Had someone, who lived in this area 100 years ago, been still alive and seen this same area, he/she would've been completely astonished at how much change Woodland Hills has gone through and how many cars are on the roads now. A hundred years ago, there were far fewer cars on the road and the 101 freeway has yet to be built. Great historical tour.

You should check out my friends house on Dumetz. It is the blue house, with white picket fence… just 3 or 4 from my old address. It has some history to it also. But it one of the cutest houses in WH. It is owned by Joseph Wahl.

My firstborn was born in Woodland Hills in 1994, we live in Arizona now. Thanks for the history lesson, first time viewer, have to subscribe! I grew up in Sepulveda, then moved to Porter Ranch in 1965, when it was brand new.

I lived in Woodland Hills on Tiara Drive adjacent to Pierce College in the hills on the valley floor, this was mid 1970s until 1980. I loved living there. I was told Warner Ranch was located near where I lived. The old western movies were filmed there, and this area became Promenade Mall and the high rise buildings.

Nice detail. I went to Burbank High School and then Pierce College in the 1960s. Somewhere West of Reseda the smog ended thanks to the Ocean breeze. Piece had milk cows back then.
The Jewish Journal Oct. 3, 2013 article titled "Los Angeles History: Jewish Dreamers and Schemers of the San Fernando Valley" is proud to claim Victor Girard among others.

My Grandmother was Vic’s partner for the last 10 years of his life. They lived in Pacific Palisades on Paseo Miramar. He started Palisades Builders. Many of the houses on Via De La Paz were built by his company. He died in 1954, 2 years before i was born. My mother is 93 and has interesting stories about him. He was eccentric.

I first visited WH around 1973/74 and there were a lot of open spaces. The next time was in the early 80's and it was pretty much filled in.

We owned the John Show ranch home, originally a 300 acre ranch in southwestern Woodland Hills. Have much documentation on this 1928 impressive home. The Betty Grable and Harry James ranch was built on a part of it and I can show you where. Here is a video on the history of this 1928 John Show ranch and home. ua-cam.com/video/lFk2DES2kFY/v-deo.htmlsi=W2-rbDaSPM-NjF4a

Roscoe and topanga 1960s-1980? What I would do to go back in time. Early 70s I would hitchhike there to topanga beach.

Great videos! I grew up in Woodland Hills.… Burbank Boulevard and Woodlake Avenue to be exact (enough). Do you know of the history of Charlie Chaplin‘s house on Burbank Boulevard… There is a tile picture/mural of his top hat still there to this day! The house I grew up in at one point in time was part of Charlie Chaplin‘s property.

      Here's what I found:
In 1923, a trio of Burbank boosters proposed a new thoroughfare to honor the San Fernando Valley soldiers who helped secure victory for the Allied Powers in World War I.

I was born in Woodland Hills on Berdon Street just north of Ventura Blvd. off of Shoup ave. That was where I was indoctrinated to believe I was an evolved monkey living on a Spinning Space Rock in the Heliocentric Model Earth… I forgave my parents for lying to me about the tooth fairy, easter bunny and Santa… Both have passed since and now 65 years later I discovered I was lied to about the very earth I walk upon… They were lied to also so I have forgiven them for this as well… In 2024 it is not necessary to ignorantly continue this deceit… We were all divinely created and we all live on a divinely created enclosed stationary plane not a planet… Peace is possible once this truth is known by all…

Do you know about what they found in 1982 in Woodland Hills? Have you looked into the connections? It is hard to blame people for indoctrination when you see the true evil going on all around us. I Pray for us all.
