I would vote for the "glass slipper" effect with the clear glitter... Versas were a magical shoe for me in the past

I guess it depends on how much time you have. The blue dye and gilter sounds pretty . What does the owner want for decorating the shoes?
How do you determine size that the horse needs ? Do you carry several sizes? How much do they cost and how much do you charge for the labor to apply them? Are they easy to remove ? What do you use to grind the shoe with for adjusting it? Can you use a rasp to adjust the break over point after you have applied the shoe?
Are you using any thrush preventative ? Because it sure looks like it will be hard to keep the hoof clean once the shoe is on.
Good luck with the contest 👍

      Thank you for your comment!
-The owner doesn’t care how I decorate the shoes. She’s given me free rein!
-You measure the widest part of the hoof to determine size in mm’s.
-I carry lots of sizes of the grip lite because I apply those the most.
-They all cost different amounts for me to apply. Grip Lites total base price is $150. Grip glue total base price is $200.
-They are difficult to remove in one piece.
-I use a hand held grinder to adjust the shoes
-You can use a rasp to adjust breakover.
-I use hoof clay as a thrush preventative. The horses don’t have a problem getting thrush if the bottom of the hoof is open. If we have a lot of moisture and the hoof is packed with DIM the hoof can get a little funky underneath. But that usually just because there is material in there the horse is trying to shed and can’t.

I'm considering these but have a concern. I keep imagining it not being that good for the hoof wall to have glue on it 24/7 for that period of time. And I especially worry about removing them! Doesn't that tend to "peel away" the outside surface of the hoof? (Like enamel on your teeth?) I keep picturing it causing some kind of damage over time.

Hi there! Thank you for your comment! Thankfully with the super glue that doesn’t seem to happen! I have had one horse in back to back applications and the hooves still look great. When you remove them at the end of a cycle it does not peel off a layer of wall. The glue normally stays on the wall not the tab and then I remove the glue from the hoof wall with my rasp or Buffy. If the area where you glued the hoof wall was already compromised some could come off during removal. Like if the horse has overall poor nutrition, white line disease, or cracks. But probably 95% of the time everything looks great. This has by far become my favorite composite glue-on shoe.

@@The_Female_Farrier Thanks for the response. I hope I was clear that I didn't think an actual layer of hoof wall itself might be removed; more of just like a protective layer, like enamel on your teeth or stripping down a piece of furniture. I wasn't thinking of anything as drastic as a true piece of hoof wall. That would be REALLY bad, LOL!
I've never tried glue on shoes at all so this is all new territory for me to even just consider, although my farrier has recently mentioned it. She's just now considering offering them. My horse has Cushings which led to laminitis and ended up with just a little bit of rotation, so now there's comparatively less sole protecting him. I hate it because we've gone on Competitive Trail rides barefoot where EVERYONE else's horses were shod and now he can't go barefoot at all anymore. I've been using boots on him but lately they've seemed to make small irritations on both feet just above the coronary band.

@@jennydrumm7223 I have had great results with these for laminitic horses. One of the really nice things is that stand in the shoe during the application so they don’t have to good their hooves up for long periods of time while the glue is curing.
Daisy Bicking has a lot of horses she have glued applications on for years using mostly acrylic glue (which in my opinion is way harsher than super glue) and she hasn’t seen any I’ll affects. I think using the buffy is important though because you only remove a very fine layer of wall or even just periople.
If your horse has a normal shaped hoof through the toe the Octo would be super easy to use and you or your hoof care provider wouldn’t have to invest in a lot of tools to apply it. So if you or your horse doesn’t like it. You aren’t out a lot of money.

Video of the horse doing various things wearing them gets my vote.
