I believe that Archie and Veronica think he is dead, but Betty and Jughead’s plan involves him faking his death.

That's impossible. He had no pulse. That's why he said "he's dead. What did you do, Betty?" So the "fake death plan" isn't possible.

I think jughead and betty had a plan but things got wrong when betty heard the word from donna so betty killed jughead
He’s probably taken a serum which lowers your pulse rate so low that to any other person checking it they couldn’t detect it. Creating the illusion that he’s dead. And I think the special word has just been to hypnotise Betty not “make her hurt the ones she loves” and they’ve tried to make it look like Betty killed him or something. There’s Definitely going to be more to this. Betty didn’t kill him.

@@riveranderson9518 The perfect murder is the one where noone finds the real killer. Jughead is basically making the ultimate murder mystery by using himself as the center of the story. He's going to use the Stonewall prep guys as well as his own friends to write the single greatest murder mystery novel from behind the scenes.

It really is hard to believe whether he is dead or not, he did ask if Betty trusted him and they had a plan, but with that “ other” word from Evelyn makes me think she was apart of Jugs plan but then why would she want to help?? Jughead is dead. I you refer to other episodes in this season they end with Jughead being dead and his friends getting caught for the “cold blooded murder” of jughead. This makes it pretty damm clear that he is dead. In another episode we can see jughead dead under a blanket while FP is staring at his dead body, you can’t fake that

Lizette Switzer there’s a lot of missing scenes (like jug being missing on spring break, fp and Betty identity a body at the Morge and that fire scene (bc cole has said he was meant to be in it but was too cold). Plus jug is the narrator so I highly doubt he’s dead

Most likely what happened is Donna used the quote on quote trigger words and Betty played along and played her part and tbh they probs got a fake body that looks exactly like Jughead from that one dr. that Betty went to for every investigation and in some way donna couldnt tell the difference and this is how the perfect murder starts while Archie and Veronica arent in the picture of whats going on. Thats the most realistic theory imo we will see tho
Plus in the other scenes you can easily tell Jughead probably told Betty to act in the scene where fp "arrested" then jug could've just said to do that as part of his perfect murder plan
My theory: that Donna used the trigger word and it caused Betty to snap and killed Jug or Brett killed Jug and Donna and use the trigger word but she in actuality didn't harm him and purposely set all of them up
Jug did have some type of 'plan' with Betty tho. We need to remember that.

This is what I think happened. The stone wall kids that were at the end ‘pointed’ Betty and Jug to were it seems like there dead (the one like is Romeo and Juliette that makes Juliette appear dead) and then they put blood on Juggies forehead and a rock in Bettys hands so Whsn she woke up she would be confused and think she did it and that’s why she said he “Blacked/blanked” out

Jughead isn't dead. I know it seems far fetched but I remember from the Romeo and Juliet story, Juliet drank a potion that made her seem dead and sleep for 42 hours, giving her no sign of pulse that anyone can feel... I have a feeling something similar happened to Jughead so that is my theory, he is still alive, just unconscious.

There must be a scene before Archie + Veronica find Betty in the woods because why else would they be screaming and searching for Jughead in the season 4 promo. Unless Jughead didn't die and he then left the woods and when the police come to the crime scene he wasn't there and then they have to search for him.
