To be fair, the government is relentless in pursuing escaped prisoners. Even if they go to Mexico, they get caught as Mexico and many other countries have extradition agreements with the United States of America.

Kind of hard to moan when both couples are dead and thrown in the trunk of the car which was stolen by the two fugitives. At that point they are already doing 88 years in a Supermax prison they have nothing to lose. Life is life whether they have death penalty or not in that case it’s not like they had a chance of parole anyhow. Facing that amount of time I feel anybody in their way should’ve gotten killed In order for the two to stay out

Been reading the comments below about getting caught after the escape...It's absolutely baffling to me how so many of these men who have escaped don't have a set plan on what to do when they get out. Escaping from any prison is usually a very thought out and lengthy process of chiseling away at metal bars, roofs, making tunnels...and even after that miserable process some take the risk of getting injured jumping off building or getting shot by a guard during the escape...whats the point of going through all that risk if you have a mediocre or no plan afterwards...the cops never take escaped prisoners lightly, you are priority #1 on their list...in other words you better have a damn good plan when you get out or you are just wasting alot of time and effort.

It really defeats the purpose of prison control when someone gets sentenced to life, or life without parole. Now they know, they will never get out so they have nothing better to do than try to escape and cause trouble because what's 20 more years added to a sentence your never going to outlive. Its the prison system itself creating its own problems and making sure those problems never get fixed

Did you know that a "life sentence" in the USA is 20-25 years? It does not mean they will be in there for the rest of their life. Yes you are correct on the last sentence. Private prison system is corrupt and a for profit structure. You have a "war on drugs" which failed miserably and by some extent helped the flow of drugs into the USA and guns. These drugs and guns then are used and put people behind bars...sounds like a crazy conspiracy but once you learn how the government works and corporations and capitalistic society, it doesn't seem all that far fetched at all.

Prisons all over the nation should invoke the silence rule from 10pm to 6am. One of the biggest complaints ive ever hear from X prisoner's is they cant sleep. There is too much noise. Which leads to mental health issues. I believe people need to be punished. But no sleep is pure torture. People will do almost anything including escape when subjected to torture. really cant blame them for for bailing. Glad they didnt really hurt anyone

I would never be able to escape jail and I sure as hell wouldn't survive being in jail so as much as people piss me off, I must obey the law because If I can't escape like these smart guys then I rather not do anything that will get me in jail. If I could escape though I would do so much better than these idiots when they actually make it outside the jail's walls! It's like their brains get plugged in for just that situation inside of the jail then just as soon as they are free their brains go back to mush, like these six escapees who did meth or crack just as soon as they escaped and got a hotel. They could have made it! They had a full plan inside of the jail but just became dumbass people outside of the jail.

If I were these guys, I would have started a new life in the woods like Mick Dodge, the Unabomber, or some of those people on Live Free or Die, build a cabin deep in the woods and live life the simple way. It seemed like they were nearly geared up for that after spending a little time in the bug-infested forests. I'd rather do that than steal from an old couple and get caught again. Police are waiting for you to make another mistake or a moving violation or commit another crime. Stealing a car and then speeding is a dead giveaway. You're just agreeing to give yourself up on the spot without meaning to do so.

Don't get me wrong it is a crime and a serious one indeed but prison should be for correcting people and providing guidance and help not putting them through torture and locking them up for good. I spent 12 years in law enforcement. One shitty cop changed my life with a bad call to make himself look better and I found myself on the opposite end of the spectrum. I don’t agree with them tying the people up or shooting at the police but being in jail is the worst feeling in the world. Being watched 24/7, the constant screams and people yelling, the horrid conditions, the mistreatments done by the guards. It’s all enough to make you rather die then ever go back. There is another side to the law and Justice system most people will never see and be grateful for that. Because it doesn’t matter how much good you do in your life, if one person decided to change that for you then they will and depending on what they say happened can change the course of your life entirely.

This was actually a pretty good show. I literally gasped when he shot at the cop on the highway.
How do these guys make such a rookie mistake of Speeding? I realize they are desperate to get as far away from Mississippi as possible, but at that point in the escape, they were reasonably "safe" from being captured or noticed. They should have been more careful. All the attention to details during the escape plan, but they get soo careless with the driving.
Had that cop not pulled them over, they may have just managed to get away and disappear into society.
They get to a certain point, then part ways and never have any further contact with each other so if one is caught, he can't lead police to the other one.
I realize these guys committed serious crimes, but for some reason, I hated to see them go back. I was actually rooting for them. Idk why. Lol

"How do these guys make such a rookie mistake of Speeding?" I've been to jail, and I can tell you jails and prisons are full of people who don't think before they act. The majority are not bad; they're just criminally impulsive.

Ya I thought he blew the cop’s head off, then they would’ve had a huge lead in their escape and would’ve been long gone by the time cops realized their officer died.

Everyone's surprised they're intelligent enough to escape but then get caught as if they weren't caught prior to to escaping 😆

These guys actually had the right idea at first. With hiding. Too many escapee's, are so focused on covering distance, and thus leaving evidence, or being spotted. That gives them a place to look for you. It's better when they don't know where you are. They should have broken into the house in a place that wouldn't have been discovered immediately , just taken some clothes and water and gone off on foot. Follow rivers, train tracks, places where you are unlikely to run into other people. Train tracks are amazing for this purpose.

The prison that comes closest to being escape proof is the ADX Supermax in Florence Colorado. And even then, it's only a matter of time before someone breaks out of ADX supermax.
