I like your thought process. Can't wait to see it evolve further after you start driving it. I'm also thinking of my next build. LOL So many idea's develop as the plan comes together.
The frames around the mirrors I made. But the mirrors I got from KarTek. www.kartek.com/parts/kartek-offroad-5-convex-round-mirror-with-black-back-fits-ktk1000mb-ktk1500mb-ktk1750mb-ktk2000mb.html
That Hungry valley video is really good, like the trails I'll be on but with a lot more trees. Your bug looks like a blast to drive around there. Thanks for the comment.
john kovach, I thought it would be in the way if I did it early on in the build. As it gets closer to the end I'll tie the roll bar into the front/dash and I'll add some crossbars in the rear. Thanks for the comment.
The title says it's a 1967. But when I got this thing it was inches from the scrapper and I don't really think anything on it is original except the title at this point. If it was actually a good condition 67 I don't think I would cut it up. You got a good eye though.....:-)
to me it seems like you just wasted your time buying The Bug, with your Talent and skill, seems to me like you could have just built everything from scratch lol. when My kids were 3 years old and 5 years old, I was Living in Jakarta Indonesia and they Loved Herbie The Love Bug, so I found a metal fabricator and drew up Bug design and had him make me a special Herbie Bed frame for my kids, I'll send you a pic of it. this Bug is Awesome tho.
4 years later, every time I need some updates on my baja this is the video I watch.
He did such a great job!🙏🏾
Thanks buddy. 👍

Thanks! You might be my first comment from China. 😁
i hope to see your baja one day in person. you did a great job.

EZGZ, I try not to think about the next project before this one is done but sometimes can't resist.
Cool buggy , I built one back in the 80's not nearly as tricked out as yours , I powered mine with a 2800cc capri V6 .
Nice, I'll bet that was quick!
you deserve better seats. very nice build. thanks for making and sharing.
Real nice bug. Great Job.
Thanks!
For someone who is not a"suspension guy" that is one hell of an engineered chassis.Would love to have a chassis like that.
Thanks dude, appreciate that comment.
That a nice bug like ur video where did you get the body fit I want one for mine bug
Amazing project!
Arturo Ochoa, Thanks for the kind words and for watching.
This baja is very impressive. It will need a 2165cc to really make it fun! I like the roof rack you made.
Thanks bud! It surely needs more than a stock 1600!
Thanks alot that was very helpful and very intertaining ✌️
Thanks for the comments Dude.
Absolutely mind-boggling.....I agree you spent a LOT of time fighting rust damage....that's my only criticism....otherwise, it's a masterpiece.
Thanks! Appreciate the comment.
I want to buy a Baja Bug that has been built by an OCD guy like "Doug Bug"...! Mad engineering skills and welds.
LOL, thanks hankgs, that's a great comment.
Doug, did you buy or make the front end arms?
I made those front arms, and sadly I did that before I had the UA-cam channel. So no videos on those arms specifically.
Doug Bug amazing. 🤙
Is it just me but. How does Baja spell bahar?
great video! where did you get your mirrors at?
The frames around the mirrors I made. But the mirrors I got from KarTek.

Type 2 was the right way to go. Can't wait to see it on some mountain trails. Check out Hungry Valley in my videos.

fun to watch great work dug when are you going to tie the cage all togather

What size tires?
31 x 9.5 x 15 front, 33 x 10.5 x 15 in the rear.
W
@@DougBugBuilder what kind of tires are you running on this, I like how it looks
Nice Doug 🤙🏼
Thanks dude!
clear lacquer would save your beautiful parts look !!!
1 1/2 " tube .120 wall cage my choice
Does not look like a 67 the door handles are from a 68 - 70. The 1967 key holes were round push in type but who cares nice build.

Yeah, my wife tells me that all the time. But this was my first Baja. So I needed it to learn the ins and outs of it.
Cool
Thanks bud!

Thanks!
Thanks!
