Thanks so much for watching and being part of my next life project! 😊. You absolutely need to sort any leak first. I'm surprised the neighbours haven't complained to be honest. No point in replacing any flooring or decorating until the leak is solved.
Will ! Have to say it is great when you and your life partner are doing your vlogs together, I have PMSL listening to the banter and love you both for keeping it real, takes me back to the late 70s when I and my wife to be bought our first home together, at the time I thought we were building a future, (however in my case it was a money pit!). Fast forward 45 years and we have some incredible memories, so remember your living your best life every day . Thank you both.
Thanks John, it certainly creates a few arguments doing something like this together but you're right it's all great memories and great life experiences and you know what they say......... what doesn't kill you makes you stronger😃
I suggest you keep all that tiling bc it's great and sort out the mold issues before you move forward in the bathroom and that wall between your bathroom and your bedroom. Black mold is no joke.
@WillsWhereabouts yeah it would. I keep telling my clients to use paper because I then have to sand it down and white coat even before I put the new coats on. Ps. All flats and houses have hidden issues. Bit like vans 😃 But your get there and change it from a flat to a home. You might find part of that issues in the basement ceiling will be from the leaking bath. So again. It will all dry out and be better
As someone who had an unexplained cough for years, due to an undiscovered dishwasher drip that caused hidden mold under tile & behind my kitchen cabinets, MAKE REMEDIATION OF THAT WATER/BATHROOM ISSUE A PRIORITY! If you're smelling it, then it's probably going to be a health issue once you move in and breath it in full time.
Pro Tip: You'll most likely have to deal with cleaning up some mold & mildew issues. Don't make the most common mistake by trying to use bleach as it doesn't kill mold. You'll need to get some industrial strength Hydrogen Peroxide or Borax. Borax is more non-toxic & less dangerous to use but I'm not sure how available it is in the UK.

@8:30 should have ran the shower and sprayed all along silicone seal and check under bath and otherside of wall for 5 minutes that would usually be step one and if that shows nothing inspect grout between tiles then spray with water if no suspect holes found. If not that worst case scenario maybe a pipe in the wall but best way to check for slow leaks is the slow spinning dial on water meter while using no water it should not spin but if it spins at any rate while not using water that's a slow leak. If it is only silicone leak best long term solution is using abacus shower tray sealer that sits between tiles and wall which obviously means taking tile off. All depends on location of water leak.
At first glance before taking bath door off it seemed quite over the top although having seen the state of under the floor tiles it's somewhat worth it. More testing should still have been carried out before removing parts but best way to learn is by doing. Congrats to having a partner with such great patience too 👍🏻

Can you put a claim in against the building surveyor ? I know what they would say, we only check the structure of the building, rip off . I never had any surveys done for this reason.
@WillsWhereabouts yes I think your right , I never bothered with a survey when I was your age buying a property with a mortgage as the bank/ building society do one, and that was good enough for me and I never had a problem with any of the properties. I ended up being a large landlord with many properties with and without the banks and never had those waste of money surveys.
The person who sold that to you absolutely knew how bad that bathroom was. Also, the inspector failed on this. Will you be getting any money back, getting a lawyer?
We did consider going to the company we had the survey done or even looking at an insurance claim but lots of people advised us that it was a waste of time
Why don't you use push fit for all your plumbing needs , plastic pipes that won't rust, do away with all your metal corrosion pipes and have clean plastic easy to fix push fit pipes, a simple shower wouldn't be a bad idea but you need a bath for when you come to sell it, you are doing the right thing by ripping it out and sorting out the problem.

Its already been renovated, new floors new kitchen, new bathroom. Do you mean you are just going to put your own mark on the flat as in paint and blinds etc?
Love all these renovation videos. One thing though…why do you keep doxing yourself? Giving away your flat number, showing your front door, showing the building then zooming out to show the area. Doesn’t seem the safest idea to me. Anyway hope all goes well and you both stay safe.
Well said. I mentioned the same last time they did a house video a few weeks back. Crazy risky if you ask me, its a very unique building as it is, let alone then zooming out and showing a pretty recognisable train station and town. I'm almost surprised someone hasnt posted the address in the comments or online somewhere already just to be awkward. Actually, i see someone has pretty much done that below.
I totally get your point and really appreciate people pointing this out as perhaps I should be more conscious not to show the location etc. From my perspective, I'm trying to build a story and a narrative and I think it's important to show certain aspects of the building, mainly in the video before. I also feel as if, if anyone wanted to find out were any A list celebrities lived or people with much larger followings than me then if you look hard enough you can find those details. We all know where Jeremy Clarkson lives and many other celebrities, granted they'll have tighter security I'm sure but I'm also someone that doesn't post provocative content that creates a reaction (I don''t think anyway) It's the same with car registration plates and even businesses having there home address down as the company address. My point is there really isn't much privacy or security now days, there's odd people everywhere and if people really want to find something out then they will no matter how much I try to hide or be discreet. I do agree that I could be more mindful and careful and going forward I will be (too late now really anyway with the last 2 videos but that's a risk I've taken). If someone wants to turn up uninvited they'll be told to leave but I'm definitely taking these points on board going forward so thanks very much.

Seriously, you need to take out the bathtub and clean under there and remove the fungus as best you can and possibly put new silicone between the floor and the wall if the wall into the bathroom is not rotten. I see there are some amateurs who have restored that bathroom, it looks very poorly done and it should be torn down and rebuilt.
Rip put the bathroom and the kitchen and start over... The two most expensive rooms in tbe house, this will put you in gud stead moving forward when you resell...

Big fan of Will. Loved his build a van series. So humble. Now, throwing figures about boasting about the cash he's made from our views over the years. Why do all humble content creators go this way?
It's a real shame that a few people have jumped to this same conclusion. Unfortunately UA-cam is a game where you have to get clicks and viewers attention and putting the price in the thumbnail and title is something that can help with this, I also like to be totally honest with viewers about how much things cost because it's interesting and scary the prices of property. Money and material goods is really something that doesn't bother me in the slightest and I even mentioned in the video that we have a 35 year mortgage which is a pretty standard normal thing to do in life
Ok well the bathroom didn’t need all that done at all. Bit of sealant round those rattling taps fixes that. How she puts up with him I do not know. Completely unnecessary wrecking of the bathroom there.
English standards 😂pay 265£ for flat and still lots to do😔 eave new buildings it's build shit in Bangladesh was higher building standards like in England 😅

Hi take care
for resale value a tub is worth more than a shower, BUT, i removed both tubs in my house because showers are just cleaner.
A bathtub adds more value to a property, why's that?
@WillsWhereabouts more people like the option to take a bath or a shower (more options), i suppose.

Honestly, I was one cup of tea away from opening a wormhole in my living room!” ☕😂 Dont worry we are all mad in Somerset
Its already been renovated, new floors new kitchen, new bathroom. Do you mean you are just going to put your own mark on the flat as in paint and blinds etc?
It hasn't been newly renovated thats for sure😂
I also said on last video but he deleted the comments...
Really risky, literally takes 2 mins to find i wouldn't be putting my home on YT
We all know where Jeremy Clarkson lives and many other celebrities, granted they'll have tighter security I'm sure but I'm also someone that doesn't post provocative content that creates a reaction (I don''t think anyway)
It's the same with car registration plates and even businesses having there home address down as the company address.
Have you fitted a diesel heater yet? 😂😂
not yet 😂
phew at 18:13....
🤷♂️
OMG, your poor bathroom!!
tell me about it
Why do I feel like iv seen this video before and when you change the pipe as its leaking

Yeah I'm worried about the floor as well. Is it compromised and if so how much?
Id get your Brother in
yea I totally agree it all needs to come out and re done properly
you'll find out soon
😂 he's worse than me at all this
Rip put the bathroom and the kitchen and start over...
The two most expensive rooms in tbe house, this will put you in gud stead moving forward when you resell...
Yea this is something we are considering
Here is £2 towards your new bathtub/shower 😂
haha thanks very much, that certainly covers the cost of some new silicone
@WillsWhereabouts good luck! Loving the series!
Why do I have déjà vu? 🤔
Life: Again ‼️😁😁

@WillsWhereabouts 👍🏻🙌🏻
Will’s Whereabouts,,,,,,, in a flat end of chanell . ?
Chanell, who?
Yea I'm lost on that one too 😂
Big fan of Will.
Money and material goods is really something that doesn't bother me in the slightest and I even mentioned in the video that we have a 35 year mortgage which is a pretty standard normal thing to do in life
That basement should have been a red light! Get out of there quickly!
Ok well the bathroom didn’t need all that done at all. Bit of sealant round those rattling taps fixes that. How she puts up with him I do not know. Completely unnecessary wrecking of the bathroom there.
You've commented far too early 😂, wait until you see the rest of the videos and you'll be taking back your comment I can assure you
Now would be a good time to install that composting toilet and recirculating shower…Wait what channel is this?
😂😂
I'm sure you need to replace anything wet like the wood. That's nasty.
yahh we need to do some further investigating
Plumbing is not my thing 😂
Which bit IS your thing will? 😂
everything else 😂
Which Pikey Installed that tub? Seriously!
why,...
why what?
YESSSSSSS
👊🏻
The thing you use to scrape thing is called a dry wall scrapper. Did you buy this place without looking at it first? This place should be condemned
Nahh we went in completely blind .......................... I'm joking , of course we viewed it
As you get older - if you want to live there for years - you will realize that having a walk in shower is much better for ageing limbs. 😉
haha I can imagine
If the other flats there are watching this , I can foresee a mass exodus!
😂
Please use gloves and and a mask when working with things like mold :O
I thought the whole building is yours for that amount of money😒
LOL I wish
Welcome to debt 😂
The money pit.
😂😂
Plumbing is the worst part of DIY.
So far, I don't mind it
OMG 🤣🤣🤣
Damn this was hard to watch
I never said I know what I'm doing 😂
I never said I know what I'm doing 😂
English standards 😂pay 265£ for flat and still lots to do😔 eave new buildings it's build shit in Bangladesh was higher building standards like in England 😅
haha I tend to agree with you here 😂
Why do you keep uploading the same material dude. Seen this twice now
If you watch the video you’ll realise it’s a different video. I had initially uploaded a version of this on my second channel a few months back but then decided to delete as I wanted to keep everything on the main channel going forwards. Now I’ve caught up with those 2 videos everything going forward will be completely new and fresh to everyone 👊🏻👊🏻
@ ok bud. Have a great Christmas. Good to see you back
I’m glad you asked that and Will’s answered because we thought that too!
and you mate, next video will be completely new
@@WillsWhereabouts THIS one defo is NOT NEW 🙄🙄
