omg you look so cute with that cookie!!! i will definitely be reading this when i get my hands on it. i enjoyed bunny and enjoyed all's well even more-shakespeare AND chronic pain??? yes. love the cross referencing you do when chatting about this. you talk about books/films so well! i am always intrigued after watching a chatty vlog from you. x
we love a good cookie! ooh i think you will fall in looove with the prose!!! it plays with language in a beautiful way. ahh thank you! i feel like books and films go so well together! they really do speak to each other. but yes! i'm interested in looking at more of her work! do you think i should read All's Well or Bunny next??
@@nathansnook yes! finding those through lines within different art/media is always exciting! i also need to watch eyes wide shut and really looking forward to it!! okay, i think all’s well is a better book but bunny is truly a wild ride. i read the last two thirds in one sitting and felt very wavy afterwards haha x
i recently read this as part of a reading vlog and i wish i had seen your video before then hahah!!! your analysis of tom cruise as a character was quite smart, i had come to a similar conclusion but it wasnt as nearly as well thought out as yours! great insight
Skincare, cults, gothic terror. This sounds wonderful! Loved your analysis at the end, makes me extra excited to read this one. I had fun reading Bunny and I felt similarly that it loses the reader by having more strength in aesthetics than the story itself. However, the syrupy atmosphere carried me through even if it was difficult to follow. Also, that leather tie would be the classiest most perfect piece to wear to Folsom Street Fair omg
with your description of Bunny, i think you will totally love Rouge!!! hope you pick it up! and did Folsom St Fair a few times and honestly once is enough 😭
@@nathansnook I liked All's Well a touch more. But I immediately re-read both when I finished and I rarely re-read books. You can't go wrong. We Spread by Iain Reid is another fever dream I immediately re-read.
@@smittenforfiction good to know! and i really do need to get to Iain Reid! i've only watched the Kaufman adaptation of I'm Thinking of Ending Things and i'm sooo intrigued by the structure of his narratives through dream/memory sequence, much like Rouge!
Here because Ben @benreadsgood said some very glowing things about your channel on his most recent vlog. So, following Ben's advice, I've subscribed and decided to sample your content by going to your 'most popular' vlog. I have to say that, in addition to being very erudite, you are also very funny. I laughed several times.
Nicole Kidman, not Naomi Watts. 😘
omg thanks for the correction I ALWAYS GET THE TWO MIXED UP 😭
I LOVE the tie. “Hefty weekend”….funny!
haha we packed that weekend to the brim!!!

I read an arc of Rouge and loved it. Sinister and strange. Loved Bunny and All's Well.
sinister and strange are on the mark! what do you think i should read next in my Awad journey, Bunny or All's Well? :0
