Thanks for uploading this video. I have hyundai Sonata 2017 SE model. This issue came 3 weeks ago in my car. I found this video and showed it to my mechanic. He understood the issue and change the small part of VCM kit as mentioned in video. He charged me 274$ in total. It was done ine few hours. Its been more than a week since repair, the issue hasnt come yet, so its been solved. I have bluelink services hence I called Hyundai service center and explained them issue they were giving appointment after 2 mobths. Hyundai service centre is completely useless hence I went to local mechanic option. Thanks a lot for this video.

Yes, I bough the detail on secondary market, it needs for high engine speeds, this vavle makes shorter or longer contour for intake manifold For the first time, I drove without this valve and everything was fine I can’t give you the number of detail due to I didn’t find any signs on the detail :( except the number of plastic material.. I recommend to find some info in blueprints on Kia website
This Kia must have been purchased used.... This would have been covered under the 5 year 60,000 mile part of the warranty. The warranty Is not transferable. I own the same car.
This is a 2016 Kia Optima with 46k? Doesn't this vehicle have a 10 year 100k warranty that would repair this vehicle free? Or is the customer unaware of this warranty unless this vehicle has a salvage title?
@@ronijr4918 After spending 15 years as a mechanic at a Chevrolet Dealer, there Is no such thing as a bumper to bumper warranty. Bulbs are not covered, wiper blades are not covered, Maintenance items are not covered, adjustments are not covered. I didn't know whether he/she was the original owner or not. But it still never hurts to ask a dealer.

When its a newer car i usually o after TSBs first, find the quickest way to the answer specially when flagging.

Went to fix a flat and they wanted to replace the transmission. That was 5 years ago and the transmission is still running strong.

That's the problem you get from GDI engines and no oil catch can installed with bad gasoline and ignoring oil changes.

I feel so bad for owners. Today, I saw the 3rd one in 3 weeks. Unreal. It is not a cheap repair and this poor guy has 62k miles. It's a shame.

They could’ve taken to dealer cuz if it’s a Kia then it falls under the 100k mile warranty
That only applies to the original owner. If it was bought used then the standard bumper to bumper warranty applies.

Yes some vehicles have bumper to bumper warranty, 12/12k covers everything, bulbs,brakes wipers,clutches.
These theta engines are junk man.. problems with oil consumption, electrical wiring is crap, all sorts of problems.
