  • This episode of UNCUT is different as we use behind-the-scenes footage provided to The Watercraft Journal by BRP Sea-Doo itself from inside of the massive and newly renovated Sturtevant, WI manufacturing facility where all of the new Switch pontoon boats are assembled.

Always the best Kevin. Thanks. My friend called me yesterday asking me about my input on a 2007 speedster 150 that was $17k. I told him thats too much for a 15 yo boat and to look at these. I'd totally get one if my garage didn't already have my 38' Scarab, my rxtx and rxpx sea doos and my '20 Can am X3 RC

We had ordered ours in February. According to the salesman, their allotted 8 watercraft had already been spoken for but they had a “cancellation”, so the one we were getting was ordered prior. We built it online, so we had an idea of what the MSRP was but the salesman said he could not give us a firm price because of “supply chain issues”.
The boat finally arrived in late July, approximately $3K over what we were expecting to pay for it. In addition, the trailer, which was supposed to be included, was listed as a separate item (dealer option) on the final invoice, $2,500.00 add on.
I was told by the salesman that that’s the way they bill it from the factory. I contacted BRP directly, they launched an “investigation” into the matter and came back several months later with the same answer. I only got to use the boat four times. As a first time boat owner, it was a lot of fun and very easy to launch and reload onto the trailer. Time will tell if the money was well spent. I understand the prices have gone up $3K-$4K from the’22 to the’23 model years.
Get your final price before putting any money down!!!

Nice video and commentary! Was cool to see. But I’ll keep my focus on skis on the water. A pontoon boat is a minivan on the water! At least get a sporty bow rider.

    Wax?

They’re made out of cheap plastic garbage just like the Sea-Doo Sparks and all the new Pollytech hulls. We work on them every day in my shop and we have disposed of dozens of SeaDoo Spark & GTI Hulls that were easily damaged buy objects in the water and were unrepaIrable where as a Fiberglass hull would have been easily repaired . All that injection moulded plastic with shower curtain side pieces are made quicker than a batch of cookies this stuff is absolute garbage and people will see once it hits a rock or gets cracked . Typical SeaDoo.
SeaDoo is a world leader in marketing cheap garbage when they are more than capable of making far better quality Powersports products built out of far better quality products such as Fibreglass and gelcoat but the reason they make them this way is because it is so quick and so profitable for them. If you’re going to buy a pontoon boat buy a real pontoon boat these things are a joke at those prices.👎

It’s a shame the quality is very cheaply made, wife and I really wanted one, after we looked at one that a private owner was selling we decided they aren’t made like our Seadoo Jet ski’s, maybe in a few years they will be of better quality.
