❤️❤️ Love, love, love your videos. Thank you! I cry as I watch your beautiful black carbon bow sprit and know it is now garbage, but celebrate that both you & Outremer worked to build a fix and continue on your adventure. 😊
Epic, absolutely epic video! Thank you so much for all the efforts you two put into the making of your videos. Stellar results. We are all so fortunate to be able see your travels documented with such style… Greetings from Anacortes.
It does require a lot of effort, we did enjoy seeing everything ourselves again and looking back on the first year. Seems like ages ago that we started in France as so many things happened in just a year
A great sailing adventure well told with wonderful narration. It is great to be able to share the highs and the lows and conquer adversity when Neptune strikes with storms and even boat collision in the middle of the night. Through all this you kept your cool proving that your no stress approach works. Keep it up for your world navigation and we look forward to sharing your odyssey of a lifetime with you. Thanks and all the best. Steve
Wow. Great video. Time really flies. Thank you Mark and Marijka for your commitment for bringing us along on your journey. We are so blessed to have you guys. We love you and looking forward to the next video. Stay safe and smooth sailing.
I spent the evening watching your beautiful video, enjoying the pace, feel and adventure of your epic journey. Thank you for spending the time to show your journey, good and bad.
@@CatGreatcircle Yeah, I think a lot of us do. I had surgery on my foot last Thursday then somehow managed to take a spill on my staircase and broke that same foot. You can make a 4 hour episode and your mother in-law and I will still watch it in its entirety. I've got nothing but time now.
@@CatGreatcircle In the scheme of things it's not a big setback, the broken foot will heal before the tendons. Greatcircle is such an incredible machine/home and you do an amazing job capturing her in all her glory. I love watching your videos.

What a great compilation! Great choice of music also. Been following every episode since purchase of new Outremer 55. You guys just make some of best sailing videos !

Great video…even a year later. Thanks for sharing your journey. I have a question about that boat damaging your bow sprit: How was the repair paid for? Insurance? Did that company that owned that boat that hit you pay for it? Or did you have to pay out of your pocket? Curious who pays for such accidents when at sea or moored.
The insurance of the other boat did pay but only up to the max sum insured which was ridiculously low for a commercial boat like that. It’s better not to be hit 🙈
@@CatGreatcircle thanks so much for your reply. That's awesome Outremer has a Rapid Response Team that will literally fly to your location and make repairs! I suppose other high-end yacht makers (Oyster, HR) have similar services. I agree, better not to be hit! Was their max amount enough to cover the repair? I'm asking these questions to better understand my future potential expenses and plan for them. Thanks again for answering!
Hi, wondered if you can offer some guidence on type/model of lifejackets you use. Do you perhaps have two types depending on say severity of conditions and whether offshore or open ocean? Videos always enjoyable and super quality. Tks, paul

It’s pretty boring right now waiting on the captain to arrive before we can go sailing again 🙈😎. Usually though the combination of the actual sailing and exploring new places brings more than enough excitement. Even the longer crossings are not boring at all, being in a rally does help too.
Your videos are always wonderful and extremely inspiring! One question now that 1 year has passed since launching: which antifouling are you using and how it performs after 1 year? How long do you plan it to last / when do you think to redo it? Super fair winds! Daniele
The original antifouling from the factory was Nautix A88. Worked fine during the first year but needed replacement then. It’s not available in French Polynesia so we had to switch now to Seajet 039 and because they don’t have it in black either to greenish grey like we had on the Lagoons. On the Lagoon we had to do it again every 2 years.
@@CatGreatcircle Thank you very much for your quick and kind reply. Highly appreciated! Actually, we were going to apply the Seajet 039 too; it is very comforting that you had a good experience with it and that you are going to renew it. Super fair winds and hope to cross path with you soon. We really love your videos and even more the way and style by which you approach all this. You both are amazing! Our most sincere congratulations
@@CatGreatcircle No option to use CopperCoat? I'm hearing from other boats they have excellent results from it. I suspect it might be an issue for the environment, as it releases copper ions to the water (that's what kills the growth), on the other hand, all the other antifouling paints are also poisonous as heck...
Yes some people are really happy with it when it is applied in the right way. I don’t like the colour and for our usage period there is no financial benefit
If your worried about the missing batten, the next port have a wooden one made for you to sew in till you get another from a sailmaker ,any carpenter will make one to your specifications , and don’t worry it doesn’t hurt proformace of the sail ! ,
The 5X is 30 cm wider overall and the transoms and bows are longer. On the 55 the headroom is better. The rest is about the same. The interior space on the 55 somehow feels bigger, probably because of the big sliding doors and the extra headroom. The 360 vision on the 55 from the inside is much better.

Sometimes I am just not smart enough to understand the deep feedback I am getting. This was our 7th year at sea, or actually 6 as we had to wait for our current boat to be finished. Reflecting on that it was the best SAILING year but other years are competitive in total as well, especially sailing in Norway and in Greece
Because we like space and comfort as well and we were anchored once in front of Rapido 60 INEFFABLE in Sint Maarten before and couldn’t sleep on our boat because of the constant slamming of the third hull on the water

No, we could but the water maker functions best if you use it often
