I did Pilates for years. It was all about strengthening the abdominal muscles ( I had 10 kids, my abdominal muscles were shot). I kept throwing out my back because my abdominal muscles wouldn’t work and so I overworked my back. There was no yoga or Eastern religion taught.

I've only experienced Pilates with videos, but that's a great input for me to possibly revisit it, now that I've had 7 kids. #5&6 were twins, which I actually had naturally, but #7 was a c section. And I'm a CNA, so I lift people every day. My back is really feeling it, and I won't get into the body image issues with my stomach. I may have to give Pilates another go. Thanks and God bless.

Yeah...that's because Pilates instructors hid their cultural appropiration (theft) of yoga. I can't blame Joseph Pilates for this, he did not such appropriation, he was very open in his journals of the origin of his techniques.

i went to a free yoga class with a friend a few years ago. It was in a martial arts/ Buddhist center. The teacher was trained in India. She was very harsh and throwing shade at us during the class for having good lives because we live in the West, so we were to not complain if the postures were awkward or uncomfortable because think of the poor people in India. I am Indian and also Catholic .It felt traumatizing for me in some way and the energy in the room was toxic. I wanted to cry and flee the room. i should have left. Now i think about it there was a spiritual element and God was telling me to leave. i know better now that to participate in such a thing. i believe it was demonic. my friend who went with me and is catholic was fine during the class. i wasn’t. i was pretty shaken up by the end.

I got this straight up off a Pilates website. Joseph Pilates himself studied YOGA, tai chi, and zen meditation along with roman and greek exercises, which come from pagans.
He didn't invent these positions that look like yoga, he learned them from yoga. He didn't even approriate, because he made no attempt to hide he learned from eastern disciplines, it's in his journals.
So if yoga is the devil, so is pilates since it has origins not just in Hindism but Daoism (tai chi) and Zen meditation (Buddhism).

Guaranteed most if not all of the "spiritual element" in modern Western yoga has been stripped away (Pilates never had a spiritual element to begin with) now they DO have a high percentage of women in their 20s and 30s that wear form fitting workout gear, which your wives would likely highly disapprove of if they caught you staring at. But is your local strip mall gym, a hub for summoning the Fallen One and his minions into this world? Really depends on how many episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer you've seen.

I’ve been to tons of both yoga and Pilates classes in three different places that I’ve lived, and only one class at a university I went to had a weird spiritual component and so I never went back, It’s very easy to tell when it does, and it’s not very common in my experience.
Maybe it is more common if you live in California or some bigger cities, but not near me! So I think most people can relax and exercise at the classes they like. Discern for yourself which class is ok. Probably specific yoga studios are more likely to be spiritual than yoga classes at a gym that offers a variety of fitness classes.

Why take the chance that yoga or other worship elements are not being spliced in there in the heat of activity? I mean, the possibility is always there, because that's supposedly how the founder implemented it. People that are possessed may do this in an attempt to deceive you. You know, make it seem quality throughout, but add evil in there hoping you fall for the little evil they reveal(just like a convincing false teacher or prophet--some are more subtle than others). They'll come at you with the bible a lot or convincingly well, but their heart is far from YHWH/THE Hamashiach! Their real intention is to make money and--if possessed--pick their spots to deceive you when your guard may be down. My belief is that a possessed pilates teacher can do this same kind of thing: know many would never stand for open yoga or claiming other wickedness, so they go subtle with it. Most of time they lull you with legit exercise/stretching, but, then, craftily throw wicked elements in there.
And, it's safe to conjecture that many practitioners do not know every instance that worship elements are being implemented into the routine, so--if the teacher is "blind"--they'll lead you into a ditch as well. Both ways are how pilates is playing spiritual Russian Roulette(never knowing whether your class will lead to a demon possession/attachment or not) and no one knows if being demon possessed will end in them dying that way or they'll eventually be set free from this. So, pilates is not a thing to play around with, because of the evil elements that are employable into it...

@@credidimuscaritati thank you. I subscribe to them, but it's possible that I've missed some of the videos on this topic. I'm also on my 3rd copy of "deliverance prayers for use by the laity" and its falling apart. Everything I've seen so far addresses only yoga in it's normal usage. This video states explicitly that there's no issue with using deep breathing in combination with stretching to achieve the physical benefits. My question has to do with preferring the static stretching as opposed to dynamic movement. This is why I bring up Christianized versions like Doxa Soma, which focus meditation on God in forms such as Hebrew words. I've even seen a rosary yoga before. The intention is to divorce the practice of deep breathing through static stretches while focusing the mind on spiritual meditation from Hinduism and instead meditate on the Lord through the static stretches and breathing. This is a specific topic I haven't seen addressed by Sensus Fidelium or any other source that I find authoritative. As I said I may have missed something, as Sensus Fidelium has spoken on original form yoga several times, and I do greatly appreciate the feedback. I likely wasn't clear in my original question. I intended it to be specific to static stretching (as done in yoga,) as opposed to dynamic movement (as done in Pilates,) using the breathing technique shared by yoga and Pilates, and focusing the meditation on a given form of Christian prayer. I hope that clarifies what I mean by Christianized yoga. Most of these were formed by Christian yoga teachers who repented from Hindu practices and wanted to redeem the physical workouts for their health benefits. As a lay person I haven't found anything I considered questionable, and consider it beneficial. My own parish priest isn't entirely certain about my question and could only tell me to proceed with caution. This is why I was hoping for some resource that directly addresses the Christian versions. I apologize if my explanation is long. Thanks for your input and God bless.
