Well well well, would you look at that, your video popped up in my recommended feed. Great video man! Nice to see you back in front of the camera too. I'm sure your son is going to get a ton of use out of that thing. Heck I'd sleep in it haha. Keep it up man!
Thanks Kevin! 🙏 Yeah I really am happy with the way it turned out. It's so nice not to have to worry about him falling out of it and its really easy for him to get in and out of. I was also thinking that with a post in the one corer I could actually add another deck above it so he can have a little loft setup when he gets a little older! Maybe a future video. 🤔
Absolutely love this project! My kids now grown so no one to build it for now. Wisdom after a couple of hundred treaded inserts . . . just clamp in line with the inserts across the grain so that the wood Can't split. Also rub the threads on the inserts with candle wax or paraffin. Failing the wax, a drop of oil in the intended hole for the insert works but adds the danger of oil stain if you are not careful. Last and most important: Don't use the driver intended by the Mfgr. Thread a nut onto a bolt that fits in the threads of the insert. Run the bolt into the insert __almost__ protruding the other side. Tighten the nut securely against the insert, jamb-nut style with pliers and a wrench. Now use the tool of your choice (wrench, socket, etc.) to install the insert using the seized bolt. Hold the bolt secure and back off the nut then remove the bolt. Voila! Bobs y'er uncle.
This is amazing information! I use the bolt trick when I use keysert but didn't even think to do it with these ones. Again. Thank you much for sharing this knowledge with everybody. 🙏 I will definitely remember these on the next project.
That's a great point! I do need to consider some form of protection for it. The reason the table saw is there though is those doors are actually french doors that I put in so that I can bring in large sheet goods and feed them right into the table saw. My shop is 16x16. But you are absolutely right. When the doors are closed it would be a good idea to have some way of protecting the glass. I wonder if a heavy set of drapes or blinds would be enough?? 🤔
That's awesome Nicholas! I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the content enough to subscribe! Hope I can keep producing quality content. Thank you. 🙏
So so many good things in this video.... And you through in a click bait thumbnail that wasn't in the video. Sigh, thumbs up anyways. It was just really good. Way to go dude. Was in my recommended too., Actually another video of yours was, and I watched that too.
Thank you for the feedback Doug! Apologies for the click bait. It is true that I never got a video of my wifes uncertainty when I told her that I was going to build a bed without any plans. But the thumbnail was my best representation of the idea that I really didn't know if this thing was going to turn out right. Hope you continue to stick around anyways and thank you for the support. 🙏

Taking a break from building beds for my kids and watching you build yours. Nice work!
Thank you Chris. 🙏 I found it very rewarding to build him something that he enjoys and hopefully does for a few more years.
That's a really neat design. Perfect for that age!

Thanks Corey! 🙏 The kid loves it and we love it too cause now we have a place to lay when we isnt ready to go to bed. 😂
Great video! Cool design! Rotate your table saw 180 degrees!
Thanks Thomas! Why do you say to rotate the table saw?
@@JasonGrissom Your glass door wall might be the victim of a table saw kick back.
