  • I absolutely love how this soap turned out! There is something just so calming and peaceful about the creamy color with the pretty calendula petals on top! I also share how I infused olive oil with calendula petals

I love simple?, natural looking soaps Tammy. Here is a tip for you. I use a French coffee press for my chia, flax seed infusion etc. Also if you want some natural yellow color, add few annatto seeds to the oils. I add some of the petals, not many and it gives the soap some nice yellow speckles. Thank you

ohh Clivia!!! Great tips 😃 I have annatto seeds and never even thought to reach for them. But I have only used them in aa infusion - I never would have thought to add some to the oils 😍

@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique you can get beautiful shapes of yellow/ orange with annatto seeds. It’s a lovely simple to use seed for natural colors and it does not fades out. Thank you

There's something so nice about a simple soap sometimes. My favorite soap that I've ever bought from you -- in fact, one of my favorite soaps EVER -- was the Unscented Oats and Aloe. That made my dry skin sooooooooo soft. I still kick myself for not buying more than one bar.

I really think the soap you made today looks very nice for your soothing and natural theme.
I had to stop making bars w/o fragrance. They just dont sell. I had to give away all mine to family at Christmas because they were a year old and I kept getting, why didn't you put fragrance in them or I like fragrance, even if its subtle. I said, come on, its free and it will clean, would you prefer I didn't give you any? 😅 sheesh!
So fragrance free is off my list. 🤔
But I can appreciate a nice looking natural bar with great ingredients!
    Cheers 👍🤗💕

LOL - yep, they really don't sell for me either Cheryl. Other than I have 2-3 customers that purchase them all the time from me. If it wasn't for those I would not make them either. 🤓💕

haha - Wendy! Cue cards, maybe would be a good idea but I know I will probably never do it 😂 - I have tried scripting too, so I make sense, that lasted all of one video 😆

I love no added scent bars! I carry 4 different no added scent bars and each one does actually have a bit of good scent to it due to the ingredient profile.
Also I could have used a soapy sister today to laugh with...or at me. I also made a soap with an infusion, a coffee infusion. But the infusion was not enough to make up the portion of oil need, so after straining I grabbed the oil to begin adding and as I'm pouring realize I'm not pouring olive oil...i'm pouring castor oil!!! OMG and the screaming for my math checking hubby to hurry in and help me figure out the fix for this mess!!! LOL Any way I think hubby and I did the math okay and I carried on and finished the soap. We'll see tomorrow if all is well at the cut. So, go ahead, have a hard laugh on me and know there are times when I wish I had a soapy sister present with me while I make my messes to!
    BTW...your soaps are beautiful!

What about an infusion in water rather than oil

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  3 місяці тому

like a tea? I actually want to make a dandelion soap this year with a dandelion root tea and dandelion infused olive oil with the flowers. I am really looking forward to that one! 🤗

    • @lindagillies2561

Yes, a tea. I recently made a camomile tea infusion. It came out a lovely straw colour. When you added the lye it turns orange. I added camomile & lavender essential oil which turned out a bit sickly.
