- Law enforcement says they have a zero tolerance for reckless driving as some people say loud noises of vehicles revving keep them up in the middle of the night.
They had Sacramento speedway but closed
Totally agree. The county forced the closure of the sacramento raceway and now they wonder why street racing has increased. Yet another problem enhanced by government. The raceway was originally far away from residential homes, but the county keep allowing new nearby construction, so naturally the new residents complained about the noise which led to its closure and the increased street racing

Gramps from 1960’s big block cruising strip some of us got our cars towed and tickets also . Then our dads took the keys away and shamed us . We had plenty of race car areas away from the city . That’s what’s needed now designated area to gather and public tracks .
Problem is that no one wants to take responsibility for having a designated area for racing, side-shows, or just display. Things like liability insurance, waivers, crowd control, security, lighting, trash clean-up, etc. all cost money that no one wants to spend.
@@WarHawk- No one can afford to spend because it's so outrageously expensive, largely because one track or venue after another gets closed by developers moving in, building near the tracks, then residents complaining about noise when they knowingly bought a home next to a race track... So the few left are charging $1000 or more just to get in the door for a few hours.
We had sac raceway until the people who bought houses between and airport and race track complained about noise. You know because they bought a house between an airport and race track. 🤦♂️
You know, We got all these GTA games, and Gran Turismo, and Need For Speed.
But, just because we got all that doesn't mean we get to do it in the real world.

Those guys and girls doing burnouts, donuts, hanging outside of their windows and hurting other people are called Street Takeovers. They are the real criminals and are giving racers a bad name. Street Racing is about your Tuner cars in a straight line, not doing stupid stunts. We should be focusing on a new goal, trying to legalize Street Racing in a safer way. Build some new roads and freeways, close them off to the public and let the Speed Demons race their Tuner cars in peace, without the cops giving them trouble. I don't understand why people hate racing so much. The public needs to do some homework and realize that Street Racing has been around since the 1950's. There will always be a new generation of Street Racers, and the community will continue to grow. Street Racing is the future, and hopefully it will get legalized in a safer way sometime during the next 6 years.

Build more venues, stop allowing developers to develop near racetracks, and stop shutting down race tracks. I don't want street racing or sideshows as much as anyone else, but there's clearly an appetite, and all these crackdowns do is push the problem to the next town over. People need reasonably priced access. I have a good job, but it's over $1000 to get on Sonoma for a few hours. And then your diving an hour or so each way for said track. That doesn't justify the bad behavior, but if you want to fix the problem, provide solutions, and the crack downs and clean ups, which also cost a lot of tax dollars, won't be needed.
We need to repeal noise ordinances. It's against personal freedom. You don't have a right to quiet.

willow springs is a great track and doesnt cost that much ive done a lot of track days there with my car clubs more people cheaper it is..even then there are idiots out there who want to be racer boys or girls....way safer then the stupidity on the streets...

San Joaquin County’s Sheriff has an effective policy and plans for dealing with side shows and street racers.

I do agree on one point. There's going to be push back. Not all of us from the car community are causing mayhem and wrecking into people's cars and stuff. Some of us do follow the law at the same time we want to build up and show off our performance cars and trucks. If we want to speed. We'll gladly take our car's to raceways and other car events. The state needs to acknowledge were here to stay and they need to provide more open roads for legalize events.
Like ALL of society now, the few stupid ones make life hard for everyone because the belief is that the dumb ones need to be protected. Look at all the warnings on all items, plastic bags are not to be placed over your head. Coffee is hot.
