I just realized that klaus’s tarot cards were the lovers card (Ben & Jen), the tower card (loss of self control), and the death card (for obvious reasons) basically telling us what was going to happen for the rest of the season 😮
The last card was actually the ten of swords. The nearing completion or completion of a thought, idea, endeavor, etc. Sort of a meta bit. He just calls it the card of death bc that's a typical interpretation of it, while the actual Death card is just a general large change, not only a literal death.
The lovers represent balance (balanced world without them in it), the tower represents chaos and destruction in their context and the last card was ten of swords actually, which can mean a lot of things: betrayal, failure, saying goodbye, no way out and similar. Death also doesn't represent litera death :)
I believe people are annoyed about lila and five's relationship because they didn't do a good job in making it feel like they were alone together for 6 and a half years, and that they began to lose hope of ever coming home. ALSO I wished they would've showed more of the characters using their powers as we barely see it and that really sucked, and it was quite rushed, and any character development was all rushed entirely, which make this final season feel quite terrible, I wished they did 10 episodes or more with the same story but whilst zooming in on some parts for more longer than an episode such as luther and Diego's time in the CIA, which would've made the whole season so much better. But at the end of the day I'm glad we even got a final season even though it was bad and took over 2 years 😊
Honestly, I don't think I would have liked the lila x five thing even if they'd spent more time with it. My main issue is that it was just unnecessary. Them getting stuck for that long essentially led to nothing in the plot. I'd rather just have the one scene of five finding the other five's and leave it at that, giving time to other plot devices. Or give the train a greater purpose than just "this is our way into a ship that no one asked for". At least Allison's character regression in season 3 held a purpose with her being low enough to help reggie in his scheme. We got an idea of how low and desperate she was, and there were two seasons worth of showing how she ended up there. Five and Lila? Literally nothing to add to the overall issue/resolution. The only thing it did was led to a lack of closure between both of them and Diego, even up to their end. Oh, and also led to Five...abandoning his family during their final battle? Which s1-3 five would never, EVER do??
On top of that there was no reason for Five and Lila to have a relationship, it didn’t do anything for the story and it was only there for two episodes. On top of that it just felt like there was no charcter development with any of the characters and they all just died without any resolution. If they were going to die at least give them character development, it just makes it feel so pointless. They all just reverted to how they were before and just died. There’s nothing wrong with them dying at the end if they actually wrote the characters well and gave them a resolution. But nothing. 😭
But also the irl age gap is also a reason why I can’t stand the ship, it just makes me so uncomfortable that the writers have been planning this since s3 and essentially waited until Aidan was legal to do the storyline. This whole storyline is so out of character for Five and Lila. Five and Lila would never betray Diego like that. This season was a mess
@@morganphillips5878 i feel like all it did was give five something to hold onto while he died. the entire show was just him busting his ass from timeline to tmeline tryna save his ungrateful ass family who ended up blaming him and yelling at him every season. and he still loved them. i feel like he needed one thing that was JUST HIS to hold onto that he didnt need to connect to his family's survival or the bloody apocalypses while he was erased from existence. and lila gave him that. she was the only possible person that they could make him have a romance arc w because itroducing a new character into the gang that was all ab family would seem too rushed, so i feel like in the end they just stuck him with lila to give him SOMETHING to hold onto. even if it was his brothers wife but diego and lila were having problems from before that and lila and five were also trapped together for six years, feelings are bound to develop. and same, the fact that diego and five died thinking the worst of each other kills me they both deserved the very very best my heart aches for them both.

Was this season perfect? Fuck no! Was I able to go with the flow and enjoy 6 hours of chaos with the characters I love? Absolutely. Plus, it was really cathartic to watch these characters deal with death and futility throughout the series. Almost dying to cancer is a relatively unique experience, especially for people under 30, but oddly enough I felt like Umbrella Academy kind of understood that feeling. The siblings had to accept that the life they each wanted might not be possible, that they will lose people they love forever, the world is changing and potentially ending and there is nothing anyone can do about it, and that at the end of the day nothing matters but themselves and their loved ones. I felt that. With the show's characters I stared into Oblivion, and still had some laughs. I'll always love The Umbrella Academy for that.

Five and Lila meeting the sparrow academy. Klaus become a psychic medium for a criminal. Mrs Hargreaves just suddenly becoming evil and taking people's faces out of nowhere. It's like a bunch of random short stories that's endearing because of the jokes and meme-able moments

Ok don’t hate me but I didn’t watch S2. So I never was invested in Diego and Lila’s relationship. From Five’s standpoint, with him constantly being by himself in a world of (literally) one, I can imagine that he truly appreciated finally being accompanied by the presence of someone else. Granted, it wasn’t under the greatest circumstances. But I’m sure he had no idea whether it was gonna be another 45 years again if he would find his family 🤷♀️ I definitely believe Lila when she said it was for survival. So for me, I did not think this was a far fetched plot. I did hate that Diego and Five left the world under stressed and torn issues…
As confusing as these last two seasons have been… I actually loved this season a lot more than season three. I loved how much they focused on character relationships instead of just turning every scene into a gag for laughs. My biggest complaint was how short the season was. There were SO many cool storylines but no time to flesh them out. (I also hated how they only cared about klaus when he was sober and then the second he became immortal again practically no one cared about his safety or wellbeing…) :(

I HATED the entire time he was “kidnapped” and I really felt like people weren’t taking the fact that he was SA seriously at all… that was not entertaining to watch and it was so sad seeing how much progress he made..only for him to chose drugs over money which would have paid for his freedom. It just seemed like they didn’t know what to do with him. 😣

This season was chaos and not in a good way but the thing that annoys me is that the ten of swords is not a death card, not exactly, there's an actual literal death card so why didn't they use that? The ten of swords usually represents painful endings but not death, it is an ending you may grieve over but you will eventually move on from and perhaps to happier times so with that in mind, I choose to believe they didn't get erased and got to move on to their version of "heaven" or will be reborn as normal people in the correct timeline with no recollection of their past lives. It's a better end than just being erased because they're all at fault for causing the apocalypse which didn't fully make sense to me.

@@maysun3752how is it gross. They were both consenting adults and it wasn’t some of that dark romance sh*t literally everyone is obsessed with. It was a wholesome yet heartbreaking relationship. The actors kissed because they were okay with it and because it’s their literal job and the characters were stuck with each other for 7 years. It was either they got together to experience some happiness or actually go insane.

Ok don’t hate me but I didn’t watch S2. So I never was invested in Diego and Lila’s relationship. From Five’s standpoint, with him constantly being by himself in a world of (literally) one, I can imagine that he truly appreciated finally being accompanied by the presence of someone else. Granted, it wasn’t under the greatest circumstances. But I’m sure he had no idea whether it was gonna be another 45 years again if he would find his family 🤷♀️ I definitely believe Lila when she said it was for survival.
So for me, I did not think this was a far fetched plot. I did hate that Diego and Five left the world under stressed and torn issues…

As confusing as these last two seasons have been… I actually loved this season a lot more than season three. I loved how much they focused on character relationships instead of just turning every scene into a gag for laughs. My biggest complaint was how short the season was. There were SO many cool storylines but no time to flesh them out.
(I also hated how they only cared about klaus when he was sober and then the second he became immortal again practically no one cared about his safety or wellbeing…) :(

I HATED the entire time he was “kidnapped” and I really felt like people weren’t taking the fact that he was SA seriously at all… that was not entertaining to watch and it was so sad seeing how much progress he made..only for him to chose drugs over money which would have paid for his freedom. It just seemed like they didn’t know what to do with him. 😣
@@outofcontextscenes fr!! it’s insane to me that NONE of the siblings followed klaus when he left the group, checked in on him or bothered to care where he was or see what kind of trouble he was in. like thank god allison cared enough to look for him, but it is SO disappointing that they threw that half assed one episode storyline in for him when it ultimately didn’t change his character at all. i lowkey wish they kept klaus sober the entire season, or at least had more episodes to explore his drug addiction which is what it felt like they were going for. i honestly just think there weren’t enough episodes to flesh his or any of their storylines out at all. everything was completely rushed this season.
and the ENDING?? like BYE, i guess the entire show didn’t happen, so none of it matters anyway??? helpppp none of it makes senseee 😭 like those kids should NOT be alive if their parents never existed!? so much potential went down the drain this season cause they just wanted to finish the show regardless of if it made sense or not. :/

This season was chaos and not in a good way but the thing that annoys me is that the ten of swords is not a death card, not exactly, there's an actual literal death card so why didn't they use that? The ten of swords usually represents painful endings but not death, it is an ending you may grieve over but you will eventually move on from and perhaps to happier times so with that in mind, I choose to believe they didn't get erased and got to move on to their version of "heaven" or will be reborn as normal people in the correct timeline with no recollection of their past lives. It's a better end than just being erased because they're all at fault for causing the apocalypse which didn't fully make sense to me.
