  • I love Cherry Hardwood. But this piece was too big for conventional engraving. The Thunder Laser BOLT has a built in camera and it once again, saves the day versus losing the sale. I'll show you how beautiful the engrave quality is on Cherry wood, and how I used the camera to make it happen. Cheers!

Use protractor against the honeycomb to estimate the angle. Do the center line like you did then do the design on blue tape to verify and fine tune the angle in lightburn. Blue tape has saved me so many times.

Sure wish I would have run across your videos sooner. I got a D1 Pro 20w but I am so looking forward to getting a bolt. Hopefully before the end of the year I will have one. The camera is such a nice feature. Can’t wait.

You probably already noticed it, but the "star" on the right side of the cup is a bit 🤪(goofy).

Not sure if you know this nice feature but: Settings > Filled Rendering (slower), enable that and you can see the words/engraving much easier.

Howd you get your camera so crisp like that, mine looks all blurry on my Bolt

Morning Ed! Mine came calibrated like that. However, I believe (my understanding) that you will find the ring around the camera lens is a focus ring so you can manually focus the camera. If there is blue stuff around the collar, that is there as a temporary glue, so to speak, you can peel it off and you should find that the focus ring will move. Thunder Laser USA did a video on UA-cam to show how to connect the camera and during that video , Chris references the focus ring. Have you tried that yet?

@@EasyED1992 I am sorry to hear that Ed. If I may suggest - give Thunder Support a call/ticket. Your machine should still be under warranty i believe(?). And they can troubleshoot it with you. It's worth the time, I thin. Good luck!
