Hi Everyone! What PC do you use when working in Lumion?
Asus ROG GTX1060 6gig dedicated 16 ram
NIce - I think I looked at that one - it's a bit thicker than mine - how does it handle the heat at high loads?
I build my own. Currently Intel 8770K with 32GB Ram and a GTX 1080ti.
Rx 580 8gb gddr5, ryzen 5 2600x 6 core 12 threads, 16 gb 3000 mhz, ssd....but i thik there is a problem the first time i started up lumion everything was maxed out in benchmarks, but i had to re-download it because i had to get install a new windows and the benchmarks fir my cpu went down 3-4 bars from max... Wierd
Hp Omen with gtx 1070, 16 gb ram, i7 8700 and it work great.

Justin, have you done a similar review for monitors? I like the potential real estate/screen size of the LG 43UD79-B - 43 inch monitor but not sure of the performance for running sketchup/ lumion? Thoughts?

I’m using my gaming pc that I built a year ago it’s very similar to yours just my ram is 64 and I over clocked the 1080ti a little.

Btw it’s so exciting if we can see Lumion add support for ray tracing in new rtx cards
Hopefully it's helpful - I've never really felt the need to overclock the 1080ti just because it's initially so powerful, but I can see how that would give you great performance!

Excuse my ignorance. Does a high end GPU affect the final result/rendering? Will a high end card produce stills that are of better quality than a lower end card? Or does GPU mostly affect render speed?
I’m planning on going budget with a 1660 Ti for twinmotion and I do custom residential design on single family homes.
I don't believe it will affect the quality of your renders, but it will both take longer, and your experience within the editing window won't be as good
Hi i have a system with a 3070, 5800x and 32gb ram. Also the hd is pci express. Im wondering what im doing wrong that in a simple bar, no more than 30 sqm and 100mb in sketchup it struggles to go over 5-6 fps. My editor quality is at just 2 stars and the resolution at 50%. I have a 4K screen.

Thanks for the video. I am just planning to buy a new notebook with 1660ti graphics card. The ones that I've checked are usually with the following CPU-s: i5-9300h, i7-8750H and i7-9750H. Do you think the i7-9th gen would mean much difference to the i5-9th gen? Or does it worth buying the i7-9th gen instead of the other 2? Which one do you recommend? The biggest score difference in the CPU benchmark is about 100-150 scores so I don't know what to choose.
(The notebooks are Lenovo Legion y540, MSI Gl63-8sd or MSI gf65 thin)

I don't have any experience with either one of those - you'd have better luck comparing them on a benchmarking site to see which has the better performance
Does the rendering output quality change according to graphics card quality?
I don't think so - I think it's more the amount of time the rendering takes - it should be possible to generate nice renders with an older PC, assuming it doesn't crash and/or you have a lot of time to wait
I have a laptop hp omen.... it's Ryzen 7 4000 series...4 gb graphics of 1650ti... Also 16gb ram...

I am between going for laptop or desktop.. just think on portability when needed ... shall I think on laptops when work on lumion? If I will go for desktop pc , which part of pc to invest more for lumion works is it the CPU , GPU or Rams ?
I can't answer if you need a laptop or a desktop...Desktop will always be more powerful, less portable. GPU is going to be really important when using Lumion...

Great video! I am looking to build a Lumion desktop and was wondering if a Ryzen 2600x or 2700x is a better option than an i7 at this point? Does Lumion benefit from more threads or does it only need higher clock speeds? Would be awesome if you could answer this for me :)
No clue - I've always had the I-Series
According to lumion official response on their forum, more cores are useless, 1800x stock has a way worse score on the inhouse benchmark then a 3770k@ 4.4ghz
ryzen 2700x beats an i7-8700T based on its cpu mark score. i suggest you look at these numbers www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html.

Lumion site suggest gtx gpu, not quadro...but i'm not really expert in pc configuration. I'd choose a gaming pc, it's less expensive
Based solely on what I'm seeing on this site (www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html), it looks like that card would be somewhere between a GTX 1050 and 1060? So on the lower end of the cards recommended by Lumion?

I do cloud rendering, because my laptop is only 1gb vga and 6gb ram. It's much cheaper than upgrade the laptop (i rendering twice a day its only cost 10$ a month)

hi i'm kind of stuck between 2060 6gb and 2060 super 8gb. for rendering big projects like airport and others does the extra 2gb really matters?
I don't really know to be honest with you. I'd say probably the difference between a 2060 and a 2070 would probably be much larger than the difference between 6gb and 8gb. Not sure though
more RAM just increases the complexity of the scene. I'd go with super.

And here I am rendering my 6 second video clip from lumion 8 for 35 damn minutes, Lumion’s suggestion for ram requires you to get atleast (for the better render of course) 32gb and for me that’s expensive.
Well it sounds like you're using the program under their recommended requirements...also, graphics card is more important than RAM

It's a little disappointing that Lumion (and most other rendering software) doesn't support SLI to zip things along even faster. We all use laptops at work so I'm pretty excited for the new Ryzen laptops announced at CES this year (more cores and budget friendly).
Hmmm....I agree, though if you're looking for affordability, buying multiple graphics cards might not be the right choice...

I don't think Lumion 10 is going to have less system requirements than Lumion 9. I suggest visiting their system requirements page to verify

Did you go to the website that talks about system requirements? Because all that information is there
It troubles me know these questions keep coming up. Most machines designed for gaming will work and you just get the biggest and baddest you can afford. Lumion relies more on the GPU than the CPU, if you have to cut corners I would put as much money as possible into the GPU. (Just can the RPG lighting and put the money elsewhere). The REAL questions should be: Does Lumion support Ray Tracing with the RTX Cards? Is the expense of Quadro cards over GTXs worth it? What about AMD Rysen CPUs and GPUs?
Lol - I find it funny that people post the question on my videos but never go to Lumion's website to check the system requirements. I agree though - the GPU is going to get you the best bang for your buck. Solely looking at the Passmark website linked from their system requirements page, it feels like the only Quadro Card with significantly better performance than the other similar cards is the top of the line RTX 6000. It kind of looks like otherwise the GTX's are a better choice - (www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html) - Interesting list

your gpu atleast gtx 1060 ti, it doesn't need powerful processor, if u have intergrated gpu like intel hd, forget about running lumion on your pc, I mean u can run it, but it lag, maybe 10-20 fps

The most likely choice is the config1 with i7 8700 and rtx 2060. In your opinion, does it make me use the lumion 9.5 smoothly?
