I love you Mike! You're Channel take boring monotone Guides and makes them actually fun to watch! Thanks man! :D
wow nice timing preach
i was thinking about watching some guides with my dinner
AND BAM
u gave me a new one right away
/brofist
A few things I wanted to point out we're using unleash life with used with healing rain only empowers the first tick of healing Rain, same with riptide first burst of the heal gets buffed hot ticks normal. Also call of the elements is avert overlooked talent when you consider it will let you cast healing stream totem twice back to back. Stone bulwark totem is great for minor dmg reduction something like 90k dmg negated over 30 seconds and call of the elements resets it so 180k dmg across 1 min
and last but not least :)
if you have really big problems with your mana pool you can try the glyph 'totemic recall' combined with totemic restoration (level 30 talent) and so use totemic recall before your healing stream totem duration is finished. this saves about 14k mana every 30 sec.
but thanks a lot for your guide, it was really enjoying to watch! i even didn't need matches stuck in my eyes to stay awake :)
Please please redo these videos for 5.2 healing they are by far the best on UA-cam and a great help for me. So much so I decided to run as all healers :-)
Keep up the awesome vids and I subbed
Another approach that could be taken toward a resto shaman's stat priority is to set a "breakpoint" in mastery as well. I currently run w/ around 50% mastery and am now stacking crit as resurgence is an excellent mana return. Your overhealing may increase, but you will notice that overall your mana regen improves.
Love the videos on everything about the shaman's. Any luck in the future you will make a macro video for the ele and resto shaman class?
Great insight in the shaman healing (favorite healer). Thank you very much.
Also Totemic Recall is a glyph worth mentioning, especially in raids. It makes Healing Stream Totem mana neutral, so it's tons of free healing. :)
Its so sad to see the downfall of WOW, I miss when Preach had this kind of fun.
Im not having any problems with mana at the moment. Course im freshly 90 n just running 5 mans but i havent felt so confident in my healing since wrath. Im loving resto ballers!!!
forgot to say, awesome video!! really enjoyed it, you making a 5.2?
I think Preach that the glyph of riptide it's not a must, the initial heal its huge and with that glyph you lose a hell of a lot of healing, and for the consistent uptime of tidal waves its not the case cause without the glyph you can use the charges for 2 direct heals and then you have riptide off cd and you can cast it again and have cosistent tidal waves overall.Let me know if its really like this or really good resto shamans are doing it wrong.
Finally, a guide for my favorite healer class.
With regards to ele blast it isnt random, it goes crit/haste/mastery, I have it on my ele spec and see it many times. If you get ancestral switfness (imo) it allows you to pop in insta healing rain/or a insta hex(for cc or pvp)/ the ele mastery on the other hand is nice but if you have your haste at the point where it is supposed to be you shouldnt need it as much, but as a starting point i am totally for it.
Personally I've gotten better results using Ancestral Swiftness (especially in 5 mans) over Elemental Mastery. It lets you be more flexible with your healing, since you always basically have a free tank save. Not to mention in a raid setting the haste is hugely helpful since it helps your HoTs tick more.
Tbh high crit is amazing aswell in MoP, esp in HC mode raids where you'll find urself struggling for mana alot and crit will even help ur regen with telluric aswell as regen from resurgence.
Personally i run with 3700 roughly haste for +1 tick on Healing Tide when u have Ancestral swiftness + 5% haste in raids. Then i reforge ANY haste above that into crit and if an item does not have crit i reforge either mastery or haste into it.
High End raiders mostly run full crit so far in HC modes.
I am a resto shaman too, I am doing progress on raid and I am stacking Mastery like hell, because it's good, currently running around with 65%, also for the tier 3 in talents I prefer Call of the Elements, simply because it lets me put more totems down faster.
Personally i do not like elemental blast for resto because of its 1.86 seconds cast time which you might not have time for during moments of large damage. i personally choose primal elementalist because when you place your fire elemental totem he can grant u 5% damage and 10% healing increase for 1min, or your earth elemental grants you 20% damage reduction and increased healing by 10% for 1min.
i reforged and my heals are a ton better than what they used to be :D thanks man
what i also wanted to say is that HTT is awesome
its comparable to tranquility or divine hymn but you do not have to stand and cast, its instant and you can move while popping one of the most powerful healing cooldowns that actually exist! also conductivity is crap: in the vid your greater healing wave hit with about 60k. if you have 1 melee dps and 2 tanks standing in the rain the 20% (12k) is spread up to these 3. so everyone gets healed for 4k.
Havent been able to bring myself to try my shaman yet!
as far as the glyph of riptide preacher is right and most of you are not listening to what he was saying the spammable cheap heal was a side note, the big thing about riptide is the buff tidal waves and the fact that this buff could now have an almost 100% uptime
Haha! I'd like to point out there is a point as a healer to stand & drool on ur shoes when no healing is needed. Damage spells cost mana. Obviously this is not a factor in 5mans. Of course as a shammy with that glyph yes it's a mana gain to do your lightning bolts and on ur holy paladin getting in close to melee is also a mana gain. But if I start dotting everything up with pain in a raid on my holy priest I will loose my mana I need to use to keeping people alive.
stone bulwark totum hase a 1 min cd and can be refrest whit call of elemends if you have heling tide totum it's a good como in poinds next to wind walk totum we ar shamans and do you realy got the time to replace a totum in chaos
riptide glyph is probably one of the worst glyphs for a resto shaman in my opinion, and by no means should you put it on the entire raid because it is not as cheap as you think it is and heals for a lot less then a rejuv. also, our new 4-piece bonus makes the glyph obsolete for most situations. the only near mandatory glyph in my opinion is the one for healing stream totem.
I want my next character to be a healer. I was thinking of a paladin, but I think Shamans just seem cooler.
whats the name of the addon ur using for healthbars and stuff?
His entire UI is downloadable and explained over at the website.
I swear my glyph of Telluric Currents says 10% mana every lightning bolt. Is that only for non-resto classes?
This sounds like a cata mindset guide. You really want to get your mana regen sorted before you start stacking mastery. Incidentally, Crit is not as bad anymore as it was, especially with Resurgence being much better now. Most people are trying to get a decent amount of both crit and mastery.
not true, unleash life increases your healing rain by 30%, but unleash fury only buffs the effect on single target heals
I recently turn 90 not to long ago. How do you get all the totems out at one time.
i have to disagree with the mandatory riptide glyph. for fights like will of the emperor where its mostly tank damage i rather have the holy shock type riptide for tank healing. and for a fight like elegon with constant raid dmg i rather the riptide one. ive also been gemming pure spirit gems for progression raiding
Glyph of Riptide is by no means a must.
Wow! You've totally convinced me this 16 minute video is totally false in just a few words! Thanks, dude!
@rourni313 and every1 else Glyph of riptide is preferencial for me its useless, i can manage 90% uptime of tidalwaves with Chain heal and Riptide. and Spammable heals are not that good..... they turn your mana into overheals. and since its not that power full hot you still need to cast HW which can top off so more waste of mana. more mana means more spirit needed. that means you will miss other stats that can give you more profit ;o
Whats the name of the font ?
doesnt elemental blast chose your highest stat?
PREACH I NEED UR UI NAO! if anyone knows what addons he use please share :)
Some things in this guide are stupid, with raid gear I have reforged absolutely everything out of haste and still have my soft haste cap, I reforged everything to crit. I am out healing a lot better shamans then me be by about 5-10k hps, I don't use the glyph for riptide because it sends you oom really fast and I don't stack spirit, I rely all on crit and it comes out on top every single time, if you want to Armoury my shaman his name is Riptide on Frostmourne.
Hmm I thought crit was king because of Resurgence (crit gets you mana back)
well ...
firstly: nice guide, everything is explained well and correctly.
BUT
why didn't you mention primal elementalist at all? both of the elementals give you a 10%healing buff; the earth elemental an additional 20% damage reduction buff! i guess that is much stronger for AoE healing than unleashed fury. elemental blast is crap, because if you have time to cast a spell that does not heal you do not need it's buff and if you need it you won't have any time to cast a 1,8 sec cast
THE CURSE HAS BEEN LIFTED!!! :D
unleash fury increases your healing on healing rain so..
i love healing on this class
Well time to make a resto shamen
This is why. Hate auto correct on my iPad
Well done, sure made me laugh a few times.
finnaly prachy :P
Hey, pssssssssst, this video was released in 5.0.4!!!! /gasp
Crit is SO BAD for all shamy specs, why have mail int crit item in the game?
Agreed ;)
Hey, psssssssssssssst, that's why it says 5.1!!! /gasp!
😊
Hey, pssssssssssst, it was wrong in 5.1 too.
bro I am sorry, but that glyph of riptide is terrible. I have no idea why anyone would think that glyph would be mandatory. honestly the HoT is terrible compared to what the druid has, and it is a pretty big mana hog. the initial heal is one of the best instant heals out of any other healing class. with the glyph I feel like an underpowered resto druid casting weak HoTs on everyone.
want
Really
it's pitbull.....and you don't have to type @anyone this isn't twitter lol
