Thanks so much for re-designing our space!! Love the outside of the box thinking with the stud wall and mirror wall. We hope to work on the remodel this summer and keep you updated on how It goes!
Client satisfaction the direct testament of an inspiring work. You always put in conscious and unquantifiable effort in examining every possibility around the challenge. It's interesting how truly intricate the human mind is... however, if this was my space, I probably would have opted for a 2 color combo of a darker shade around the "mess" area and a lighter one around the studio area... then also combined a textured finish vs a plain one to create the transitioning from Hard to soft, mess to ease... But thats just me. Weldone Architect!
Love this series! Was shocked to see the inclusion of a dividing wall but I can see how it would sense in this space. I can't help but feel that if this was my space I wouldn't take the advice to paint it black but also understand the sentiment to want to mix it up 😅
The mirror wall is cool but i think in reality more storage shelves would be required. Shelves with storage bins? Id like to see a more accurate depiction of the amount of 'stuff' that was in the original photo rather than just removing everything . Love watching the design process though! Thanks for posting . Im addicted to this series . Would be great if the clients could show photos if they implemented any of these designs youve done in this series ....maybe a follow up video collection?
why, he wants to train inthere mirros perfect. u dont need to keep everything also??? 5 cans of half paint? worth 40£ so u wanna model your room after stuff like that? redesiging room also time to trow stuff out you dont really need to keep.
The space appeared so much larger despite painting it black. I thought it would feel more claustrophobic but turns out to be more spacious than before. So cool! You are really an amazing designer, sir Daniel!🙌🏻🫶🏻
Ya that's weird that people feel that way, for me white has always felt more claustrophobic, like an asylum. Black felt limitless especially if it's an extremely dark shade, it feels like outer space, literally and figuratively.
I think that the point of his design rather than making the space look bigger was to make it more welcoming to work, but I agree that it looks more spacious
small comment, small engines don't generally like being tipped like that for long periods. the oil gets into all the wrong places and the gas can leak. if this was an electric lawn mower then sure.
I’ve binge watched your videos the past few days seeing as we’re about to have our 16 year old flat, renovated fully for the first time 🤯😍 Love all your ideas and gives me lots of inspiration! Thanks!
hahahah I almost send you the same project but smaller. a shed of 6 sqm that I want to turn into an office/tools room. I have empathize with this project since I am in the same position as Alex with a kid and 2 on the way. Good job Daniel!
Love the space optimization... It's a tight space... And you optimized it well.. But honestly... I think in this case, the change of color isn't needed, maybe with another design that isn't as congested.. A dark grey (like concrete color) would have been better if you really needed that dark theme.. But I think the mirror wall helps, although, could get dirty and dusty fast considering the environment... Or even damaged. All said, lovely design, I do have a dark grey wall myself, but considering changing it to something brighter. But yeah, like you said, the dark color isn't for everyone.
black? Instead grey or off-white wall could've been preferred for creating more lighting inside room. The room looks more depressing than ever by lack of ambient light
Love your videos - especially talking about the software tools used to get the visualization. My only comment would be for the space by the washer and dryer to include a horizontal table used when doing the laundry to hold the clothes - clean and dirty. By stacking the washer and dryer, that horizontal space is removed, and the user has no workspace to sort, fold, spot clean, mend and generally DO the laundry.
This looked like the most challenging design you've had thus far and I genuinely had no idea how you'd be able to improve the space (exactly how I felt with your Crowded Home Office, Gym & Bedroom redesign). Once again I'm astounded by your ability to milk every last square inch for functionality, yet still make everything feel spacious and organized. Love the creativity and look forward to more content!
I really look forward to these. It helps me look at my existing spaces differently. I recently found your channel last week and love your content, thank you!!!
Love it! One of the best series currently on UA-cam! Only one thing on this one, you have to be careful when placing shelves above a standing desk, although of course the pegboard allows for easy rearrangement
Loving this series so much! You've incorporated much of your foundations in your UA-cam channel - Architecture, Minimalism, and Tech into one banger of a series. Hoping I stop procrastinating and start filling up my spot in the form lol
You can’t store a lawnmower vertically like that, the oil will settle in parts of the engine that aren’t meant to be submerged. Likewise, the gas tank isn’t meant to have gasoline sitting on the gaskets and seals long term.
Amazing as always. I'd love to see what you could do with re-designing a space that's already thought about and optimized. To see if you would do things differently. Sort of like a rate my space type video?
Loving the bold move of making it entirely black! And the windows also seem to tie the office space and the entrance together. I was imagining maybe the wholes in the bicycle/desk wall was all the way through, so you had some light from the entrance area as well.
I truly LOVE this series! I hope it's something you enjoy as I, and I'm sure many others, enjoy seeing your take on redesigning spaces. Proper Renovating is underappreciated Just adding a different material to existing layouts doesn't take away the problem it has. It doesn't make it functional. Ooohh, a thoughts came to mind, have you done a master class on layout design and redesign?
I think the redesign space-wise with the wall and clearly design designated areas with their specific purpose is spot on! Really best use of space. As a industrial design engineer myself, I want to suggest some iterations: 1. I would be really annoyed working on something and having to get up everytime to walk over the the other wall for tools and stuff. So I wuld put all the tools and materials within reach: above the workspace. 2. Make the pegboard across the workspace the designated area for sports stuff(you kinda forgot to adress this in the video): so peg all the sports equipment to this side, that way, extra segregation between space functionality is defined. 3. I hate working in dark spaces, I want light, warm and cozy. But each their own. A white/light wall and ceiling (perhaps a split-colored ceiling?) behind the work counter and black wall for the sports pegboard and mirror wall would further destinguish the 2 different functions of that room, also taking away visual clutter from the sports equipment on that pegboard. Now the light color draws all focus and attention to the workspace, to really draw you in and stay seated and focussed on the projects, whilst creating a 'void' when working out to revert the focus from the space on to yourself and your body.
You're a dreamboat! But a laundry table\surface is a must for me! Something that hinges off the wall could have worked here perhaps. Keep up the great work!
As much as I love your videos, there's a bit of constructive criticism: stacking mowers vertically or turning them upside down is a big NO NO - unless you enjoy big old oil leaks.
Hey bud I have a question about building extentions and office rooms. I'm a 3d designer so super savvy with architectural rendering and design. But what I'm not confident with is the nitty gritty of actually designing this stuff. Stopping water coming in, roof angles, regulations etc. Is there a place online you can do like a lil course in architectural stuff like that?
Only let down was seeing you place lawnmower vertically 😳 which is a definite NO NO! Will flood the engine or leak fuel everywhere.. but other then that love your work mate!
amazing. but confused how a peg is suppose to hold up a shelf when inserted into hardword/plyboard. The board is not that thick, and wont the peg droop?
Man that dark mood is so me. Loved this solution. Just not sure about that space to pass between the bikes and the washing machines. Seems tight and prone to get stuck on the bikes. I would prob hang the bikes on the wall next to the mower even if i needed to move the office wall a bit more and get a bit less space for the office side.
black color ma absorb light so if our doing laundry then u need to look for possible stains in a bright environment, use bright wall colors near laundry machine
I don't see hanging the bikes facing the door is convenient. It takes a lot of space, along with putting the laundry machine against the passage to the desk area
Loved it!! One issue i see is the shelves above the standing desk, with shelves above it, standing desk would not be very useful, might be better to use a regular desk and have some storage underneath
Yah know what Daniel?!!! This looks like sooo much fun! I bet you love what you do! How do I know? It shows in your great and thoughtful designs! AND I am geeking out as well! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and designs! Not many people can think of designs that truly show how things can be adjusted to fit a certain budget or space ✨🎁💜🔑🕰🪶💻🎥🪜🔨🪚🛋🛏🪑🚪📐🧠
Daniel You do really great job, You makeovers has inspiration for me. In this remodel You could use rotating hangers in the place for bicycles. They are perfect for several bikes, saving even more space. Nice remodel once again. Go bigger! Heers!
Hi Daniel, I have been following you from quiet a time and watching your videos. I had once see one website where you drop all your photo's on whiteboard like layout, before modelling. It would be great if you please give me the name of that website. ThankYou! Keep up the good work.
Would you consider doing a "critique my design" video. I am building a house, and as in every house there is a problem room, which in my opinion are the best to work around. What would you thinkif I was to come up with something in SketchUp and you critique the heck out of it ? Btw I am not an architect !
Fraid of children reaching tools they shouldn't? What about running in getting eyes poked by bicycles you would only encounter when you are falling on one
Epic video Dan! Would you look at creating a tutorial video covering your process from Sketchup to V-ray with where you get your textures from? Really inspirational content mate!!
You are genius when it's comes to spatial relationship and details. So love your solutions and am really enjoying this series. Can't wait for each new episode. As to this one I appreciate the changing up for a dark and moody look and it does look cool however, I think given the activities in the room (school work/modeling/laundry), you'd want more light. Also, their family is expanding so I would have added some covered storage for laundry detergent and the like and a collapsible table for folding clothes. Also, more storage for the bulkier items: golf clubs, tool box, leaf blower, etc. that I see in the original photo. Thanks so much for re-designing our space!! Love the outside of the box thinking with the stud wall and mirror wall. We hope to work on the remodel this summer and keep you updated on how It goes!
subbed to see if you make any videos about it!
So glad you like it Alex! 😃 Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!
But did you implement it ? What's the real life result?
Client satisfaction the direct testament of an inspiring work. You always put in conscious and unquantifiable effort in examining every possibility around the challenge.

If I do, I’ll ensure lumen is high enough. And there’s diffused lighting. May end up looking quite cosy.
The mirror wall is cool but i think in reality more storage shelves would be required. Shelves with storage bins? @@silverbulletin846 The 5 cans of half paint will be used in the remodel 😅
The mirror is right opposite the windows, it will help illuminate the room perfectly. Plus what the above first commenter had said. ☝🏻
My thoughts exatcly.

Exactly. It's going to leak for sure.
that's super interesting! thank you for that information
Classic architect vs engineer moment
Good video but you cant stand a petrol mower on its end otherwise you will flood the air filter with fuel/oil
This is my favorite series. I feel so inspired to keep reworking my spaces and unlocking its full potential.

Absolutely love this series, can't wait for it to come out! Well done!
Love this remodel so much!! Can’t wait to use this as inspo for my garage build
I'm still watching but already liked the video, I'm new to the channel but I'm enjoying this series so much, please continue the hard work! :)
I love this series, it's great to see the process happening and to get the explanation of why things are thus, brilliant!
Keep going with the series, very enjoyable.

How about the thermal characteristics? Will the owner need heating/cooling?
you never disappoint Daniel! Love this series.
you do realize that mowers that are gas powered are not to be upright due to oil / fluid leakage, right? not to mention the gas tank odor
I really look forward to these. It helps me look at my existing spaces differently. I recently found your channel last week and love your content, thank you!!!

That was my first thought as I watched this! Going to be hard to start the mower after that...
Didn’t expect another video of this serie. Black walls fits perfectly and everything was so spacious. Love these videos, keep going man!
Niceee. Been waiting for another episode.
It was super enlightening for sure.
Two Videos in short span of time!! Love it!
The added wall was a super move! Great concept. I would have used colour instead of black, but that's Just a Matter of taste.

OMG. This was aMAzing. Caveat: Please, please, please, PLEASE stop chopping off your head. Video editors do not understand😉, sorry man.
I'm still undecided if my setup is good enough or not. But great design as always ❤️

Love your works and hope to see more videos like this!
Hmm… Is it possible to have a sliding main door? Like a barn door style? But I suppose that’s beyond your influence.
My new favorite series on UA-cam
Hi Daniel, absolutely loving this series. Great work and really inspiring!!
Your designs Never disappoint ! What a clever way to add more storage whilst creating division for a creative work space.
This is really nice. Shows how simple solutions can be. The seperating wall and the vertical storage made a large difference
Only let down was seeing you place lawnmower vertically 😳 which is a definite NO NO! Will flood the engine or leak fuel everywhere.. but other then that love your work mate!
Aren’t the pegboard with the shelves countering the height adjustability of the desk?
3rd video in a row! I have just stumbled upon this amazing dude. Thank you for the content.
I like everything. I would like more lights in the back, but otherwise, a very inviting space!
Wow this is so inspiring for my cave-garage-warehouse-art studio-climbing gym!😂
wow! new subscriber here.

I loved the results. But he will need more storage... for the sports stuff, for example.
First step is to properly insulate and close up the shed, that place is going to be absolutely freezing
Amazing. Your most beautiful concept yet
Loved the final outcome! the stud wall creates a nice separate space
Loved the final outcome! the stud wall creates a nice separate space
I would add a fold-down folding table with a high overhead clothes hanging bar on the wall near the washer-drier.
Wich app or site do you use to design the rooms i want to change my room an maybe wanted to ask you or make is myself but idk wich app or site to use
Can u make a video about the basics programs u used to form the space ? Like a tutorial
Is it a good idea to store a petrol-driven lawnmower on its end? I suppose you know by now ...
in india we have bedrooms smaller than 140sq feet :)
Could you please make a video of how to edit your renders in photoshop
You are cutting out all the light coming from the window with the wall there. Why not put it on the other side?
This is weird but tell me about your shirt lol. Honestly, who makes it?
I like some black but I'd probably have one wall be a light color.
Don't store gas lawn mowers on their side, oil will pour out of it everywhere
Cannot tip a mower over. Carb will get flooded, oil can leak out.
Hello, I love your ideas what you can do with the space a not waste space an unused.
I really like the wall with the holes. Indeed it is dark but you can easily paint it white.
Great use of space, but painting it black totally lost me.
first like, then watching the video :P
Glad to see your channel picking up steam again!
if the client finds it too dark maybe use gray for the walls
Wooow hes back with the awsome projects
make video about your daily grooming routine please

I really didn’t think the black would work, but once revealed there was so much more light than I thought. Amazing job!

i would of added a window in the bike wall with some sort of shutter
