  • When shooting recipe videos, I often require only a small portion of rice. Since I have a family of 6, I have a large 10-cup rice cooker. And it does not work well when I need to cook just 1 cup of rice. As a solution, I went online and bought this little microwave rice cooker. Here is my review of it.
During my time studying abroad and living alone, I often cooked for myself. For about 4 years, I used a small microwave rice cooker, similar to the one mentioned here. So, I am quite familiar with this little gadget.

Thank you, I bought the same cooker on Temu. There were no instructions so I was nervous about how to use.

I hope it turned out well.😊 You just need to experiment a little with the amount of water and your microwave setting

Keep the spoon on and press the outside of the spoon tip while lifting the bottom part of the spoon and the lid comes off easy

Hi, thanks for the video, it is really useful, just one question, is it the same time no matter the amount of rice?

The timing will depend on the amount of rice. Cook the rice till it's done

I tried looking. It's not written anywhere on the microwave.😞

You didn't say what material the cooker made of. I guess it must be plastic, BPA free or not I just simply don't cook any thing in it. I use plastic container for food storage when it's not hot though.
I do cook rice in microwave too! By using the micro pop corn popper pot. It made of glass.

It's plastic. I think it is BPA free. I have discarded the box already

Hmmm... I've not tried that. I'll let you know when I do. I usually cook pasta in a regular pot.

Can I do same for couscous?

    • @BusyDaddyCooks
      @BusyDaddyCooks  8 місяців тому +1

I have not tried that. You should be able to do it. You just need to get the amount of liquid and the timing right. 😃

I have a different brand of microwave rice cooker, but it's basically the same premise (mine is the Sistema Rice Cooker). It comes with cooking guidelines for 4 different types of grains:
      White Rice 250g/8.8oz + 500-600ml water Cook 8-12 minutes
      Quinoa 240g/8.4oz + 500-600ml water Cook 11-15 minutes
      Polenta 200g/7oz + 600-700ml water Cook 3-5 minutes
      Couscous 255g/8.9oz + 350-450ml water Cook 3-5 minutes
As you can see, Couscous has a much shorter cook time and requires much less water. Hope this helps you!

It looks like sticky rice . My rice cooker is far better than this one .
