fighter in the ring but he seems like a good guy and role model for life in general.

Daniel is a true legend of ufc. such a good dude. on free time he spends time with kids teaching them wrestling and defending themselves in general. Doesnt deserve the hate he gets because his grappling knowledge is the best in ufc. khabib said DC taught him a lot :)
I always had a soft spot for DC, but i properly respected him after another fighter showed a clip of DC in a hotel room after defending his belt. He was on his Ipad video chatting to the children in his gym during one of their classes. Such a great ambassador for MMA

This is one of the baddest men to ever compete in MMA and you'd never know after his career because of how laidback and kind he is. This guy gives back to his hometown and San Jose all the time. He puts his own time and effort into the next generation and is an awesome coach.
This is what counts outside of the octagon just being an overall good human being that doesn’t act like they’re better than anyone . Sometimes fighters need to throw away that “no one can touch me, I’m the champ “ attitude because god gives and god can take away just as fast
Daniel is a stand up genuinely good dude. Great coach! Great person however always he also wanted to be the goat and always came up a few yards short of beating that coke head.
