He’s so gonna be in it, Keith David denied it at first when he was asked about voicing Spawn in MK11. Antony has said “no” many times but come on, 2 things: have you seen him in interviews? the man is savage 😂 he said his favorite part of season 2 of The Boys was throwing the kid off the roof. And secondly, he’s a Kiwi, if brits are known for dry humor, New Zealanders are on a whole other game.

Antony Starr just said that he was willing to be involved, The problem is that WB is so cheap that while he was rejected on his role, people kept asking questions if he was going to voice Homelander and that's why he said no, and since that's getting to his nerves he was desperate.

Actors aren’t always a fan of voice acting , and some after their first few “sessions” they think it’s annoying or too much work because they have to say “1000” somthing lines and have to get delivery right and all of these variables , so it’s either money
Or just the sheer fact if he’s “OVER” voice acting , he might not want to do another 5 hour session of talking into a mic , it could be that simple

But it’s more the actor to voice actor difference , if you look around there’s a GOOD amount of actors who just aren’t for voice acting , see it as a lower form of acting and like it’s a waste of time (not saying this is what he thinks) or that it’s just not for them (tons of just speaking the same sentences or words into a mic, multiple takes, till the person recording is happy opposed to being on a set and acting a actual scene) , I just feel like he did it once and is over it ,could not even have much to do with money , and he has the option to say no , likely because hiring a sound alike is cheaper also so wb has no problem doing that instead

I think it’s an NDA as well personally, he’s not denying it and this response to me at least seemed like he was trying to think of something to say to get out of answering the question. Listen Caged, I think it's more a issue with COD and infinity/Actvision, they maybe forced Anthony to sign a stupid disclaimer for their game before WB approached Anthony for his likeness and voice as Homelander for MK1. This is why it is becoming such a mess for us MK fans. 😢
Homelander has a chance against Omni-man if he was cartoon instead of live action. There are elements and limitations that are present between the two media forms. Just because others could “harm” homelander doesn’t make him weaker only his opponents stronger.
Homelander doesn't stand a chance even in his cartoon version. Pretty much any character which who can put up a fight against homelander is going to win as they probably have fighting experience and fight against foes that are equally as strong as them.

Homelander is my favorite villain in all of fiction. I truly believe Antony gave one of the best performances of all time in all three seasons, and I have no doubt he'll continue his greatness in season four.
That being said, Omni Man destroyed an entire planet on his own.

I’m so pissed off with MK1 atm. I had to perfect Talisman and they took it away. This season I’ve been trying to recreate the same Talisman but I’ve massively cocked up ti the point I can’t get any further getting materials… If I spend time building a talisman then I wanna keep it. Omni Man is a cartoon. You can't compare to Homelander. With a cartoon, they have no limits. The little cartoon they had for "The Boys" isn't aimed at making it about Homelander. Just a fun thing they did. Homelander would win in live action

It's whatever. I think that since they paid these A list actor to play these characters they may not have enough for him because they also have to pay their own voice actors as well

Netherrealm has to invest in licensing the character of Homelander from both Amazon and the comic book creators, and probably their respective publishers. So they already put in a BUTT-LOAD of money toward licensing the character. So as far as acquiring Anthony himself, there would probably be a pretty large fee to pay for him to voice a character he doesn't own the rights to. To the point to where they can use his likeness because of his agreements with Amazon.
Long story short, I bet it's because of something to that effect because this would be VERY expensive to do the way the fans want it done. Considering the slough of other content they are already investing in, it becomes much more risky for them to do without raising prices on us.
Plus Amazon only JUST announced the next season of The Boys but not the release date. So it could be more expensive and time lagging for both companies to put Anthony in the right spotlight. Not really for scheduling but it could cost a lot to make it legal and worthwhile for everyone but who knows?

Most likely NRS simply don't really care about the authenticity of homelander voice. Simmons and Cena voice are very iconic, plus they don't have to deliver 100% effort for guest characters.
I took the “hey have you seen cod? I’ve voiced him in call of duty go play that” as a way of him saying “well I played him in cod so why wouldn’t I do it for mk?”
If you think about the previous Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition, you know that Arnold Schwarzenegger was not voicing The Terminator in this game. It was somebody who only sounded similar to Arnold Schwarzenegger. It happened in the past, so I'm not surprised about that.

Apparently WB low balled him with a very little amount of money. COD offered a reasonable amount but WB didn’t even give him $5k for his likeness or voice. No royalties or anything.

Well, the money COD pulls in is ludicrous compared to MK. Of course they couldn’t offer as much. It’s unfortunate that he didn’t see the value in voicing his own character, coulda had a much bigger get chance at getting more of his character into the world. It would’ve been awesome. Omni Man would kick Homelader´s ass hands down. I love Homelander but he is a kid compared to Omni Man. I dont think not having Starr to do the voice on MK1 has anything to do with money. They know people are not gonna be happy with a different actor doing Homeladers voice. Arnold´s replacement wasnt really good, you could tell it wasnt him. If they dont have Starr to voice Homelander, they shouldnt put it in the game. Homelander´s voice is a BIG part of the character.
While it is unfortunate, I feel this whole thing is overblown. When Arnie turned down the chance to voice Terminator, nobody made this big of a deal but because it didn't work out with Starr and WB, it's a big deal. Like who cares? lol I don't know what happened anymore than anyone else but I can say this much, prior to Homelander nobody knew who this guy was he's no Stallone or Arnie or Weller let's just say lol. I'm indifferent with this to be honest, it's his gameplay not his voice that will matter once he hits anyway.
I'm of a similar mind, not about Starr but about the Homelander DLC character. The Arnie impressionist was pretty good in MK11 and I'm positive they'll find someone fitting for the role for Homelander. People need to chill a bit about this, sure it's not ideal, but if the gameplay looks good, he's fun to control and good to play as, I think people will forget about the fact he's not voiced by the actual actor.
@@darklord884 Yeah as someone who has done VA work myself and Arnie impressions I think the guy did an pretty decent job honestly, you can tell it's not the real Arnold but he did alright. I have heard better and worse but he did a passable job imo, better than Fox's and Rousey's VA work. I think it's the same guy supposedly who's doing Homelander's voice if I'm not mistaken but don't quote me on that just something some people said they were going to get again since someone said they saw his name in the credits.
But yeah lol I agree people need to relax like Holy Cow they're acting like it's Optimus Prime and couldn't get Peter Cullen. I think it was highly likely just a scheduling thing and he's simply tired of the question at this point because he's answered it multiple times yet keeps getting asked.
It could be money but he was willing to sign likeness rights (which wouldn't require any of his time) so I doubt that's it. Unless for some odd reason likeness in other properties was part of his show contract and WB didn't have to negotiate with him personally.
It wouldn't even be a fair fight between Omni man and Homelander. Omni man would destroy him.
