After watching the movie I had come to the conclusion that the parents were using the doll to talk to Brahms since talking to nothing would be weirder also when you really think about it the rules for the doll make a lot more sense especially the part where the mother emphasized on being louder so Brahms could hear. (that’s what I got from it at least I don’t know if that’s what they were going for)
