      Thanks a bunch! A really great and unique tomato type. Hoping yours do great and get a good run with them. Each opinion can be different but for us this was a great grow and giving it another run this season.

      Thanks a bunch! It is a great tomato to try for sure. We are going with a few less main varieties of tomato this year but even so we had to go with this one again. It was just so good and unique. :)

    I've got my first green tomato of this variety. I'm looking forward to trying it. Got a late start this year on my heirlooms/OPs.

    Thanks for sharing. 👍🏾♥️
    I’m going to have to grow in containers only. So I really need this information to determine which varieties I should grow.

      Thanks a bunch! Containers can be a blessing and a curse for tomatoes. Now that me and Angel are getting better at it though we would still do it for the most part even if we had ground to grow in again.

    This tomato looks like a fruit. The baby blue is one I would like to try too. You have taught me so much about tomatoes! Did you get my email?

      Thanks a bunch! Got the email after reading this. We are so behind over here. Tomatoes are so interesting. This one was an insane good grow for us. So many unique things to learn about tomatoes.

      Thanks tons! If things don't resolve in the next month or two then let me know. Would be happy to send some your way if I'm able. We share tons of seeds out to the community during the cold season when things slow down.

    I am currently growing this tomato and though plant is more than two feet tall, there are barely flowers or fruits on it. I have made conscientious effort not to feed plant with two much nitrogen fertilizer so wondering why it is not producing. Please help!!

    • @UT33200

      Thanks tons! I want to make it clear I am not a professional but am willing to brainstorm an idea to maybe help. There could be a ton of reasons for slow growth. A few minor ones might be over compact soil suppressing the roots, a pest getting at them or some sort of plant infection. These three are not likely though and if it is them is almost unfixable. Another big one is the sun. In our grow area the hottest months of July-August can cause too much sun/heat and slow/stop the flowering process. You can usually tell if the plant is getting sun drenched even if the heat isn't high by if the leaves drape or become too soft and wispy in the day. We combat this by using shade cloth on super hot days. With the Sart R. being an indeterminate it may just need to fight the warm spell and will kick back in and continue to grow as long as you have season. Heavy pruning might help too. Cutting back leaf tips and removing extra suckers will stress it just a bit sending it into produce mode at times. We have noticed over here that indeterminate types that aren't pruned regularly will often keep producing plant and low production. Another major help we have noticed over here through the years is Epsom Salt. Alot of people assume E-salt isn't organic or will hurt the plants but is not true. E-salt is natural Magnesium Sulfate. Plants biggest needs are NPK(nitrogen-phosphorous-potassium). E-salt adds just a bit of the phosphorous but is not its best function. E-salt in the soil can help plants break down nutrients and draw them in. Sometimes the plant can have enough nutrients but have trouble drawing them in so E-salt can help. We use about 3 tablespoons of it per gallon of water and water that into the soil around the plant. Not sure if any of this helped or was needed info but appreciate the question. Again I am just brainstorming and don't know for sure based on your grow setup and area. :)

      Thank you so much for the quick response. I am definitely going to try epsom salt as i feel the other potential issues does not come into play because i am growing other tomato varieties in same potting soil and some are producing and it is too hot yet in my growing zone yet. I will be including epsom salt regimen. Thanks a bunch!

    what size buckets you grow in?

    • @UT33200
      @UT33200  8 місяців тому

      Thanks tons! For peppers we usually stick to the basic 5 gallon buckets but for tomatoes and about everything else it is bins that are 13 gallon or more. We do use a few pots that are 7 gallon size but usually for the larger pepper types or dwarf tomatoes possibly. :)
