You all prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Titus Ronin i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Steve you saved my bacon once again. I was asked to get my sister-in-law's generator since her husband is no longer with us. The generator has enough oil because when I unscrew the dip stick and oil runs out. I unplugged the yellow wire and it runs. You rock Steve. Cheers to you.
Steve, a friend of mines friend is a widow and I'm always doing whatever I can to help her out. She doesn't have enough money to take things to a professional to get fixed so when she asked me if I could get her generator working for again I told her I'd be glad to (the whole time not having a clue of how to fix it). I live in Louisiana so since it's hurricane season I immediately looked up your videos about generators so I could get this thing running again. Thank you Steve! Your videos are helping more people than you know.
I worked on my generator for two hours today. Changed the spark plug, took off the carburetor and cleaned it and drained the gas tank and put in new gas and checked the oil and added some. Still wouldn't stay running but for two seconds. Came into the house and saw your video. Took off the yellow wire and VIOLA my generator fired right up and runs like a new one. I'm amazed that it was such a simple fix. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and saving us money.
Just went through Hurricane Milton, and the generator was working great. I added new gas, and it wouldn't start. I checked everything to drain the gas. I checked the oil, and it wouldn't work till I pulled that yellow wire. This really helped!
Don't know if you are still around on UA-cam or not but THANK YOU. I have jacked with my generator ALL DAY trying to get ready for hurricane Laura. I took the carb off, cleaned everything, adjusted the float, cleaned some more. Obviously I checked the oil prior to trying to crank it and it was full. My low oil cut off does not unplug but snipped the wire and BAM, runs better than ever. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
THIS WAS IT! thank you! This generator has been a problem for YEARS! I replaced the fuel filter, replaced the petcock, replaced the air filter, cleaned out the carburetor... But the oil level sensor is faulty. Plenty of oil, but shuts off anyway. Now unplugged with heat shrink over the end. Thank you again! (I'll note for other readers that I had a port with just a single black wire, but it was obviously an oil levels sensor by its placement and shape. The symptom was that the generator would run for 15-30 seconds, shut off, and couldn't be started for maybe 5-15 seconds.)
Thanks man. The repair guy told me that it will take 3 days to repair as my generator valves are gone without even opening the head. I just watched your video, disconnected the yellow wire now and my generator works like a champ. God Bless You Steve.
Steve: You are the best! I have a 1996 Honda EZ-2500 that I bought new and used it a handful of times over the years here in New Hampshire. I would stabilize the fuel every fall. This year the generator would start and run like a charm for 10-15 minutes. Then it would quit. You showed me something to try. It's been running out there for 1.5 hours now. It was 30 inside my camper at 9:00. Now it is 60 in there with two space heaters, one oscilator and one liquid filled. The generator is working hard, but it's WORKING!!!!!! Thanks buddy. You saved me some aggravation!
My Generator would run for a minute then start to cough , backfire , stutter slow down and stop running. Would not start again unless it sat for about five minutes then it would run for a minute and stop again. Therefore I cleaned the carburetor jets again and checked fuel flow but to no avail. Disconnected the oil kill wire also; again to no avail. Since it still stuttered and backfired I I did not suspect spark plug which looked good and tested for continuity but in desperation changed spark plug regardless This fixed the problem and it's running fine. When the spark plug heats up the circuit is broken in the spark plug due to expansion..... Thanks for your easy to understand mechanical advice Steve.
Thank you sir! We live in IN and many are without power after a bad storm. Our generator quit working in the night, so I looked up info this morning and your video was the first thing that came up. You are honest and to the point. I pray God blesses your business abundantly. You really helped us out!
Thank you so much for making a straight to the point video, tried to find this info in other videos and they’re all 30 plus minutes of talk not related to the issue at all. You’ve won a subscriber my friend.
Its guys like you that give me faith in humanity! Thank you! Saved me 5000$ on buying a new generator for my jobsite I unplugged the yellow wire runs great! I'll be sure to keep my eye on the oil levels now as well 🙂
I have been trying to fix my old Honda EM1000F several times now , cleaned the carby several times and since there is no more parts and support from honda here in Perth I almost threw it out ...who would have thought the solution was that simple !!! just needed more oil in it !!! thanks Steve !
My generator went low on oil a week ago. And kept cutting out during operation. I gave it a oil change. And it worked for a few hours. Then started cutting out again. It seemed to work for a while after cleaning the sparkplug. But would begin shutting off again. This appears to have Done the trick. Thanks so much. You now earned a new follower. Keep spreading the knowledge my friend. I'll be watching!!!
Was about to take the carburetor apart on a Generac 4000exl as it was starting then shutting off after 10 seconds. Glad I checked out this video first, as the sensor was not working on it. Lots of oil and the low oil indicator light was not coming on. Also the owners manual mentioned shutting down after 10 seconds. Runs great with the wires to the sensor disconnected. This video saved me a lot of time. Thanks for all you do for us DIY'ers out here in the hinterland.. you are appreciated by many. Cheers Steve
Mister , i want to thank you .. You saved me a trip into town . your diagnostic skills solved my problem. I separated the yellow wires like you said . thanks a lot Sir. Great video !
Steve glad you posted this video for all UA-camrs a great first check situation when a generator will not fire. Eliminator Performance will be posting a similar video for our subscribers. 99% of the time we have found they need a carburetor cleaning and fuel tank flush and add new fuel with stabilizer. Amazing how many people have generators with fuel that is 5 years old in it and never started it unless they had a power failure. They should really start and run the generator every month and keep adding fresh fuel with stabilizer. Have a generator that is about 15 years old and fires up every time.
Cleaned the carb on a generator I was working on, thinking the bowl was clogged, but still started and shut off after cleaning, came in the house, watched Steve's video, went back out to the shed, pulled the yellow wire connector apart, and VOILA, STARTED RIGHT UP! Great advice, saved me lots of time. Thanks!
Iian brought gen out. Ran good day1 then runs for a few seconds. Had bowl off 3 times and more trouble shooting. Then steve hit it on the head. Bypassed low oil shut off and been in like flyn. I wished i knew sooner. 4 days now without power. Thanks Steve, love your show. Let me buy you a beer!!!!
This video was a lifesaver. I had torn down the carb and cleaned it, changed the spark plug, cleaned out the fuel shut off, and was still wracking my brain to get this thing running. Thank you so much for this video.
Thanks for that tip, we're going through a post hurricane beryl, and I haven't been able to start my generator, it starts but shuts off, great video, New Subscriber, God bless you and Thanks again.
Fantastic! Thanks for the video. I did an oil change months ago, but I might not have run the generator after the oil change. I tried to test the generator a few weeks ago, and it would start and immediately shut off. After a few weeks of procrastinating, I tried it again today. It did the same thing. It is cold and I have no experience repairing small engines, so I didn't want to deal with any significant repairs. The only thing I thought about checking was the oil. But I probably was not going to do that because I knew I changed it recently. I found your video, checked my oil, and discovered the oil level registered on the dip stick, but it was at the very bottom. So I added some oil and the generator started right-up and has been running for 8 minutes without stalling. Thanks!
Thanks a million bud !!! We were about to take this thing right back to Lowes. Then I saw your video. I put oil but not enough. I just added a little more and BOOM !!! started right up. Thank you.
I can't thank you enough for making this video. Our new generator suddenedly stopped working at 2:00am! Being mechanical inclined, not having a clue what to do, I started looking at videos, I found yours and followed your instructions. Thanks to you, I had our generator up and running again!
Thank you so much!!! I own a Snoball stand in Texas and my generator shut off without notice and I couldn’t figure out what the problem was until I found you!!! Had I not, I would’ve been force to shut down for the day and go buy a new generator!!! Thanks again!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Brilliant Steve ive messed on for 2 days with Carb and governor settings, found this video and sorted it straightaway, Thanks very much keep up the good work.
Thank you, Steve! I had high hopes that was the fix, but mine is still stalling. Quick overview, I have a new carburetor and spark plug in, changed the oil and gas but she still cuts off after a few seconds. I even tried loosening the fuel cap. I noticed she reeves up loud and then shuts right down. Any thoughts or suggestions? Appreciate it
Steve: Your video prompted me to investigate the reason the oil light was flashing on my portable generator. It kept cutting out on me. The low oil safety was shorted because it was wet. I use it to run a well pump on my off grid property. It had water and mud in the cabinet. Removed motor, tank and everything else. Cleaned everything including disconnecting and blasted with air hose all the connections. I’ll never sit it on the ground again while pumping water. Thanks. BTW, it runs great.
Disconnected the oil safety after several miserable pulls and it worked like a champ. I think the switch corrected itself after running a bit as I plugged it back together. Thanks for the video, Steve!
Steve..what is the small square relay size module that is wired in series with the oil level sensor?..my generator will only run when the wire between the kill switch and relay type device is unplugged..oil level is correct..anyone know?
Oh brother you saved me money I spent most of the day trying to get it running couldn't figure it out then I remembered to go your UA-cam channel I added oil and Bam it's running like a dream thank very much I really appreciate it again thank you so much
I did not find a yellow wire but the sticker said it would not run or would shut off if there was not enough oil. I checked and it was low so I added some and it fired up. Thanks a ton Steve you just saved me at least 75 bucks and a bunch of hassle hauling the Generator to the shop. Thanks again
I have watched a good couple of your videos and was able to fix /get it working again both my dad's Weed Eater and Generator. Thank you so much for your well put together video's. It was truly a great help. From South Africa...:)
Thank you for the tip. It saved me from taking the Generac generator to the repair shop. It was as easy as disconnecting an electrical plug in connection. I wish I had seen this before, would have saved many hours of working on carburator and such.
Hey Steve love your channel ! I have a similar generator that I picked up it’s a Honda em 3500x. I have put. A new carb on it and done a one over and it runs great! But when I put the auto throttle on it dies... I have tired playing with the idle control solenoid but I haven’t been able to see any videos on how to adjust it. It seems to be working as it flicks left and right but the motor just drops rpm and dies. Any suggestions or can you do a video on this ? Thanks
Hey Steve. Saw your video today. I did exactly what you said and my generator started running perfectly. You saved me me a bunch of money. Thanks a lot.
Thanks Steve your a star.My pressure washer would start but kept stopping, watched this video so checked the oil which was low so topped it up and hey presto started straight away.I was going to take it in to the repairers but you’ve saved me some ££££ thanks.
I was tearing apart an old house trailer using a generator that would run maybe 1-2 minutes and die. Had the carb apart at least 10 times trying to figure out the problem, it's like it kept running out of gas.Checked the tank cap, line, flow to carb, all was fine. Before starting any small engine an oil check is automatic to me so oil wasn't the problem, unplugged this wire and WOW.....THANKS.
Hey Steve , just as soon as I get through this storm and put some money back in the bank I'm going to send you something . My generator was dying during a hurricane when we lost power , I did the steps and it was the oil alert . It runs fine thanks to you.
Thank you so much👌🏾 I have been working on mine since this morning, gave up and called the mechanic guy I know, while waiting on him to come get it I decided to watch a few videos while waiting on him. This the second video I watched and I went to go do what you just explained and it worked🙌🏾 Thank you so much✌🏾
Hi Steve, Thx for the advice, had this exact problem we disconnected that yellow wire and now our Gen is running like a dream and yes our oil was full. you sir are a legend!
We lost power in TX ice storms for 3 days. Generator died on day 1 of course. In a panic, I googled solutions, and this video on the low oil sensor saved the day! You are the man, Steve! Thank you! BTW, is there a similar solution should the CO sensor on the Duromax generator go bad?
Thank you so much for this video! I tried changing the carb & fuel shut off to no avail. After watching this I unplugged the oil sensor and everything runs great! I always check my oil before starting.
Steve, I want to thank you for making this video. I'm just an average Jo when it comes to fixing small engines, but your video gives me the confidence to begin diagnosing why my General generator won't start! I will check my oil sensor and hope it is the problem why my generator won't stay running. I also need your help, if you can help me? I have a Generac EXL generator with a 7.8 Brigg's and Stratton motor. For the life of me, I can't find it's manual to see what spark plug my generator uses. I also looked online and couldn't find what size. Would you happen to know? Thank you for your help, Steve. I truly appreciate your time.
Thank you! My power has been out for over 24 hours. Brand new generator all of a sudden kept shutting off. Disconnecting the oil pressure sensor worked!
Your the man!!! Iv got generic brand but well maintained generator this literally just fixed it. I was about to get in truck and go buy one bc I need it right now for camping trip. You saved me big time. Thank you 👊
Thank you so much! Been without power for several days now and the first day the generator was working 12 hours no problem the. It randomly just started shutting off after 30min to an hour. Cleaned plug no change, found your video added oil and presto fixed. I feel really dumb for not thinking to check that. So thank you again saved a lot of stress and heart ache.
You’re the man. That did the trick on my generator. Now my in-laws can use the generator while they wait for their power to be restored because of hurricane Ida.
Thought the Kubota A2200 Generator that I just got for free had carb issues, but I watched this vid, and sure enough, after checking the oil I unplugged the sensor and she ran like a champ! Thanks!
Hi Steve I always appreciate your videos. I am about to change the oil on my portable generator and I read somewhere to just use conventional 10w-30 oil that you would use in a car. Is that correct or is there a specific type of oil I should be using?
Thank you for pointing out the obvious which we completely thought we had taken care of!! - DOH - We will follow your sound advice and always keep it simple when trouble-shooting! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Finally a video I can understand. In praying that this is the reason...I can't afford to drive my big ass van 200 miles to get it fixed by a repairman. .fingers crossed y'all.
Thank you very much for a very informative video, l just fixed my generator that l bought dead. I cleaned the cubarator and only to find that is was too clogged with grime dirt so l bought a dual curb and it didn't start up until l see this video, now it's working thanks from Zimbabwe
I have a homelite generator that would not run,I changed the carburetor, plug, checked oil,and it still would not run. After watching your video,I checked the engine,I had a green and orange wire,I pulled the orange wire, and it ran.Thank you very much.
Hey Steve, great video. My 5500 generator runs for maybe 10 minutes and then sputters and then eventually shuts off. I have it connected to a separate panel that runs the well pump, 2 refrigerators and kitchen lights. Is there too much load for not enough generator?
After cleaning the carburetor, changing the fuel filter, spark plug and the oil.... none of that was the culprit I unplugged the yellow wire and now it runs beautifully 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 Thank you so much!
Thanks so much. I knew it was something like this. Oil was a little low (like 1/4") and adding some didn't change anything. It stopped one additional time after disconnecting the yellow wire and has run flawlessly since. Preesh!
Hi steve I'm had to put a new piston on a dual fuel generator from champion but after I rebuilt it I been having this issue starts for a sec then it quits I'm off to trying what you showed on your video thanks
Oh. Thank you so much. The oil warning light came up last night when I started up my generator. I put off the engine immediately gave it some time to cool and then gave it an oil change. Started it back up and the oil warning light was still in but I figured it'd go off after a while. Well, it didn't and the engine went off itself some time after. Tried switching it on again this morning to no response. Did as you showed in the video just a minute ago and it started up like it had been waiting a long time to do so.
I never knew this was a feature on gen sets. I'm in Public Works for our town and our Champion generator might have this issue. Thanks for the heads up Steve.
Hi, thank u for the videos. My Hyundai generator had a problem with the fuel valve, I replaced it, but the issue is that it keeps revving intermittently. When I try to connect the water pump, which I used to connect without any problem, it starts having those acceleration intervals, then it shuts down, and the circuit protector trips.
Thank you so much!! Mine is touchy. oil was just a little below full and would run great for 5 min then die. Filled completely and it wouldn’t run. Got rid of just a little bit of oil and running great.
Great video, Steve. I have a question about the throttle control linkage. I inherited a generator with one of the Chonda carbs. It's the big blue Harbor Freight generator.. 7500 watts output. My late father in law must have been trying to fix it and the linkage is hanging unconnected on the CARB side. I see the plastic doodad it goes to, but It keeps falling off and I can't find a picture anywhere that shows how the linkage is secured onto the plastic piece on top of the carb. same with the thin return spring. Where do they connect? Can you help me out with that please? a picture of how it connects would do me wonders. Thanks a bunch!
Brother thank you. After hours of working with the carb. I watched your video and had my neighbors generator up in seconds. My generator had a problem with the fuel cut off valve that I was able to fix too.
Just bought a brand new powerboss 1150. Filled the oil as per instruction and it would shut off after a few minutes. Disconnected the sensor and it seems to be working fine
I have a 4200 honda thats been sitting for a few years. I cleaned the carb, and put fresh gas in it. It only will start for a second with carb cleaner and then dies. It has oil so I disconnected the yellow wire, but it still won't stay running. Any ideas?
I have been working on a multiquip 6000 gen. Older model. After checking everything Steve says to check, I remembered something from my VW repair days. If the engine sputters before shutting down, it's fuel. If the engine just quits, it's electrical. Replace the spark plug first. That took care of my problem.
Hey Steve, I'm just firing up my gen after 5 years! took out the stale fuel (tank & carbie), but i've a sneaky suspicion the jets maybe gummed up. :( Think i'll check the oil anyway........ Cheers! Mick

Thanks!
Right on Greg! You're Welcome...
Thanks a million bud !!! We were about to take this thing right back to Lowes. Then I saw your video. I put oil but not enough. I just added a little more and BOOM !!! started right up. Thank you.
Glad I could help
I can't thank you enough for making this video. Our new generator suddenedly stopped working at 2:00am! Being mechanical inclined, not having a clue what to do, I started looking at videos,
I found yours and followed your instructions. Thanks to you, I had our generator up and running again!
Fantastic!
Thank you so much!!! I own a Snoball stand in Texas and my generator shut off without notice and I couldn’t figure out what the problem was until I found you!!! Had I not, I would’ve been force to shut down for the day and go buy a new generator!!! Thanks again!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
You're Welcome...
Brilliant Steve ive messed on for 2 days with Carb and governor settings, found this video and sorted it straightaway, Thanks very much keep up the good work.
You're Welcome...
Appreciate it
New coil
Steve: Your video prompted me to investigate the reason the oil light was flashing on my portable generator. It kept cutting out on me. The low oil safety was shorted because it was wet. I use it to run a well pump on my off grid property. It had water and mud in the cabinet. Removed motor, tank and everything else. Cleaned everything including disconnecting and blasted with air hose all the connections. I’ll never sit it on the ground again while pumping water. Thanks. BTW, it runs great.
Right on buddy!
Disconnected the oil safety after several miserable pulls and it worked like a champ. I think the switch corrected itself after running a bit as I plugged it back together. Thanks for the video, Steve!
You're Welcome...
Steve..what is the small square relay size module that is wired in series with the oil level sensor?..my generator will only run when the wire between the kill switch and relay type device is unplugged..oil level is correct..anyone know?
Oh brother you saved me money I spent most of the day trying to get it running couldn't figure it out then I remembered to go your UA-cam channel I added oil and Bam it's running like a dream thank very much I really appreciate it again thank you so much
Thank You...and You're Welcome...
Right on Buddy! You're Welcome...
I have watched a good couple of your videos and was able to fix /get it working again both my dad's Weed Eater and Generator. Thank you so much for your well put together video's. It was truly a great help. From South Africa...:)
You're Welcome...
Thank you for the tip. It saved me from taking the Generac generator to the repair shop. It was as easy as disconnecting an electrical plug in connection. I wish I had seen this before, would have saved many hours of working on carburator and such.
Glad it helped
You're Welcome...
Thanks Steve your a star.My pressure washer would start but kept stopping, watched this video so checked the oil which was low so topped it up and hey presto started straight away.I was going to take it in to the repairers but you’ve saved me some ££££ thanks.
You're Welcome...
Right on Buddy! You're Welcome...
Hey Steve , just as soon as I get through this storm and put some money back in the bank I'm going to send you something . My generator was dying during a hurricane when we lost power , I did the steps and it was the oil alert . It runs fine thanks to you.
Right on Dennis! Maybe consider this-- ua-cam.com/channels/pqca7L2YYDN-BIHUQ2TfAA.htmljoin
Thank you so much👌🏾
I have been working on mine since this morning, gave up and called the mechanic guy I know, while waiting on him to come get it I decided to watch a few videos while waiting on him. This the second video I watched and I went to go do what you just explained and it worked🙌🏾
Thank you so much✌🏾
That's awesome! Glad I could help!
Hi Steve, Thx for the advice, had this exact problem we disconnected that yellow wire and now our Gen is running like a dream and yes our oil was full. you sir are a legend!
You're Welcome...and Thank You...
Thank you! I’m slowly becoming an old man with old tools. Your channel is really helping me out fixing all my junk haha
You're Welcome...
Haven’t even checked yet to see if that was the problem but Steve I like the way you do things. Subscribed!
Right on! Thank You...
Thank you so much for this video! I tried changing the carb & fuel shut off to no avail. After watching this I unplugged the oil sensor and everything runs great! I always check my oil before starting.
Glad it helped
Thanks Steve. You nailed it for me. Your channel is not only informative; you make it fun. Thanks so much!
I appreciate that!
Stan!!!!!! Mannnn thanks alot man you just saved me and my wife $300 for a new one.. I unplugged the wire and SHAZAMMMM.. THANKS A MILLION!!!!
You're Welcome...
Thank you! My power has been out for over 24 hours. Brand new generator all of a sudden kept shutting off. Disconnecting the oil pressure sensor worked!
You're Welcome...
Your the man!!! Iv got generic brand but well maintained generator this literally just fixed it. I was about to get in truck and go buy one bc I need it right now for camping trip. You saved me big time. Thank you 👊
Great to hear!
You're Welcome...
Tried using my generator Monday after the hurricane and it wouldn't stay running, found your video and fixed it in less than a minute.
Thank You...
Thanks!
You’re the man. That did the trick on my generator. Now my in-laws can use the generator while they wait for their power to be restored because of hurricane Ida.
AWESOME!
Soon as I saw the beer I new this was the video of all the videos I watched that would help me fix my issue
Thought the Kubota A2200 Generator that I just got for free had carb issues, but I watched this vid, and sure enough, after checking the oil I unplugged the sensor and she ran like a champ! Thanks!
You're Welcome...
Hi Steve I always appreciate your videos. I am about to change the oil on my portable generator and I read somewhere to just use conventional 10w-30 oil that you would use in a car. Is that correct or is there a specific type of oil I should be using?
broke my dang back trying to get mine running. watched this video and fixed it first pull.. thanks brother.
You're Welcome...
Getting ready for Hurricane Henri and this tip totally worked. Thank you! Should I cover the exposed end with electrical tape?
Thank you for pointing out the obvious which we completely thought we had taken care of!!
- DOH -
We will follow your sound advice and always keep it simple when trouble-shooting! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Our pleasure!
thank-you I can't believe it was that simple -we just got ours running smoothly
Awesome Patti! You're Welcome...
You nailed it. Thank you for saving me a ton of time.
You're Welcome...
Steve you just saved a full break down from my wife and children! Thank you man!!
Right on Ellie! You're Welcome...
This tip worked for me! Thank you so much for all the knowledge you provide for us! Thanks
You're welcome!
Thank you Steve. You have saved me a ton of time and money. Thank you for helping us average do it yourself Joe's.
Great to hear!
I have a homelite generator that would not run,I changed the carburetor, plug, checked oil,and it still would not run. After watching your video,I checked the engine,I had a green and orange wire,I pulled the orange wire, and it ran.Thank you very much.
You're Welcome...
Hey Steve, great video. My 5500 generator runs for maybe 10 minutes and then sputters and then eventually shuts off. I have it connected to a separate panel that runs the well pump, 2 refrigerators and kitchen lights. Is there too much load for not enough generator?
After cleaning the carburetor, changing the fuel filter, spark plug and the oil.... none of that was the culprit
I unplugged the yellow wire and now it runs beautifully 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
Thank you so much!
Great job!
Thank you! Got it running. Didn't know about the oil float. Learning is good!
You're Welcome...
Thanks so much. I knew it was something like this. Oil was a little low (like 1/4") and adding some didn't change anything. It stopped one additional time after disconnecting the yellow wire and has run flawlessly since. Preesh!
Wow Steve!!!!
You saved us a lot of stress !!!
Definitely following and sharing your channel with others
Awesome, thank you!
Excellent!
I never knew this was a feature on gen sets. I'm in Public Works for our town and our Champion generator might have this issue. Thanks for the heads up Steve.
Your videos have saved me and my wallet so many times mate, absolute legend 💪🏽 Thanks a lot
Great to hear!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! It turns out that wasn't my problem but that is still great information.
No worries!
Fantastic!
Thanks brother, you just saved me a ton of headache.
You're Welcome...
You helped me fix a problem once again! Thanks Steve!
Great to hear!
Thanks. Never to old to learn.
You're Welcome...
Just bought a brand new powerboss 1150. Filled the oil as per instruction and it would shut off after a few minutes. Disconnected the sensor and it seems to be working fine
I filled up the oil to correct level and it fired right up! Thank you!!
Excellent!
Steve thank you so much! You helped my husband and I!!!!!
That is awesome!
I have a 4200 honda thats been sitting for a few years. I cleaned the carb, and put fresh gas in it. It only will start for a second with carb cleaner and then dies. It has oil so I disconnected the yellow wire, but it still won't stay running. Any ideas?
Ive got that same issue with my pulsar 4500
I have been working on a multiquip 6000 gen. Older model. After checking everything Steve says to check, I remembered something from my VW repair days. If the engine sputters before shutting down, it's fuel. If the engine just quits, it's electrical. Replace the spark plug first. That took care of my problem.
Thanks Steve. It was my low oil alert!
You're Welcome...
Is there a video on maintaining the battery life on generators and other equipment?
nice. adding a bit more oil fixed my shutoff issue. this helped a lot, especially now with Milton and no power
Glad it helped!
Thank you! Saved my day, and saved my generator.
You're welcome!
I have a Coleman generator with a briggs and stratton intek ohv engine. Do those motors have that system? Lmk
Hey Steve, I'm just firing up my gen after 5 years!
took out the stale fuel (tank & carbie), but i've a sneaky suspicion the jets maybe gummed up. :(
Think i'll check the oil anyway........
Cheers!
Mick
Right on
Got a broken EM2200 motor run good the rest is rust out. What could I use the motor in ?
