It can't be to avoid federal taxes can it?. In January 17, 2012, Puerto Rico passed legislation making it a tax haven for U.S. citizens that become residents of Puerto Rico. The tax laws, known as Act 20, the Export Services Act, and Act 22, the Individual Investors Act, shields new residents residing in Puerto Rico for at least half of the year from paying most federal income taxes. The U.S. Tax Code generously exempts Puerto Rico sourced income from federal tax and, under the law, residents pay minimal or possibly no taxes on interests and dividends, as well as capital gains. Additionally, property taxes are significantly lower than property taxes in the mainland U.S. Thus, making Puerto Rico a mecca for exportation of international services worldwide.
I’m neither part of their crew, nor their accountant to answer your questions or validate your definition. I do know however, Puerto Rico is a beautiful island year around. F-Stoppers produce some phenomenal landscape videos and photos. From the climate alone it makes it worth the investment. Apart from the tax advantage that you perhaps are implying as the primary catalyst, I see it as a location begged to be videographer and photographed. The possibility of local hire employment for crew members is an additional plus. The food is obviously incredible. So with so many positives, I ask again, why not? Of course, me being Puerto Rican makes me a bit biased.

Welcome to concrete housing AKA real housing, to solve your issue of echos , mainly that is because there is no furniture, place 1 or 2 thick rugs/carpets as you deem fit and you will be set.That is all it takes.

You should try putting acoustic foam on the walls. Use 3M removable adhesive strips to hang on the wall so easily removed without damage. I've done that in a few locations and they work amazingly. If you get a few bass traps as well that will help.
5 stories don't change the square footage of the place, if you have X amount of square footage it's still going to be X amount of square footage whether it's 1 story or 5, and with more stories that square footage is compromised more from things like staircases, walls and how the rooms are designed. It's why warehouses are giant empty places with no walls or anything, same for pole barns etc.
I recommend ditching the moving blankets and get some thick theater curtians. They look great and do a better job, plus they light well. For the areas on the celling you had towels, order some sound panels custom to fit. It will make a huge difference in my opinion.
Echo fix. I have a brick basement music studio. I hung several 4.5 lbs packing blankets and they are fantastic. I also put an inexpensive rug on the tile floor. Thank you for investing time & life in PR!!! GO TO RINCON!
Hi Patrick - 10 Gigabit usually requires Cat 6a cable to reach the specified 100m max range. If you use Cat6 or Cat 5e cabling - the distance will drop considerably. Just make sure you use managed switches (which you do) and you observe the interface counters that tell you whether there are errors on the link. If there are errors on some outlets and not on others, it might be worthwhile checking or re-doing the outlets which in your situation is probably the point where error are introduced ... otherwise .. an absolute beautiful place and house! good luck!

Welcome to Puerto Rico, get ready for the hot summers, you will love going to our beaches and rivers, so many great spots for photography and having fun. I can suggest you guys to do a trip around all the island, there are so many nice places, each region have differents things to offer. My favorite places in no specific order, "Culebra Island", Fajardo, Isabela, Aguadilla, Rincon, Cabo Rojo, Adjuntas, Utuado, Jayuya, Lajas, Guanica, Ponce, Caja de Muertos and a lot more. Have fun and enjoy your new life/vacations there. :)
Right now I am living in KY and hating it, I miss my island so much! Last tip, beware of the crime, its sad that in such a beautiful place right now there are a lot of crime. Don't trust in everybody there.

Nice place guys! Try Basotect foam panel absorbers to deal with the echos. They come in all sizes, shapes and colors, are relatively affordable and are way more efficient and better looking than blankets. Basotect is an acoustic foam made by BASF.
Between the three of us, Lee's wife was the most eager to move. It's been fun hearing other stories of people who have moved here mainly how fast the decision was made and also who in the family was more excited. -P

I recommend looking into acoustic fibreglass panels for the basement, easy to hang, light, usually odourless and more classy than these rags! Go for 4x2ft, 2in thick.
