Today was the original release date. We announced on twitter months ago that it's been delayed to Spring. Sorry. Life got in the way.

How much I wanted Shenmue 3 for the Dreamcast, or rather in the Dreamcast graphics. What you have created gives me exactly the successor to Shenmue 2 that I have wanted for years. It is unbelievable what you have created. I am really glad that you exist. Thank you very much, from the bottom of my heart! ❤

It will be a stand alone client so if someone wants to try and figure it out, it might be possible. I'm just not skilled enough to do it.

@@georgekitchen7046 Sorry to say, didn’t look like something I’d have any interest in. This is waaay more interesting. Or if someone did a Shenmue III de-make and released it on Dreamcast, complete with box art, VMU animations and Rumble Pak support, I would freak out.
@@michaeltylerstewart Can you tell me what about it is more interesting? Just curious. DOS and this will be somewhat similar in their execution. The only real difference is the setting and this being more story driven than mini-game driven. I always appreciate opinions to help get ideas of what people want.
@@georgekitchen7046 I was hoping Dreams of Saturn would be closer to a Sega Saturn version of Shenmue
@@michaeltylerstewart That would be fun to make, but the character models would be the real issue. Trying to "decimate" them to lower quality would cause eyes to bulge out of their heads and legs to move like spaghetti. :p

This looks shockingly good. I'm going to guess most of the game will be in English?Personally, I would love it if there was a full Japanese VO option, but really excited to play, either way.
I'd have to find Japanese voice actors and also translate the full script. The game is essentially being made by just me, with Joe doing all the animations and in my spare time. It will be a fan game more than a AAA title. I agree with you though. It would be better to have Japanese voices.

Never played Shenmue but this looks phenomenal. Love the colours.
This game will be high on references to the original so it may not be the most accessible game for newcomers. Still glad to hear the interest.

I hope subtitles will be present for every dialogue. Although the game is in English for many of us who are not native speakers, they are important. Then of course it will depend on the type of dialogue.
I hope to make this happen. It's a lot of work for 1 person. I'll need help from people who can translate.

I know the game is dubbed, but even just English subtitles would make a difference.

This is amazing!!! I wish they would have simply made shenmue 3 on the existing engine. The combat ruined the game immediately for me. This proves they could have done it had they even tried

Stand alone client, which allows people to create a disc version or emulate into other things like steam deck. It's a little too technical for me to do on my own though.

Will this be more story driven than ur last game?
It will. Less minigames. Less collecting. More 3rd person movements and interactions like climbing, balancing, leaping and swimming.

Is this supposed to be prequel or sequel to Shenmue 3 or something entirely different
Takes place during the last section of Shenmue 2 through Shenmue 3, but not directly tied to that story.
looks awesome but I'm very curious why this guy was picked as the main character.
Thank you Zack. George can take more liberties with a story of Zongquan who will most likely not appear in future games but a story of Xiuying, for example, might interfere with SH4 and beyond. Also, a side story of Zongquan is less likely to be shutdown.

Don't think so, unless you have a way of porting a Unity game to it. I don't have a the PS4 development kit of a license, so I wouldn't be able to port it.
Is this 100% fan made or has this gotten any kind of blessing from the original devs?
Sorry for the vague reply but there are reasons why I have to be vague. All I can say is I was at the Kickstarter dinner in Tokyo with Yu-San.
