Hey i just want to make sure i got this right before taking the road tomorrow. I need to do the same thing.
I have a french passport, i can just get to the border and apply for a visa to enter laos on the spot and then come back to vietnam right ? cause some people say i need to go to the laos embassy and apply for a visa over there
OK, I can only advise as we have travelled that way.. but yes, no problem, you just arrive and stamp in and out of each county.. it takes about 1 hour walking between offices collecting your exit and entry stamps.. Then you are back in Vietnam with another 45 day stamp 😃 If you take 2 passport photos with you, you can also save a few dollars 💸

@davidbrown4271 For UK passports it's 45 but you can check online as the US may have different rules.. both your countries have a history together...
