      Be good to see real time applying first coat not speeded up, any tips to apply quicker, and so pointers on when you do your 1st and 2nd wet trowels. What's the average amount you apply per set too👍

    Mac sir! It's always a pleasure being taught by the master. I'm a 56 year old joiner with over 40yrs in the building profession, so doors, skirts, arch's etc etc is what I mainly do. I also build, render and plaster too. I've learned so much from you Mac mate and I just wanted to thank you!

    hi mac nicely done,funny story ive got a new tv that has you tube , pretty big picture ,but no way to comment, so on the old computer could i ask if the bricks were laid with lime mortar, reason i ask is quite a big thing here in oz not to cover anything with cement that was done with lime (i agree having seen what can go wrong) regards from alister

    • @macplastering
      @macplastering  Рік тому

      was rendered and originally done in sand and cement mate lasted around 100 years would say this will do better, better still would say the render is holding it together :)

      ps dude What's the 4k like on the tv ? new tech wont let you comment must be youtubes fault ? they might need an update likely be done in future but who knows LOL

    Hi I'm doing a timber frame extension..using hard inch board externally, what's best to put on board..silicone or acrylic. .what's the smoothest finish you plaster to use ..can you get a finish like sand and cement in silicone or acrylic..thanks

    • @macplastering
      @macplastering  Рік тому

      yes this finish is pretty smooth like sand and cement mate

    Learned the hard way, under soffits/ window sils got caught out (didn't wet enough)still learning ( working on my own, mixing, labouring, spreading 🥵 find it hard to keep the below work joint green while ruling floating etc above
    Quick question did you mean brickie mortariser (how much do you add to 8:2 gauged mix ) does that mean you use less 💧? Any advice would be greatly Appreciated. Love the rendering video's KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 🖖

      Would your cordless power float be any good for this job for this time of year or do you only use in summer ☀️?

    • @macplastering
      @macplastering  Рік тому

      More of these videos on the channel and more to come yet :) so its actually called plasticizer what it dose is helps make it spreadable / appliable by adding little bubbles into the mix this is why soap also works LOL but yes it will slow down the setting times also I dont add much like a little cap full or 2 per belle mix to much is bad as it will kill the cement also adding water proffer should help slow down the suction on the next coat but you don't want to kill it completely either its all a big balancing act really, big respect to you for going solo mate this game is hard to say the least appreciate your support :)

      I for got the batteries this day believe it or not but it would have helped at top but the very bottom was much wetter so I would have mostly likely done that level by hand for more control and feel / pressure
