For me personally, half the enjoyment of this song is watching John Travolta dance.
The Bee Gees official video for ( You Should Be Dancing) is absolutely epic. Live 1979 Spirits tour.
I had a blast dancing in clubs to disco music. Just a blast. Great exercise!
"What'cha doin' on your back? You should be dancing, yeah"
Disco music at it finest!!!!!!!!!!!!
Barry is saying, "Whatcha doin on your back"
You should be dancing, yeah
Dancing, yeah
What you doin' on your bed on your back? Ah
What you doin' on your bed on your back? Ah
You should be dancing, yeah
Dancing, yeah
Dance until you can dance no more....then dance some more anyway when the next great song comes on. This is one of those. Oh my what a time we had in the 70s. FUN all the way. Glitter ball, platform shoes, men that could and would dance all night. Sigh. Great times. And Patrick, I saw you chair dance, not an event we witness too much. Cool.
I remember back in the 70's, going to the clubs and dancing to this song on the lit up dance floor. So much fun!😄
Was absolutely amazing🕺🕺💃💃💃👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
He's saying "Whatcha' Doing on your back, whatcha' doing on your back, you should be dancing, yeah, dancing, yeah"
Bro's, you'll love their "To Love Somebody", "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" and "Nights On Broadway"!!
Chills come all over my body watching the Bee Geez perform this song in concert which lasted 12 minutes...watching Barry, Andy, and Robin hit those high pitched notes at the ending of the song....Perfection!!!!
Great feel-good song - can't sit still to this one! Two more of their 70's classics are: "Nights on Broadway" and "Jive Talking". Thank you guys so much!
Same! Sitting here jiggling without realizing it :)
Yep -- "Jive Talkin" is a requirement.
You should check out the live version from 1979. It also has them joined on stage by their brother Andy. I was at that concert. It was outstanding
Fanny Be Tender is so amazing. Love that song from their Main Course Album of 1975. MJ's producer Quincy Jones proclaimed it to be the Best R&B performance on record.
bee gees Don’t Wanna Live Inside Myself
Dancing in the club's at 18 year's old and having so much fun💃
Love these brothers they are remarkable!! I love the Bee Gees and was able to dance to this wonderful song when it hit the charts. I have always been a fan and will always be. This music is forever, it is still loved today. It is good on see the younger generations getting turned on to the Bee Gees. Great reaction guys loved it.
This was usually their closing song for all their concerts because it really got everybody up and joyful. I wish you had done a live performance; I so love to see Maurice dance when he's not on the keyboard. The video from their Texas concert that included Andy on stage with them on this is iconic, too! ❤
This was the big disco dance scene with John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever! The BeeGees were the main soundtrack- number one album for years!!!!
This disco song, You Should Be Dancing from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack is a real cracker! From 1976, as you say, but I still remember some great Bee Gees songs from the 1960s including Massachusetts, To Love Somebody and Words. Their later disco style songs are so good too, including this one of course and ones you've already reacted to, such as Night Fever and Staying Alive. There's a song I've got in the car and I listen to it a lot, it's called This Is Where I Came In and it's from their last studio album of the same name, released in 2001. The Bee Gees were fantastic with an amazing catalogue of songs. Great reaction, guys, thanks so much, take care now.
A better version is You Should Be Dancing Live 1979....has Andy being introduced, you can see all 4 brothers performing for a huge live audience.....it is Electric 🔥🔥
'What 'cha doin' on your back!' That's the line!
When they perform this the crowd of all ages are moving. It's awesome. One video of this they have their younger brother Andy Gibb singing with them.
Great tune best disco music
I'm 39 but I really like this song 😊
"Whatcha doing with your hand in your pants?" As a 5 year old that's what I thought, lol
"What's you doin' on your back?"
This kicks. Best song off Saturday night fever.
What a talented family. They wrote their songs and for other big names like.
Dolly Parton and Kenney Roger's, Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand, Dianne Warwick, Frankie Valli, Yvonne Elliman, Samantha Sand, Destiny's child, One True Voice and Celine Dion. In total they wrote over 200 songs.
Masterpiece
Good song for George
...to high to sing and us ✌️
"What you doin' on your bed on your back?" 🎶🎵 What you doin' on your bed on your back?" 🎶🎵 I had to look it up a while ago....
Siete bravissimi e pure non mi degnate di una risposta .....in ogni caso siete i migliori buona serata💚💚💚💚💚
In that fast part they repeat they’re saying, “Whatcha doin’ on your back? Whatcha doin’ on your back?”.
The real 'gamechangers' on their road to danceable R&B tracks like thatone were the songs 'Down The Road', 'Heavy Breathing' and 'Wind Of Change'!
Please do the Live version of Down the Road from their 1977 Here At Last Bee Gees Live album.
Please react to some of the Bee Gees 60s classics such a New York Mining Disaster, MassachusettsI Can't See Nobody, Words, I Started A Joke, To Love Somebody, First of May, Lonely Days.. and early 70s How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, Run to Me, and Alive. The Bee Gees made amazing music for 5 decades until the deaths of Maurice and Robin. Robin and Barry also did solo albums. Barry also produced Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton, and Diiana Ross, leading to major hits for these artists. Alot of major artists covered their songs.also leading to major hits. Barry carries on their musical legacy. He released his very popular Greenfields album during the pandemic.
Watch the video of this song with John Travolta dancing on a disco floor if you haven't yet.
Makes me dance NON STOP 🕺🕺🎶
This was the best song on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
Bee Gees❣️ Next do "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?". George & Patrick .. y'all b safe. Always .. Mona ☮️🤘🏼😊
You really should react to "Wind of Change." One of their best songs, in my absolutely Not-At-All-Humble Opinion
Should do the live version. Such energy in that performance.
Love this!
BeeGees !!!!! Best Ever.
So fun watching Bro on the right grooving and getting into this music. Some of us view the Bee Gees as a national treasure. The heart and soul they put into their writing and performance could stop a war.
If you watch the film clip for this you will notice Andy is singing with them. They're saying what ya doing on your back you should be dancing.
Thanks. This song brings me a lot of heavenly memories of early 1977. The LP "Children of the world" was a Xmas gift and this track had a magical and addictive effect on me. Couldn't stop listen to it twice in a row and dancing insanely on it. Percussions were played by Stephen Stills. Note that the song wasn't written for the "NSF" soundtrack. It was issued one year before.
see the most popular video, it has John Travolta dancing and all four Gibb brothers singing, including Andy.
the Bee Gees are the funkiest #Australians/blue-eyed SOUL brothers. for disco_"once you feel it in your hip-ya dip"
They're British. Born on the Isle of Man.
Classic Disco.
Are you suuurrre those were trumpets you were hearing????? Listen the the isolated vocals. They’re INCREDIBLE!!!! ....including their vocal “horns.” For an even greater appreciation of the Gibb talent, please react to the BEE GEES WITH ANDY GIBB 1979 LIVE SPIRITS HAVING FLOWN TOUR performance!!!!!
💜💜💜💜 bee gees.... beautiful song!!
If you are in the dance mood...
Blue Boy.Remember me.
Big dance hit in 1997
Remember Me” features few lyrics, but they are important to explain: “Remember me? I’m the one who had your babies, I”. The lyric refers to African-American maids raising white children for hardly any pay, as well as featuring scatting which occurs in the live version of the song: “ging, gi-gi-ging…”.
Yay Bee Gees! Check out KC & The Sunshine Band live from same soundtrack - they are a bi-racial group with great disco tunes & they all dance while playing;)
KC & Sunshine Band made many hits for dance floors. Thats the way I like it, Shake your Booty, I'm Your Boogie Man, Queen of the Clubs etc.
More volume please. 😁❤️
I was a kid during the disco Era. 9 to 12 years old. Me and my guy friends were just a tad young to be into pop music. What's funny is our dad's had stereo systems and Bee Gee albums. They were so into disco, which was thought of as more for teens and twenty-somethings. I didn't really think about that until years later. It was that whole generation gap thing going on at the time. Now people in their 40s 50s and 60s being rockers is common.
You got the 4 brothers
Awesome! And since you liked you have to check out Dave Grohl & the Foo Fighters cover of this song. They did it under the name “The Dee Gees.” They have mad respect for these guys & the cover was epic. RIP Taylor Hawkins 💔
Love my Bee Gees!!
He’s saying “what you doing on your back”
“Whatcha’ doin’ on your back” 🤷♂️
I could never figure out what that line said when it first came out.
Remember, back then lyrics weren’t so easily accessible like now
so you would have had to purchase the LP to get them!
You are going back LP’s those were the days!
did you just wink at me patrick omg lol
There was a famous club in New-York in 70-es called Studio54. In 1998 a movie was done about it called "54". It captures the atmosphere of that time quite good.
The whole soundtrack of "Saturday Night Fever" is excellent!!! Bee Bees wrote for others, too...
Hey guys. How can you listen to this a not want to dance? How about some more Linda Ronstadt? I know you loved her the first time. Here is a link to her signature song, “Blue Bayou” ua-cam.com/video/Kp9G0zkorio/v-deo.html. You will not be disappointed. 🌺✌️
yes!! "Blue Bayou" one of my favorite Linda Ronstadt songs along with "When Will I Be Loved" !
LOVE the Brothers Gibb. They are so much more than the SNF era. Have you done Heart Like Mine and Rings Around The Moon? ❤️
Yes, Lilly, beautiful Robin leads! Would love their reactions to these two great songs.
Would certainly be nice….but unfortunately, these types of channels usually only do their top hits🎼.
"What you doing on your bed". When I was a kid I thought it was "what you doing in the back".
It is back.
@@lilly5157
I’ve heard it a million times and I still don’t know LOL.
(Decided on “butt.”)
And I thought it was "What'cha doin' on your back?" My friend insisted it was " . . . on your bed" as you suggest.
@@frankiebowie6174 I looked up the lyrics, as I always do, because I am hearing impaired. I used to be devasted when an album didn't include lyrics. 🤣 There were a handful of artists I could understand nearly every word. David Gates comes to mind.
@@lilly5157 You are correct, it's definitely "Whatcha doing on ya back"
Please react to more U2.
1) I Still Haven't Found What I'm looking for
2) Running to Stand Still
3) Where the Streets Have No Name
4) All I Want Is You
5) Bad (Live Aid 1985)
6) Pride, In the Name of Love
7) Sunday Bloody Sunday
GREAT WHITE.... HOUSE OF BROKEN LOVE. ...FULL VERSION...🎸🔥🎸🤘👍
You should check out the live version of this with their brother joining in
Banda espetacular! São os melhores do mundo!👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👍👍🇧🇷
Get it George
Has Pat always had a "stick up his bum" when it comes to dancing. Too Cool For School? lol
You guys would love.. Fanny Be Tender With My Love, an
earlier Bee Gees masterpiece.
Great reactions!!! Enjoy Bee Gees'music is an amazing experience👍👍👍💖💖💖
Whatcha doin on yer back? Ahhh. is what he says really quick.
Watching JT dancing to this on thr movie is the best part. You're missing it✨😁
Really enjoyed your full album reaction on Patreon!! Thanks guys!!!!!
Should try the Foo Fighters version of this song, Off their DeeGees album. Should give more of them a listen since their drummer just passed away
The Bee Gees absolutely brilliant and the harmonies are unbelievable and I love all the songs. You asked about Dire Straits and there is another song I do not think you have reacted to and it is called Romeo and Juliet and I would recommend the live version. I love all your reactions and George just cracks me up
ill teach you the dance that they do in the movie its fun
You should be SMART and actually do a movie reaction to Saturday Night Fever on your other channel. Not only is it an incredible film, but shockingly, its not had anybody react to it yet, you can corner the market on a legendary movie..
You should also see Vintage SNL doing s skit about “Two Wild and Crazy Guys”…….Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd play the parts of two very eager , very eligible and very recent Russian immigrants. …….It’s funny😁😘❤️💙💛❤️
Try Andy Gibb song Shadow Dancing! ( The Bee Gees youngest brother).
Saturday Night Fever baby....yeah 🕺💃
❤❤❤
Guys a special request...a trilogy!
Robert Palmer 1974
Sailin' Shoes/Hey Julia/Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley
Is an amazing amazing trilogy!
Please?... and thank you!
P.s. this is his debut album. Most know him for Addicted to Love in the '80s. This is by far so much better!
Got to watch the movie
Watch the video of this song from the movie Saturday Night Fever. John Travolta is the dancer in the film.
Watch the movie Saturday Night Fever. Y'all will LOVE it....peace out guys....
I play this song when I'm in the dog kennel on Saturday night and sing " I should be dancing" while I'm giving 15 dogs a bath ....😐
Also in you should be dancing in the middle they are saying what are you doing on your back
What ya doin on your back, you should be dancing, ya
I wish you would have dine the video it's the only time you will see all Four Brothers on the same song and video
Sorry, my mistake. Patrick you almost made me believe you were chair dancing but it was just some enthusiastic finger tapping. So close, and yet, and yet not! Must try harder! love peace and music from East Anglia. x
VERY GOOD!! REACT MADDLEY BEE GEES LIVE MELBORE 1989.
