There is a reason why we were recommending this one to you guys when there was just one episode out at the time. It’s freaking fantastic, and I’m glad you guys are reacting to it!
Twilight exposing his ideology here in his mind was important because that’s what makes Anya stop and go back to him. She trusts him with her life because she knows for a fact he’s a good guy now and that he basically sacrificed his life to keep children like her safe. His story is way deeper and how his ideology came to be will be explored later so don’t worry about that.
We all love Anya. She's absolutely adorable and will provide us with so many memes as the story goes on. Can't wait for the face ( you know which I mean) to be animated (:
8:46 I see where Nick is coming from but to be completely honest, Loid probably hasn’t cottoned on to Anya’s mind-reading because it’s just such an outlandish thing to even consider. Even if the notion popped into his head, he’d likely dismiss it immediately because there really isn’t concrete evidence telepathy is even a thing in that world. Kinda like how if you encountered a kid like that IRL you wouldn’t seriously consider the notion she’s reading your mind because without concrete evidence that’s even a thing you’d just sound like a crazy person asserting that.
Wholesome and badass! Anya is 007 and this series is spy related….. I saw what was done there. Lol Anya is very close to surpassing Eri in cuteness! Watch the next episode immediately!
I actually thank you for doing the dub and not the sub. I like watching (listening, really) to reactions while I work - and I really wanted to watch Spy Family reactions today. But out of the 2 dozen different channels I've checked with reactions for it, yours is the first one I've found that is doing the dub instead of the sub. Since I'm only listening, I really need the dub. So thank you for going against the grain! Also, I just simply prefer dub over sub, personally. Easier to follow and enjoy for me.
I like em both! The sub always has a special place in my heart, because ✨waku waku✨ and VAs are amazing, especially Anya. But the English dub isn't bad at all, and the jokes hit different because it's in English. I give them a perfect 100 points!
I'm so happy you guys are reacting to this show. I didn't realize it had a dub to be honest, but it sounds pretty good, though I do think the Japanese voices are vastly superior in this case so I wholeheartedly recommend reacting to that version instead.
They're the same. That's literally the only thing people say about the sub. "Anya sounds cuter." Please, I wanna enjoy a dub reaction for once in my life.
Aww, I thought you'd watch it in the original dub. The English dub is good, but the Japanese dub is better just for the delivery of lines alone. Anyway, hope you enjoy the series.
Wanna know something funny? the characters that i find the most interesting in this Episode/Chapter, aren’t any of the Major Characters within this Chapter/Episode, but it’s actually two Background Characters, the First Two Girls that we get to see when Twilight first steps in the Orphanage, one Longer the other Shorter, the Longer Girl appears to have Brown Hair that Curls Up over her cheeks, with a Big Red Bow on Top of her head and sort of has Half-Open Eyes, While the Shorter Girl appears to have Black-Brown Hair, with a Small White Bow on the Right Side of her head and has Big Round Eyes(though they aren’t that big the Anime) will Snot Running Down her Nose, she also Stands In Front of the Orphanage Owner when the other kids sees Anya off in the Anime, They are both amongst the very First Kids we get to see when Loid first steps inside the Orphanage in the Anime and is the Only Kids Drawn Clearly in the First Panel of the Second Page of when Loid is at the Orphanage in the Manga and in both the Manga and the Anime they are Standing Beside Each Other, I can’t really think of any other reason as to why i got so attached to these two Unnamed Orphan Girls, other than that i just found their characters designs interesting, When i first laid my eyes on them, i couldn’t help but let my imagination go wild with ideas and i just sort of ended up evolving them into being more recurring and prominent characters, If you’re curious about what kind of developments i gave them, then you could just give me a Reply and i can try telling you in detail, but the short version is that i pretty much just made them into Eden Academy Students, just like Anya.
@@snackeater4990 Not really, sadly enough. Most folks just default sub, even on older shows with dubs already out. Only certain shows with outstanding dubs get their's reacted to, like Yu Yu Hakusho and Code Geass.
I'm so sad. I can never enjoy reactions. It makes me focus on 3-4 things at once. Why is there so much pressure for sub? Like, if I wanted to read, I'd just go to the manga. Speed reading around interpretative actions and choreography is unbearable. And then you want me to pay attention to another screen to look at someone's face? Hell no.
Not gonna tell you to watch the Japanese dub Because we all have our own preference but I think the English dub Anya, her lines seems more mature than the Japanese dub
Hm, so Episode 1 really did only cover Chapter 1, not that i wouldn’t understand why, with a length of 70 Pages Spy x Family Chapter 1 might the longest Manga Chapter i ever read, though this kind of makes me wonder how Episode 2 will do about covering the Chapter(s)? Based on the short little Preview and 2’s Episode Title, it would seem like Episode 2 will might just be covering Chapter 2 (the same way Episode 1 only covered Chapter 1), which would be understandable since Chapter 2, might not be as long as Chapter 1, it’s still the second longest Manga Chapter i ever read with 55 Pages, Hm, but still, since Chapter 2 is still shorter than Chapter 1, maybe Episode 2 will then have a little more room to breathe? ‘Cause as good as Episode 1 was, i felt like it went a little too fast within it. Well, just have to wait and see, i guess🤷🏻♂️.
I do think, since this anime is thought-oriented, there should be some sort of reverb or something to differentiate thought and speaking, especially when they aren’t on screen
6:32 Probably the craziest Cold War experiment was that a lady was put in a waterlogged house with a dolphin in an attempt to get it to develop psychic powers and the dolphin was a male who was violently attacking her because he was sexually frustrated. The “scientists” then insisted on having her give the dolphin handjobs and then finally decided to give them both LSD.
man, you guys should watch it subbed on your own time, some small things that only show up in that, just not so much of a difference that you guys need to watch on cam.
Huh, okey this was pretty much my introduction to the Eng Dub version and I gotta say for a Dub this wasn’t that bad, it was pretty okay for the most part, with one exception, that being Anya, i don’t think they nailed her voice as well as the Japanese Version at all, she just didn’t sound as much of a child as you would expect, Overall it was, like i said, pretty okay, at least when it comes to how it sounded overall, otherwise well, I think the Dub just didn’t feel as natural as the voice actors of the Japanese Version made it feel, Speaking of which, i don’t think you ever mention why you decided to go with the Dub instead of the Sub, of course you don’t HAVE to mention you reasons, but i would still appreciate it, especially since it apparently was pretty hard to find the Dub Version.
While I enjoy most reaction videos, I have a confession. I am a MASSIVE Dub hater. I don't know why, but English voices almost always sound wrong for anime in my opinion (With a few exceptions)
@@colprom The japanese voice actress is far superior at sounding like a girl of Anya's age, usually japanese VA's are better at that anyways. Dub's also sound far more un-natural and these days the localizers mess up the scripts on purpose too, no wonder people have no respect for english dubbers.
Is this the Best Anime of 2022? Let us know what you think!
I absolutely am loving this series.
Well, hell yeah~!
I didn’t watch it but I heard it’s really great.
This anime is "Spy Kids" meets "Mr and Mrs. Smith" in the Cold War setting.
Perhaps. But I'll be happy if it one of those anime because I believe there's more.
Yes, but watch the subs.

7:38 "I want a pistol with a silencer" while giving the widest smile possible for a kid, is such a great contrast
And I want a unicorn, but we know all we're gonna get is a horse with an ice cream cone on its head and a pistol with a suppressor.
Ngl I thought she said I want a pencil with a silencer, but this makes a lot more sence

Twilight was a War Orphan.
There's currently a flashback thing about Loid's past in the manga, might be seen as an episode or two later on in the anime.
Thanks for the great input Nate, very educational. Hope Y'all enjoy the show.
Ya Boy Kongming is also surprisingly good.
The orphanage in this scene is hinted at being a trafficking drop house
In the subbed version, Anya sounds more like a little child and wayyy cuter.
