Who knows of a good bumper guard? For the Volvo?
The Ex-guard bumper. I really like my Rand McNally headset battery that lasts 34 hours. Great sound.
Ex-guard. It’s pricey but it’s worth the money.
Ritchie bros auction starts Monday in Orlando and online. Buy, Buy, Buy!
Don't always focus on the destination of being rich etc or having everything paid and good, try to see the good in the journey, the weather, Thank God/Jesus for his blessings, you have a fully paid truck at like 30 years old? Skills that most people don't have with mechanic work, a father you connect with and work with. Time flies in life, and before you know it you'll be 50 or 60 etc.
100% true
Its more important to live smart. Have a low cost of living. No car payment.
After 50 it's 75 before you know it.
Hey Rusty it's Dano. How come your latest videos have a much lower contrast then your earlier ones did?
Love your videos bro. I’ve got no ties to the trucking industry but love learning about it and seeing the country (especially Florida). Keep grinding man. Respect!
Apple air pods hands down the best
I get about 4,7 - 4,9 mpg with my truck in Sweden, but my truck pretty much always weighs 141k+ pounds (64000kg) when it's loaded too.
Like your truck I am from Canada look at your video always I have a 2015 volvo d13 for 8 years and still running like a charm 😀
tire sensor, great thing and as you said, it can save many lives, great purchase! and as always great video👌
Stay safe out there, Rusty. Happy day is when you don't have a truck payment.
Might as well got a day cab
good to see you back! nice looking truck
2.20 a mile is tough. Especially hauling heavy loads, beats the axles/frame up and just general wear and tear. As Justin from Justtruckin would say, Know Your Worth. Get a dry-van, get established as the go to guy and you'll start getting better loads. All it takes is one wheel seal failure to eat up a hub and all that hard earned profit you made is gone and then some fixing it, even with a paid off truck at $2.20 a mile. Need to get over $3 and I know that's hard in FL.
I really look forward to watching your videos. All of the ups and downs. The changes in your work as the industry changes. I've watched almost all of them. Your shooting and editing skills, choice of music are first rate. In this video you briefly make a passing reference to talking politics. I am grateful you generally do not discuss politics. We all get too much of that elsewhere. Your use of the law enforcement flag for awhile was a passing distraction. You stated your reasons for using which was as expected. I greatly admire your positive attitude and sense of humor / irony. It is fine to discuss and share the problems you encounter. One video I would like to see is a breakdown of the total cost investment in your Volvo rebuild. What you did with that is truly impressive. The fact that it is now running as well as it is should silence all of the doubters. 2 yrs ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. After I was released from hospital during my recovery I watched the Rusty Cracker criss-crossing the USA. You helped me alot. What you are documenting in your travels is important. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you for your video, it was interesting like always. Take care of you and wish you safe trips
Hy rusty u need to get a batter disposer so he can get u more money for the lode either more money or less miles for more money .
Cannot believe people say that your truck is junk. Its thè ultimate truck by far of all trucks and, much more importantly, in you case, its totally paid for... no installments, and all those other costs you mentioned when you were hiring that one.. You Rusty, certainly have your head screwed on the right way. ... no dought about that. You need negative comments, like you need a hole in the head... Not one of your videos is boring or, the video on your face all the time like other truckers.. Keep up the good work. We love your videos.
Thank you
There will always be fanboys(especially Kenworth and Peterbilt fans). I do not drive or work on semi trucks, but I really like the Volvo VNL. Really sweet looking rig. The Mack Titan looks great too. Not a fan of the other brands.
Hey Rusty have u made a video about the total cost of rebuild yet? I really want to see that!
My 2015 I am getting 8.1 at 60 miles since I tune it up
Thanks again. Each video brings memories when I was pullin em up and down the Eastern Seaboard!
@8:37 got you hauling a garbage load 🗑 😁 just as long as they pay good 👍
Hi brother don’t worry about the hub leaks i had a brand new zero mile and i changed the hub 5 times between zero miles to 250000 miles it’s normal on the volvo my first time was on my first week out 😅 it’s crazy
Awesome intro brother! Glad to see you doing good in this trucking mess!
Im getting 4.2 mpg 😆 but I never haul less than 100,000lbs over mountains so I cant dream of 8.
Ya I’m gonna start running texas regional only.
Try doing intermodal, I’m doing that right now
Hey am a big fan from🇺🇬 am always fascinated by American big rigs
Great video again Rusty thnx.
That mileage is incredible buddy..most are getting 4.5-5.5 MAX van prices are coming down up here in upper east tennessee
Hi like your videos ... I'm from India Say Hi
Awesome
finaly find you back greetings from the netherlands😁
Getting 8 miles per gallon on a truck that’s paid off is phenomenal! You’re doing good keep up the good work!
Regional is Def the way to go; getting in with the right people so you have the loads is another thing, I love drop and hook operations.
bro all good no one has life easy we all having struggles bro say safe love you bro later
Really close to my house clicked on the video so fast love the vids man
Thanks for sharing your trials and tribulations Rusty. It gives us a peek into the life of a truck driver. It appears glamorous but glad I jobbed at something else. Stay safe.😮😅😊
I use TPMS on my dually and 5th wheel. An absolute life saver.
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
Hi BF18
Hi my friend like you videos keep it up drive safe my friend 🤠
I have a TPMS it is called my right boot.Cheapest out there.
U like your videos stay safe out there
As always, great video.
Priviet! And nice video again, keep on trucking😎
most important here is what is YOUR COST PER MILE of operation. Every different vocation has variables. At the end of your video you show revenue but it means nothing unless related to... how much capital have you got tied up to earn the revenue; insurance cost short haul power only VS out of State longer haul; having your own trailer VS using one owned by someone else; all general maintenance and truck consumables; then the big one is set aside for tires, engine ( non budget items ) transmission ( non budget items ) Also, the fuel. You used 66 gallons for 550 miles @ 8.3. Save a dollar save $66 back in your pocket or budget. SUGGESTION: At end of video a basic spreadsheet overview. I really like your videos!
I would do all that cost per mile stuff but that’s too much for my type of videos, I’m just showing people just a taste of this industry… thanks for the comment
@@TheRustyCracker Thanks for the reply. Found the truck rebuild series really interesting. I could take one apart too but that would be the end of it. A pile of parts!!
Hi Rusty🙃Thanks for the video. Yep haters gonna hate Rusty, just grab the Lords hand and go for it.....otherwise keep the faith baby!
Hang in there hopefully it will get better ☺️
What is all about the check engine light?
Lol if you watched my rebuild process of this beast you would know. Check it out!
Great.👍
I really like your video keep doing good work
Volvo 💪 I thought you did a great job rebuilding it You did rebuild right
Love your vidéos keep up ✌️
Hey Rusty, I do deliveries over here in the UK for WestRock. I tend to do the Pharmaceutical Leaflets all over the UK. They came out the other week and gave me like 20 box edges lol
😎
Hahah, when will you fix this "check engine" light?))) Thx for video, liked it.
It’s a reminder for me to check if my engine is still there.
@@TheRustyCracker :D
Doesn't the Volvo have a tire monitoring system built in?
I get 6.2 , day cab 2021 Cascadia freightliner
Aw come on, come over to flatbed man! 😂. It's horrible and awesome at the same time!!
bro plz check your equipment/camera cause your last 3videos are coming out kind of darkish/greyish?duno butthey are kind of funny..as always ty for the ride.. cheers from greece
nice video
those airpods made the side of my head feel weird id get a headache after wearing them i think they were giving me a tumor
Same too, lf l wear 2 pods in ear it gives me severe headache so lm using only 1 earbud on my right, so you can try that method
I do a lot westrock. Normally I drop and hook another one.. normally I don't have eny problem just make sure trailer is clean dry and floor is very good .
Live long and Volvo 🖖
I love PO !!!
Power Unit Itself is called a Tractor
👍
Nice truck Volvo rules
Long time no see Rusty.... 🙌
If I was ever to get into trucking, I would do local or regional, no OTR!
Thinking about moving to the Sarasota/Bradenton in next year or two and getting a truck to drive owner operator how are the local loads out of Florida are they getting better?
Word is the Florida loads never have been and still aren’t that great. Northern Midwest is better in rates.
Sign up for us Xpress we pay decent
NEW VIDEO AMAZING 👍
Thanks 😁
Hey what’s up bro how are you
Hello. Are you going south on 95 today with a Ups rail container?
Hyy bro have been waiting
Just keep them wheels spinning earn them dollars 💵
Does blackrock have dedicated lanes?
So you just focus on the southeast regions? What states do you try and stay in?
I try not to go past 700 miles from from. Which is 1 day run. Thanks for your question
From from? 700 one way or round trip?
I hear crap all the time about not being able get it done focusing in the south east. Do you of some decent companys..I would like to be running landscape or a similar gig in a few years
As a driver in Australia I can feel your pain with traffic
I do as fair amount of work in and around Sydney some days I can take 2.5 hours to get there some days it’s 3.5 hours
Do you not have the options for curtain side trailers in the states
Rusty sell the Volvo and work as a dump truck driver good money and pays by hour not by mile
Love to vids but I have an issue not a big one but the way you place your camera I would like if you center it of like mount it on your head that's all.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK👍
Will you ever go back otr even just in the south eastern us
Maybe
Hi Body, did you explore the Container buisness.....they are busy always....and Jacksonville has a big container /Train terminal...you don't need a trailer..or replace trailer tires....about the diesel filters....dosent last more then 5.000 miles lately....I run midwest...and need a lot of condtioners...to avoid gel....but even runing south ...last the same
Great vid like always !
What mic do you use for your videos ?
Just a quick question, do you dispatch yourself or someone else does it for you.
@14:50 some of my cars get worse gas mileage than your truck
2018 volvo 780 500hp+3.08 6.1😂
Why your check engine light is on.
Watch my rebuild vidoes on the Volvo
Would be interesting to know if owner operator is still paying more than you would have been getting driving for the company you started with? I guess rates for drivers have dropped too?
I was born into the industry, now 50, and in my opinion, being a company driver is the way to go. After expenses, our owner operators aren't making much more than our company drivers, and while our company drivers are relaxing at home on their days off, our owner operators are working on their trucks. I guess you just have to decide whether or not all of the extra hassle is worth a little bit more money. Another thing to consider is the extra legal liability that you will be taking on by operating your own rig.
@@321gates yeah that's what I suspected. Thanks for the reply
You probably put 2.5 times more fuel than you actually needed. If you can average 1000 - 1200$ a day 5/6 days a week and be home at the end of the day. I’ll take that. Every week.
Florida traffic is always bad
Rusty can you finally figure out & fix that engine light in your dashboard? Yeah you mentioned it in your previous videos but man you already ran more miles when you bought that truck, so fixed it dude.
Dude you should run produce out of Florida to NYC ..big bucks!!
@Happy News If you say so! 😆
Sorry but I don’t go up to the north east. They don’t like us truckers so they won’t have me up there,
@TheRustyCracker c'mon they love you! Lol
U go home everyday?
Why your video so dark?
As a biker, appreciate if you take those knifes off your front tires... Be safe out there!
As a fellow “biker” myself also, I don’t understand?
Haters are lonely people looking for attention.
Hey got a question
Why don't you have a partner?
Buy a reefer
No way you make any money staying in the state of FL!!! Post your settlement sheets or shut up!
You got a really bad truck. We had one once it hits 100k to 200k electrical problems like crazy
