Outstanding!! I'm getting back into Saabs after years, I recently acquired a 2011 Turbo4 XWD and this knowledge is very comforting to have. Cheers and thank you for helping keep Saabs rolling. 🍻
I just replaced mine. It works amazingly. Thanks for the video.
This video continues to save NG9-5 Aeros, just scored a G96 diff for cheap and with low miles to replace my 160k+ diff that's giving me the notification daily!
Thank you. Nice video on how to find affordable parts for my crazy Saab 9-5 Aero.
Video on replacing the 2011 Saab 9-5 Turbo6 Aero timing chain(s) please!
Please make a video how to change and service the Xwd.
Henrik Svedlund I agree!
I would drive my Turbo X to Oconomowoc if he wanted to do it for a video! 😂
I ordered the fluids. I just need to get around to doing it.
Looks like I'll be doing an XWD service video. I will do one of the new diff on the bench with me opening it up (on the haldex side) so people can see the filter and whatnot...
Yes! I need to see this!
Once again.... saved the day AS USUAL!!! -Thank you!!!!
Hey man! Great video! You may have saved my "LST SAAB". My beloved 2011 9-5 Aero with every factory option needs a new dif at 141k miles. Thought it was a goner at $5K to replace. Maybe not??
Great video greetings from Ireland love the Saabs had a 900 turbo 2000 great car 2litre drank petrol like a piss at a bar hopefully get another saab soon
Im on the search for a new rear diff as well. Do you know if the Opel Insignia A 2009 -2014 also have swapable rear diff with ELSD? As i live in Norway thats about the best car i can find a lot of
Great video. Curious if this method can be used for a XWD Prop Drive Shaft (12827398). Please respond if you know the appropriate field to search, or if you know of if the Buick LaCrosse or the Cadillax XTS uses the same assembly. TY
I have a question about the halidex awd do you have part number ? Or if it’s interchangeable with any other one from Buick or opel? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Dude, THANK YOU.
This is absolutely fantastic. I am tempted to buy a nice diff as a spare for my Turbo X should I ever need it lol
There are so many eLSD diffs out there that I wouldn't be worried. Keep up on maintenance and it should be golden.
Great research, so I'm assuming the 2.0 engines will fit saab as well?
The 2.0 may work in the NG 9-5, I don't believe it would work in the 9-3 however I haven't done the research on either.
Great video! Very informative.
Great find!
impossible to find a 2.85 diff for my cts/:
Can eLSD be swapped with non eLSD 9-3?
Theoretically, yes. I have not done it though.
@@SaabDr I followed your guide and it looks like they're the same. I found a Buick near me with an eLSD. I have a 2.0T XWD and I'm interested in swapping it out.
I cannot find any other information on it.
I wanted to update this because I used your video as a guide, I was able to successfully swap an eLSD onto a non eLSD equipped 2.0T 9-3. I looked for the same RPO codes, I purchased a diff from an XTS, and found a used Haldex module from a 9-3 2.8 Aero equipped with eLSD, and a used rear left drive shaft (these are specific to eLSD). Everything bolts up the same way. I then re added the ABS module via Tech2, it now defaults to eLSD equipped. I couldn't find any information on this but it is definitely do able. Thanks for posting this. For anyone wondering, the carrier is the same for NG 9-5 and 9-3s, the Haldex module is different, and specific to the modules. Finding a rear left axle is the hardest part, new ones are expensive and seemingly impossible to find now. If you can get your hands on an axle, diff/carrier, and module, this is actually a relatively straight forward swap.
I have two 9-3 2003 I’m willing to sell if anybody is interested one of them is a linear with almost everything Aero. The other is a stock linear. The aero basically has sat nav and a subwoofer included $2500 each San Jose California dm -sorry saab doc I just want to get rid of two of my saabs to get a newer gen hope you don’t mind if u do I can delete
I'll let it roll, but IDK if your post will get you many people interested lol
