I commute daily in a VXR Nurburgring and can honestly say that on the A roads it's a pleasure to drive and will sit at 60mph without you feeling like it's trying to pull constantly but has that incredible power to safely blast past any HGV that you catch up to (where safe to do so). B roads it will stick to those corners like glue and of course you'll feel every pot hole you hit but that's the same for any car with low profile tyres and race suspsension. If you want comfort buy a BMW, if you want a car that's gives you that buzz every time you sit in the drivers seat then get a VXR. I do a rural commute every day and find it a comfortable yet exciting fun drive every time I'm in it.
Hi james sorry for my bad english I drive a corsa vxr too but a (e vxr ) and i must say that suspension is for the streets realy terrible But when u drive on a good paved road then is the car amazing
Late for the party but same here. I got the non-UK European version (AKA Opel Corsa OPC) and I agree. It is definitely the most harsh car i've owned but on the highway apart from obsecure wind and tire noise it's quite alright. In the city even if it feels a bit rugged it's definitely manageable. And yeah, pretty much any car with low profile tires and race suspension will feel like shit driving on public roads but it truly isn't meant for that. On track however with TC off and tire pressure lowered after they have been heated properly the car is an absolute weapon. I have couple of friends with 208 GTI and they said they wish they had the same suspension my OPC has from the get go. Not the most comfortable or fuel economic daily, but where you want it to be fun it absolutely bashes every expectation on your mind.
I love my Corsa OPC with all 'burg' mods (stage 2), and seeing no-one else drives it, as we have a 'real car' with lovely a marshmallow ride, I don't care about my harsh suspension! I do enjoy James' work though!
@@Lord_Stig i own a 2013 corsa vxr and the ride isn't even that bad, i've lowered mine slightly so it's a little harsher than standard, but overall, great little car.
Mr bloody negative. James May. We the UK have the worst roads in Europe.Pot holes everywhere and thousands of miles of roads need resurfacing.Even cars with standard suspension are pretty unrefined at coping with this problem.
People in the „real world“ just buy a normal car. This is a extreme car for enthusiasts. And the last argument is made for comedic reasons, that’s all…
@@yiesyies365 why not? It’s achievable. A Bugatti La Voiture Noire might be a „cooler“ dream car, but I’m pretty sure that i met between 0-2 people in my whole life who might ever be able to fulfill the dream of buying that one…
@@erebostd Well Said! My dream is a Murcielago but given the price which is super high, and the fact that each panel costs like £20K if damaged and that it has no storage and about 2mpg I know it’s the most impractical car ever. I own a 2014 VXR and it’s my first (sports) car. My achievable goal hopefully one day is a first generation Audi R8. That’d be nice :)
Actually it’s a corsa e which is the performance pack optional extra as it’s stiff suspension, supposedly bigger brake callipers etc which ain’t the best for daily driving

Love this! I just bought one yesterday, my insurance starts next week and I’m super excited to start using it!

How much was your insurance? @Dressagio

All fun and games until your headgasket blown 😂

@@HorseMeal fortunately havnt had that happen to me yet, unfortunately she's been a non rummer for the last 5months
Such a great car
you dont buy a corsa vxr for it to be comfortable so that last part of the video is completely irrelevant
True but Im looking for one to have as a daily so somewhat good to know 😅
But will just buy the normal Opc and be happy 😄

@@SouthRevolution Happy to hear that mate! Feel I need a change from big bulky cars and as a opel fan this feels like a perfect choice 😀
Vauxhall Corsa (D) VXR
They are great on a back road
I love mine on the back roads ive got the corsa e vxr
Beautiful but want a Vauxhall Corsa VXR because it's a car from Vauxhall.

Doesn't change the fact that the car is shitty.
What year is this bad boy?

My uncle has one built up as a track car and its rapid and one of my dream cars
Dream cars a corsa 🤨🤨

I’ve heard it’s best to not buy the sports package or whatever it’s called

Its a £3000 option. Bembo breaks, uprated diff, and suspension. But vast improvement .But ride is compromised by our shocking roads and pot holes.
