- Andy Mitten shares player ratings for Man United 1-1 Burnley in the Premier League at Old Trafford. Antony put Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United ahead with his first goal in the Premier League this season. Burnley equalised with a penalty after Onana tried to clear the ball but took the man. 1-1 final score. Manchester United stay 6th in the Premier League, but have Newcastle a point behind after their win.

Sorry Andy, Hojlund was not booed, when he came off, it was the decision, to take him and Mainoo off, that was booed!
I'm pretty sure that's what Andy ment. Especially Maionoo going off. Taking him off means we can't control tempo.
3 games in a row against championship teams and could have lost them all.

I think the crowd is getting frustrated now. They’ve given tremendous support home and away and the players are paid a lot of money in hard times for families. People want to be entertained. There is no flair or class with this Utd team. It’s a bit demoralising. I think I would rather see more youth players than say Eriksen who is basically retired. Why is AWB playing when Dalot is right back and Amass is so talented, That balances the side. Play Wheatley. Play Amad. People are getting very frustrated.
Don't think the boos were cause Hojlund came off tbh, Deffo frustration at Mainoo coming off when we all know how the midfield flops
it shows you how bad your team is when you're relying on a young kid , give him two years and he'll be another useless trashford

It looks better. Only issue is that there's alot of players not suited to play a high line so we're quite vulnerable, but I do get Ten Hag's press conference stating that the team is more dynamic and creating good chances. We do need to remember that the balance in the squad is poor with alot of young players aswell. That means some instability in performances. Just gotta keep our hopes up for the next seasons!

Always a valued opinion and one worth listening to, Mr. Mitten. Much like yourself, I hope the team make a swift recovery. The odds and opinions keep shifting, but I hope Ten Hag gets some patience; and the opportunity to work under the improving structure above him.
Onana mistakes are getting really worrying again. You just can’t make big errors if you want to be an elite level goal keeper.
To blame that penalty on the keeper is a bit harsh, the causation of that penalty was Casemiro. Put both wan bissaka and Onana under significant pressure, created panic stations. He was trying to head the ball back to the keeper and failed miserably with both wan bissaka and onana reacting desperately to deal with it.
Burnley had 53% of the possession. EtH can only play his perfect brand of football with exactly the right players at 21 degrees Celsius with a light south westerly wind blowing across Old Trafford. Otherwise, there is absolutely no plan and everything goes completely to chance. EtH has no plan for when his precious first team are not fit. Emery would have got this squad battling for 3/4 place.
Then Emery takes a huge L cause ETH beat his team twice this year with a patched up team 😂.

Having 65+ injuries and not having a left back for the entire season is nowhere near "precious first team is not fit". It's a horribly imbalanced squad that cannot be fixed because there aren't any players who can come in and fix it.
I think you'll agree that the players we have in the squad (even the injured ones) are good enough to get us a top 4 spot. So when most of the key players in key positions are injured, why are you still expecting a top 4 finish when the squad that can only do top 4 has been severely negatively impacted?

EtH should be doing better with the players who are fit. He has underperformed as our manager this season. I’m open to giving him a third make or break season.

Yeah, Eriksen was better than a 5. Thought he was better than Mainoo today, who looked a little off.
His legs have gone and his physically which was low before it’s 💩 now. He needs to be in a league where the pace of play is slower and league not as physical to be back to his old self. Unless United are absolutely going to dominate the ball (think 1st half against Coventry City” he’s useless to us. I don’t know how bad Amrabat is in practice but I thought the whole reason we got him was to play in the double pivot as a defensive 6. He’s been MIA.
@@amfitness5598 i was just talking about his performance in this match. i thought he was good in possession which we've severely lacked recently. some of his touches/passes to set up teammates were very good. If only his teammates took care of their passes like that we might have scored a few more 🤷♂
The question is 1stly as professional footballers who train week after week, what do they practice? It’s embarrassing? Whether ETH stays or leaves I don’t care anymore because even the substitutions , the timing is diabolical.

I think Ten Hag substitutions are puzzling. Surely, if you take an attacker off, you replace him with another striker. Want to support this manager but he is making it very difficult to do this.

This was a game of errors and the result was fair. It doesn't bode well for the remainder of the season for Mu. The goaly is erratic and not for the first time has wiped out an opposition player in the goal area
Once ETH has had the time to sort out and strengthen the squad the football will switch from back and forward to half back and full forward. The defeats will become draws and the draws will become victories.
When Garnacho has 6 shots and Antony has 8 shots and Hojlund has 0, you can’t tell me that ETH is coaching that! There’s a serious issue with players IQ’s cause no way ETH is coaching that

He just looks like he’s carrying too much timber. Never gets up to speed as a late sub ….. it’s just not going to work for him in the prem by the looks of it. Sad really cos form and expectations were very high before he came onboard

Tactics. That’s what’s wrong with us at the moment/this season. You could drive an aircraft carrier through our midfield. I have to pinch myself when I see the table and see us in 6th.
good one Andy, you've already said it repeatedly in your writing and podcasts but cant hurt (sic) to repeat it - ETH as the gaffer has his share of responsibility to bear. Since wolves the warnings have been there and injuries have not in any way aided in his cause, however, even with that have we seen anything that resembles an organized side team that has clue to what it's doing? NO! on the other end we have players earning around 270M GBP but (with a few exceptions maybe) have absolutely no idea on what they're doing or what club they play for. lets rewind to 2022 when ETH met with Fletcher and Murtough - when your senior staff responsible for development of the team leave a meeting with a prospective managerial candidate with statements like "we had to take notes because we were soo impressed" and didn't realize the scale of the work to be done, then we have to accept we're royally F****D. We have some semblance of a plan with SJR and his guys but the problem isn't simply the gaffer and the players, it's something that'll take its time to resolve. lets simply pray we all live to see united rise again. hopefully it wont as long as the scousers.

But we know this team is filled with squad players, a back four made up to a best possible.. that needs to be understood.. add the comedy of errors, the misses and mistake by Casemiro that caused the penalty IMO (had casa not touch it, Onana maybe gets it). we had clear penalties disallowed. Onana made amazing saves. Casemiro ran out of juice, Mainoo was knackered.. wingers too greedy, many chances and shots but none into Hojlund etc etc etc.. better days ahead with ETH backed, clear out and signings and ''normal'' level of injuries next year.

Thanks Andy. Still don't know what I watched. Think that as positive as our wingers are they make some awful decisions and can be a bit selfish. I read somewhere that Højlund received more passes from Onana (4) than any other player.

i have been to most games this season , and the season has been a wipe out .i went on saturday and the result did not shock me .most top coaches have a plan a ,and a plan b .i dont know what tens plan a is .and he doesnt have a plan b .i just want the season to end .and i dont think united will win anthor game this season .i hate to see managers getting the sack but i think the job is to big for ten .
The shame of it is that Onana was our best player on the day, even after giving away the penalty. Goes to show the quality of the entire squad and their piss poor performances.
Has anyone noticed that Maguire is much better in midfield going forward? He is not a defender.

Burnley were nowhere near as dangerous as Coventry or Sheffield United lately, and we couldn't put the ball in the net until Antony did. Lack of professionalism, lack of concentration, lack of quality
I honestly think Steve McLaren should be nowhere near Ten Hag or the team just my opinion of course but I don't think he should be assistant manager....
Andy, as someone with a respected voice within the fanbase, and as someone with a proper frame of reference for what this club is all about, you need to start being more vocal about Bruno. You grew up on Bryan Robson, Bruce, Pally, Sparky, Eric, Ince, Keane, Giggs, Pete, Irwin, you know what winners look like, you know what leaders and characters feel like, irrespective of era, winners are all cut from the same cloth, they have the same base ingredients, none of which are present in Bruno. Come on, man, the duty rests on the real fans to keep the standards up.

The thing is, would any other manager get better results with the players that Ten hag has available? I suggest not, so need to give Ten Hag at least the last year off his contract to turn things around, given that even with the teams bad luck with injuries he has got us one trophy with the promise of another. Did we give Sir Alex more of a chance, errrr yeah I think so.

Absolute Keystone Cops defending by us. Onana has form for MMA type challenges in the box, ie re Wolves. Got away with that one. Not today. Bruno our best player once again. Don't get the hate he gets, led it seems by Keano. Antony took his chance decently. Overall a poor performance. Don't see the point of European football next season to be honest. We'll only get knocked out in the group stage anyway. Credit to Burnley

We need a midfield!! We are losing the midfield battles in every game because we are playing with 10 men. Kobbie may as well be on his own with the players we have to partner him. We can’t be expecting to win games with this squad at the minute. Ratcliffe has already said it’s gonna need time. The difference we’d have by just having Licka and Shaw back would be massive. For me Antony shouldn’t be anywhere near any United team. He’s 1 dimensional and every team know what he does. Amad should have started ahead of him. We couldn’t really do anything else in Midfield as proven when McSauce comes with another injury. How, in 2024, is our team getting so many injuries constantly?? No other team in the prem are dealing with this issue.

@@stuartwilson1190 because the players he has available aren’t in their natural positions or they aren’t good enough. Simple fact is our only striker isn’t getting any service from the wingers and our midfield isn’t strong enough. Bruno goes missing when heads drop and Mainoo is isolated to mop up because the partners he has aren’t quick enough or in McSauces case isn’t good enough. Antony was a mistake buy, Fergie made plenty and every other team make them. There’s a long way to go to get United to standard of challenging for the league. We need 2 midfielders, a striker and a physio/fitness team that can work on players not being injury prone

Putting Eriksen with Mainoo was poor from the manager, and he kept it going. why? We got exactly what we expected, basketball football. Eriksen isnt up2 it. Mainoo was left exposed. We cant make more than 3 passes without losing it. Sick of this Manager. His in-game management is awful, too slow to react. Do any of you want Europa or Conference League football next season? I dont.
