    I thought long and hard about extensions. But I think you got me convinced. The aesthetic touches you have done so far are superb.

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 років тому

      You'll like them. I was on the fence about the triangle shapes at the ends, but they are ok. I'd prefer it without those though. Overall, the quality is outstanding and installing it is easy if you take your time. The more attachment points you have, the straighter the extensions sit. I also recommend using larger washers so they grip more area. JB weld is really optional, but I wanted to add it anyway.

      TheShaddix I am with you. Better to be safer than sorry. Also really loving the BBK, you truly got them for a steal. The color is great. Hope they have improved more as you have driven on them. That carbon LED option they have is pretty.....interesting?....haha

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 років тому

      @@williambarrineau7153 ah really don't care for their carbon led thing, looks ridiculous and if you don't get it, you still get the drilled holes in your caliper to install it into which is silly. So far the brakes feel really good, the pedal is solid, no sagginess, but the initial cold bite is still not there. Like, the brakes work fine, but the pads just don't feel as grabby, so hoping with more driving it'll improve. If not, I can get a lot of different pad options for these calipers from other places. I am just glad the system works with no issues. But I do want that strong cold bite! Their customer service is pretty good, but not great. The guy completely ignored my last email asking some important questions, so yeah, can't say I'd recommend these over anything else. For the price, well, they are at 2k regular price which is not really a steal anymore. For 1.5k for sure, absolutely unreal!

      @@TheShaddix I've never heard of prodigywerks but they look pretty nice. If you want better pads, maybe you should take a look into the TDMImports over at Roman AutoSport. Not to mention, best bang for your buck at their BBK. Anyways, sick work with the extensions!

    Do you remember exactly who you purchased from? I’ve been looking for STI style side skirts in polyurethane finish, but I’ve only seen polypropylene and ABS Plastic made ones. My front and rear spats are made of PolyUrethane, so this is why I’d like the side skirts to be the same material.

    Lol at 1:17 I thought you had the water bottles and a piece of wood holding the car up, I was like what the hell it he doing. Also thank you for making such a clean and consise video instead of spending 20 mins trying to sell some BS merchandise. I'm subbing!

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 років тому

      haha, yeah I used those to hold the lip up at some point, but masking tape is really all that you need! Would be funny (or sad) if that's what I used to hold the car up. It's my first time installing something like this (awkward and flimsy), so I had to learn some of my own lessons. And selling bs merch will never be a thing here. If something is good, I will recommend it. If it's crap, I'll make sure to not install it and will mention it in another video.

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 років тому +1

      there are a lot of options for 15-17 models. Not so many for the 18+. The only good one for 18+ is the chargespeed, but it's around 700. For your car there are a few which I'd consider. But to be completely honest, if I had a 15-17 wrx, my first mod would be to get an 18+ front bumper as they made such a drastic difference on those, it looks way more aggressive.

    • @khanh6903

      @TheShaddix  5 років тому +1

      @@khanh6903 yeah fits fine as far as I know. Not too expensive, but the paint will cost you around 300-400 depending on where you take it. Make sure you take it to a good shop because they have to do a lot of prep work like masking out the black center area, etc. It's really easy to mess up!

    • @TheShaddix

      Thanks! Honestly, it's super easy. To install the new bezels you have to take the bumper off and just unclip the stock bezels. The Sti bezels clip right in. The blinker housings fit into the high beam holes, but you have to use some liquid electrical tape around them to seal them.

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 років тому +1

      JB weld. Would not be a problem as you just unscrew the screws. All that the jbweld does is create stronger threads around the screw, it doesn't actually glue the screw in.

    Why did you end up getting the wrx over the sti?

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 років тому +1

      I liked the way the wrx felt after I got out of a 2018 sti. The engine just felt much quicker at lower rpm. The price was good too for what you get (I got a base model), but I wouldn't mind paying 10k more for an sti if that's what I wanted. I just couldn't find anything other than the brakes worth the extra money. My plan was to mod it fully, so starting with a basic car was perfect.

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 років тому +2

      @@edgararanda1468 well, just ask yourself what it is you're missing in the wrx that you'll find in an sti? It'll feel slower stock vs stock. It'll cost a lot per month so you're back to making payments for something that's not even an upgrade to the wrx, more like a lateral move. I just can't see any point going from a wrx to the current sti. Unless you have major issues with the wrx, you should just mod it more or drive it and enjoy it. I can't even picture myself in any other car than mine, I just don't care for anything out there. My dream car is an R33 GTR, so when I can afford it that's what I will be building next, but I hope to keep my wrx alongside it.
