KIM, this is so beautiful and I feel so smart since you taught us something I’ve never seen or done before. I thank you so much for sharing,....love, love, love.❤️
You are such a wonderful, generous person. It's as if you discover a technique and you can't wait to show everyone else how. It's rare in this day and age to find someone who genuinely loves sharing as much as Yourself! I think Ara at Bentley house said something to this effect and it's so true! Thanks for this!
Heather, . I am a street organ maker, and meeting with your art gave an idea to use your art technology for decorating my organs. Thank you for that! And by the way, your voice is as beautiful as your art! I watch your UA-cam instructions like a touching Hollywood movie.
My friend: thank you for this lovely message...I am imagining your glorious street organs embellished with all manner of charming motifs..it thrills me to think that a bit of my madness is included in your work. Thank you so very much for leaving me this wonderful gift. 😘
Okay, so this one was a little girly...but I learned a lot and I love your eye. Your project gestalts always have a nuanced look of age and interesting design. That is, everything comes together nicely in the end. When I was in my 40's the creative ideas flowed like water that I couldn't shut off. Now in my late 70's they flow, but do better with inspiration. Few designers inspire me, but you do. It is your eye for harmonious detail in design that nails it.
I have recently come across your videos, and you are now my favourite altered art channel, love EVERYTHING you do! Thanks so much for your amazing tutorials, and your soothing presentation.
Again you are one smart lady,,really enjoyable to watch and learn from,,i will watch all your videos,,most inspiring women ive ever seen,,you even have this spooky voice,,we even turn the lights down low everytime i watch your vids lol,,it adds a touch of spookness to the way you demonstrate ,,,,luv it
Omg Heather, you've inspired me again! I have, no kidding, about 100 cigar boxes but didn't know what to do with them. I just loved them and knew they were going to be useful. THANK YOU for sharing this cool technique!
OH MY GOODNESS! I'll be right there, Kathy - I can't possibly leave a friend burdened with all those cigar boxes 😜 ! There are SO many wonderful things we can do with cigar boxes!!! And with your vision, they will become ART, of that, I have no doubt. xox
Heather, when cutting trims that fray badly, I apply a thin coat of pva glue where I want to make the cut to the front and back. Once dry, cut the trim and that will remedy the fraying. Hope that helps.
This is so beautiful and inspiring . I have tried to find the wood cigar boxes and have had not luck . I started a list of things to design for me . All inspired by you . When your confined to your home because of health reasons . It helps to make things to keep myself busy . Thank you so much for your wonderful videos !
Keeping ourselves busy is so important, Elisabeth. I'm so happy to know that you find some inspiration here! Thank you for spending your time with me, girl. Sending you good vibes. 💗
This is absolutely AMAZING!!! I can’t recall if I’ve already commented to say that, since I keep coming back and watching this video over and over. I am IN LOVE with that gorgeous box you made!! I want to make some for gifts!! I only hope they can be half as beautiful as yours (with practice, I’m sure!). I really had no idea there was even such a thing as latex caulk or that it could go into silicone molds. Your creations are breathtaking and inspiring!!! Also, your voice is SO soothing, which is just a bonus to watching your videos!! Thanks so much for sharing your expertise with us! I’m subscribing now too!
These embellishments are genius because, well, you're a genius. I'm so very grateful for your videos; I've learned so very much. I don't know if you pick up more glue and ick on your hands than I do. I think I'm the world's champion. I've had goo and gluey stuff on my hands that soap, water, and scrub brush, even a metal pot scrubber, couldn't completely remove. Going now to look at my hoard of cigar boxes!!! Thanks, Heather!!! You da bomb, girl!!!
Haha! I thought I was the only one who resorted to metal pot scrubbers! I also use sandpaper, when all else fails. 😂Thank you for your kind word, glittermama - I wish you knew how very much it means to me that you've learned from the videos - that is my whole entire WHY! xox
Sandpaper! Aha! great idea! Having taught writing and lit many years, I do know how much it means to hear someone's actually learned something!! Be assured; you are a treasure! baci, Dolores
The Metallique Waxes are very high quality, Matt...and once they have cured, they are permanent and resistant to moisture. Try a bit on a test piece, and let me know what you think.
OMG. I've been looking for Gothic/Renaissance Christmas decor ideas and these roundels will be perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us.
Nancy! Thank you so much for loving the medallions - I had a suspicion that my friends would like 'em, too! Yay! Oh, and my mind works well, as long as it's not expected to balance a checkbook! 💗😜💗
Oh my gosh. Just found you today under my recommendations. Absolutely stunning! I went to your list to see where to purchase the latex lace and......this is something you make? Wow. Just subscribed!
Fantastic, Anastasia! I just know you'll find a zillion ways you can use this one, my friend. Thank YOU for sharing your precious time with me! Big hugs right back! xox
You know I must comment: another great project. I am so happy when I get notified that Heather uploaded a video. And what’s even better is most of your projects use products I already have at home. No need to go broke buying stamps and ink. I think this is my favorite besides the latex lace and the one with the triple thick coloring and probably the one before that. But still, all your projects are truly works of art. Mine do not looks half as good as yours do, but I’m working on it. And finally, I had to laugh when you called yourself the glue geek. I think in my studio I have every type of white glue, clear glue, glue sticks, tape runners, two sided sticky stuff.....my husband just shakes his head. I like to be prepared.
Yay! Us Glue Geeks have to stick together, Kimberly...(see what I did there? 😂) Yep, if it's sticky, I NEED it in my life! And I am so glad to know that you enjoy using the stuff you have around the house, my friend...that's where all my best ideas come from, girl! xox
Hi Diana! If you find anything here inspirational, then I'm a happy girl. Creativity is such a blessing, and sharing it with my friends makes it even more valuable! Thank you so much for your kindness, my friend. xox
Here's the thing, my lovely friend: YOU are absolutely awesome! It makes me SO happy to read your excitement: it tells me volumes about the Creativity within you, clambering to put this technique to use - and that is fabulous! Thank you for being here, @Glenda Spurs! xoxo
Another wow, you are amazing! The things you come up with , what a creative mind. I would love to try this technique, I have a friend that tried this out but using hot glue I will definitely share this video with her.
Hot glue is amazing stuff, and for certain types of 3D work it is perfect. I have a very difficult time controlling it to the same degree that is possible with this mixture, though. I'm very pleased that you like the idea, Sandra. xoxo
Hi Kim! I'm so glad you enjoyed it...and that's a good idea - I'll think about demonstrating basic compartment construction techniques. Thank you for watching. xox
Girl ! You never cease to amaze me with you creative talent. Loved this video ! Beautiful end result...a work of art. Thanks so much for taking the time to share. ❤
Thank you for sharing this...watching and listening to your experiments, tips and technique ideas has given me inspiration for a new journal cover...thanks for your creative generosity! Dx
Hi Michelle! Hope you are enjoying the summer. We're out around the fire pit every evening that we can be - wish you were here! And, for Pete's sake - you can hardly call THIS fussy cutting! 💗😜💗
WOW!!! (couldn't help myself) I love, love, love everything about this video, and that cigar box is awesome...... "Wild thang... you make a my heart sang... you make ever thang...." look so much better.... maybe this little dose of inspiration will tide me over for a day or two.... 'til the next installment... :)
Hi Bets: joint compound is used to seal the seams between sheets of drywall (gypsum board) when constructing interior walls. It is also known as Polyfilla. Hope this helps!
I’ve just discovered your channel and I’m blown away! Thank-you so much for sharing these techniques, the possibilities are endless! You explain everything so well, and your voice is so very calming. The latex lace omg 😮 I’m in love 😍 I can’t wait to start creating my own 3D embellishments.🙏😊🌷
Hi @ wenn carne ! I am so pleased that you are enjoying the videos / quirky methods - thank you. I love that phrase: endless possibilities....ah... I hope you'll have as much fun with these processes as I have, my friend. xoxo
Heather, you have done it again girl! I appreciate your detail in tutorials, close photography, and so on. But then you up the ante by showing that your piping isn't perfect, and that has its own beauty. Stay cool.
Haha! Imperfect piping is my specialty, girl! 😜 Imperfect EVERYTHING! I am so in awe of the craftspeople who can create those super-clean, perfectly detailed pieces - beyond my capabilities, I'm afraid. So, I say, let's just embrace our natural inclinations, and celebrate the messiness! Woo hoo! Thank you so much for your kind encouragement: it means the world to me. You ROCK, Pamela! 😍
This may be the coolest thing ever!!!! Do you know if you can put this stuff in a mold??? It IS rather intimidating!! But you said not to worry. Just do it! So I will give it a try. Great instructions too. I'm new to your channel. But this blew me away!!! So unique. Thank you for the video. Austin, TX USA
Thank you for your kindness - embellishing is fun stuff, Barbara. I wouldn't recommend using this mixture as a casting medium, however: too brittle. If you want to cast intricate, shallow forms (like a lace mold), I recommend using caulk as detailed here: ua-cam.com/video/48ikM32uqk4/v-deo.html
@@Thicketworks Thank you for the info. I've never done casting except in metal. But it looks fun. I thought your video on ivory was genius!!! You are a clever girl!!!
Question Heather......what should I use to seal my paper with before piping since i know my printer is inkjet and I’m not sure it’ll bleed but just in case. I’d rather be safe because I don’t have time or patience to mess it up and redo it. I already work with some slight physical disabilities and have to redo things 10x so adding in most other screwups and usually mentally I shut down. Lol. So....I’m going to seal my paper first! Love your channel, it gives me so much peace to watch. Thank you.
Hello, my friend. I totally understand about the frustration of having to cope with 're-do's'...I'd grab the cheapest clear SPRAY sealer that you can get your hands on. Test on an inkjet printed piece of paper before committing...seal, then brush over the surface with a damp paintbrush to verify that the ink is stabilized. If one light coat doesn't do it - allow the first coat to dry, then spray on another. Brushing on a sealer will tend to smear the ink - so spray! xoxo
My favorite part was the end watching you embellish the cigar box. Do you have a tutorial on making the box. I must admit I am a box-aholic! This is a neat technique, love it. Another kool awesome technique too add to creating. I really feel the design when the colors come in to play. Thank you.
Hi Kelly! This technique is so fun to experiment with - perfect for altered furniture, Mixed Media Canvases and of COURSE altered boxes... I'd like to produce a tutorial about how to alter a cigar box / create compartments, etc. in the next few months. Plate is super full ATM, but it's in the pipeline, girl! xoxo
You could read a book aloud about chemistry and i would still find it relaxing. If you ever market a line of meditations, I'll be first in line to purchase. 😂😂 obviously your art is just as amazing. You take tasks that seem so complicated and turn them into easy projects. Thank you!!
Hey Jenn...I'm glad to hear that the projects / techniques are presented in a way that makes them less daunting - that is really helpful feedback. Thank you! Thanks for being so kind about the whole voice thing - I think most of us have a hard time listening to our own voices - I'm no exception 😂
I LOVE YOU!!! I've just discovered this video yesterday but I've already revisited it at least 4 times to keep going back to your list of items used. I love everything you make -it is 1000% exactly up my alley, I adore it Your voice is so soothing, have to admit I was already tired yesterday night when I found your video and you put me right to sleep, it was a struggle but the video was so insightful I wanted to watch it all so bad so I fought it and stayed awake lol Can't wait to watch all of your other content. I'm sure this is going to be one of those times where I have to pace myself so I don't binge watch it all in a few days Edit I just downloaded all of your free templates and will be trying to make some embellishments with them today. So glad we upgraded to a laser printer last year. And I've already tested running the neenah cardstock throug it and it works beautifully. I don't have any chipboard or joint compound but I'll be making a stand in concoction until I get my new tacky glue and some compound. Thanks so much for sharing. This has got me super excited!
Dear @PewPewCat - how lovely to find this wonderful encouragement here today: thank you. It warms the heart to hear the excitement and enthusiasm in your words - the fact that you understand WHY these little things are so exciting means that we are on the same wavelength, and I'm delighted to make your acquaintance! Thank you again for the kind words, and I hope you enjoy the process as much as I do. xoxo
I just love your tutorials. I wish you had videos more often but everyone has another life. I have been decorating boot boxes, larger shoe boxes. This technique is about to be part of my boxes. You may be interesting in these boxes. I get them from Cato's. They just toss them out.
Hi Susan! Thank you for the tip about the boxes from Cato's...I'll have to check that out: boxes are an obsession! I'd love to upload more often, too. It seems to take me several days to complete a project, and a couple more to edit the videos, so about once per week is all I can accomplish, (so far!) I'm considering doing Live Streams from time to time...that would eliminate the editing time...but it might be boring to just watch me noodle around...not sure. What do you think? xox
Heather Tracy Boring? I don't think so. These techniques are very different to what I usually see. I love watching the people I subscribe to, I'm not trying to be rude to them. But since this is different I think a live video would be well received. One lady I watch, aljohn, is doing a series and tells you what supplies to get for the next one. People might could do this with you. I would.
This is so cool! Will give this a try once I get the latex castings technique down. Odered some new lace looking molds, but may have got ahead of myself by ordering one that is in the design of a peacock. Lol! Thanks for sharing your creative works and talents! 😍
Wow! A peacock? Girl, you ARE ambitious! I love that. Latex Lace is SO fun to work with - it's totally worth the learning curve, Angela. Thank you for watching, my friend! xox
These are stunning, Lady!! I can see this in many applications in my upcycling artsy endeavors but my heart is always thinking "CAKE!!" LoL I am a pastry artist at heart... and I can see these used in edible creations, with a few modifications in application. It's amazing what you come up with & how it tugs at my creative heartstrings! Thank you so much for this! ✌💜😊
Hey there, @Happenstance Furniture & Sundries - I love your energy! So full of creative enthusiasm - that's AWESOME! Thank YOU for leaving such a fantastic message, my friend. 💗😘💗
I think that this has an excellent chance of working - I would just test out a small amount of the paint to see if it will peel off cleanly, then GO for it! xoxo
Woo Hooo! My Sophisticated Finishes came in today! Thanks for sharing this Heather, and thanks so much for the shared images. I'll be making these this weekend! The only thing I don't have is the needle tip applicator bottle, I have a really fine tip plastic one. Is there a reason you use the metal ones?
Well, that is wonderful news, Colleen! I just know that you'll love working with those finishes as much as I do. I thought I responded to this but it seems to have disappeared: the reason I like the metal tipped bottles is because they allow for finer application, and they are easier for me to squeeze: not so much hand fatigue. xoxo
Hi Carol! I grab mine at the local Tobacconist - they charge me $2 per box. Call around to the Tobacco Stores in your area and see if they would be willing to sell you some - they are so much fun to use for storage! xoxo
KIM, this is so beautiful and I feel so smart since you taught us something I’ve never seen or done before. I thank you so much for sharing,....love, love, love.❤️
Oh my goodness how have I never found you before! I love your creations....right up my street❤️

Hey Angie! That's so nice to hear, girl...I hope you found it useful, my friend. xox
Great idea, love!
Thank you, my friend....One of my all time favorites, Annie. So simple, so cheap - but so cool! xoxo
WOW!!! (couldn't help myself) I love, love, love everything about this video, and that cigar box is awesome...... "Wild thang... you make a my heart sang... you make ever thang...." look so much better.... maybe this little dose of inspiration will tide me over for a day or two.... 'til the next installment... :)
It's Shirley! Hey woman! And as always, thank you for the giggle and for the encouragement - it means the world to me, my friend. xox
a very well put together video
Thank you kindly, @Sonja Gaffer - that is very generous of you. xoxo
Tracey,
Please educate - what is joint compound?
Thanks,
Bets
Hi Bets: joint compound is used to seal the seams between sheets of drywall (gypsum board) when constructing interior walls. It is also known as Polyfilla. Hope this helps!
I’ve just discovered your channel and I’m blown away! Thank-you so much for sharing these techniques, the possibilities are endless! You explain everything so well, and your voice is so very calming. The latex lace omg 😮 I’m in love 😍 I can’t wait to start creating my own 3D embellishments.🙏😊🌷
Hi @
wenn carne !
Imperfect EVERYTHING!

Brushing on a sealer will tend to smear the ink - so spray! xoxo
marvellous work as usual love it
Thank you, my friend. I hope it's useful to you, dear Sylvia! xox
Plate is super full ATM, but it's in the pipeline, girl! xoxo
Love this!!!
Yay! I hope you have as much fun with it as I do, Tara! xox
I love everything you make -it is 1000% exactly up my alley, I adore it
Your voice is so soothing, have to admit I was already tired yesterday night when I found your video and you put me right to sleep, it was a struggle but the video was so insightful I wanted to watch it all so bad so I fought it and stayed awake lol
Can't wait to watch all of your other content. I'm sure this is going to be one of those times where I have to pace myself so I don't binge watch it all in a few days
Edit
I just downloaded all of your free templates and will be trying to make some embellishments with them today.
Thank you again for the kind words, and I hope you enjoy the process as much as I do. xoxo
Great idea !!!!! I loved
Hi Suzan! Fabulous - there are endless possibilities with this technique, my friend. xox
FabYOUlous! That's my girl!
Hey Sherlene! Good to hear from you, my friend...hope all is well with you and yours. xox
Hey, I meant to tell you that I love your frog.
Flower frog, for those who are wondering, "WHAT frog!?!"
😂
It's wonderful! I love it!!!
Awesome! So happy that you do, Ms251068! xox
Thank you for watching, my friend! xox
Thanks for tutorials,you are best!!!
Thank YOU, Sanja - I appreciate your kindness, my friend. xox
This is SO stunning!!! Thank you so much for sharing :) xx
Fantastic! So happy you liked it, my friend. Thank YOU for taking the time to watch!
Очень круто!!! 👍👍👍
Hi Tracy, could you use these prints under a plastic sheet and use 3D dimensions paint to create and peel off the plastic when it's dry?
I think that this has an excellent chance of working - I would just test out a small amount of the paint to see if it will peel off cleanly, then GO for it! xoxo
Woo Hooo! My Sophisticated Finishes came in today! Thanks for sharing this Heather, and thanks so much for the shared images. I'll be making these this weekend! The only thing I don't have is the needle tip applicator bottle, I have a really fine tip plastic one. Is there a reason you use the metal ones?
Well, that is wonderful news, Colleen! I just know that you'll love working with those finishes as much as I do. I thought I responded to this but it seems to have disappeared: the reason I like the metal tipped bottles is because they allow for finer application, and they are easier for me to squeeze: not so much hand fatigue. xoxo
@@Thicketworks UA-cam has been wonky as of late :)
Fantabulous!
Yay! Thank you so much for watching, buckythewonderhorse! xox
Exquisite
This Absolutely Awesome- I live it xoxoxo
Hi Maria! So pleased that you like it, my friend! Thank you! xox
Where did you get your cigar boxes from?. I would love to get my hands on some I need some more boxes to put my other beads I'm running out of space
Hi Carol! I grab mine at the local Tobacconist - they charge me $2 per box. Call around to the Tobacco Stores in your area and see if they would be willing to sell you some - they are so much fun to use for storage! xoxo
Just beautiful x
Love this a lot...thank you Heather❤❤❤ I'm a glue geek too...lol
Yay! Glue Geeks UNITE, girl! 😃😆😍
