Been testing out the new Insta360 One RS twin edition on the trails and there are things I like about it and things I do not. The low light functionality is the weak point.. Just given my location of where I ride, I am always in the woods (shade) and the camera doesn't seem to do well in shade. Whenever I've had it out in the open in sunlight or out at the lake, the image quality is amazing! I do like that with this modular system you get two cameras in one and it's so easy to switch out. Because I am trying to get more active on social media (instagram link at the bottom of the description) I love how easy and quick it is to use the 360 lens to create videos and content perfect for instagram. What I like a lot is the larger image sensor so when you increase stabilization your image doesnt get cropped which is awesome!
I still feel like I need to use the wind reduction setting turned ON or else the wind noise is still pretty strong on my descents when speed picks up. Check out the video, I do several test runs and provide some extra detail on the new specs. I will be going to Boyne Highlands Bike Park this weekend and will be using the 360 lens mod on my chest will use my other action camera on the chin mount. Will get some more test footage there and will also use that for social media content.

I like the 360 lens gives a actual look and feel of the speed, but yes a little blury in the low light areas even with my 4k monitor set up.

I agree.. I like that the 360 lens gives a better feel for speed and creates a nice look but if only it was a little less digital in these lower light settings when I'm in the woods. I think I'll stick to the gopro on my helmet chin mount but maybe use the 360 lens for secondary shots or for instagram or something.. We'll see. I'll keep playing around with it.

Yea I’ve tried to like the Insta360 cameras but I just have a really hard time getting the same quality as my GoPro. GoPro will remain my primary camera but will probably just use this one for social media stuff cause it’s easier to export in vertical format. That or use it when I need an extra camera to set up somewhere. The 360 lens comes in handy with a few different projects but yea, won’t be able to get the same good looking video like I do the GoPro unfortunately.

How did you get the edited footage from 360 footage? Did you edit in phone app then transfer somehow?

There’s an Insta360 desktop app that I edited the 360 clips on before moving the file to premier to put the whole video together. The key to making the edits easier is to use direction lock when you’re using the Insta360 desktop or phone app. You add key frames to have the zoom and camera direction set. If you don’t use direction lock, it can make editing the 360 footage very time consuming and frustrating.
