Great video. In fact, I love your repair vids. What amazes me almost as much as your knowledge is the way some of the equipment looks. They look like they are being used by someone that didn’t have to buy it. Great work though. Keep the videos coming.
You speak Very clear and details Thank you very much
Awesome!!!!! I needed this help! Thanks

Thanx mate, I didn't need a new clutch. There was a small rock stuck in it 🙃
Brilliant thank you mower medic 1 🤘
Nice explanation
Yep I have seen them get pretty thin on my FS 94 R's. I have also had an issue when you push the trigger you here a clanking sound the clutch and spring look good but I replace the and the clanking sound goes away. IDK?
I would of took a write brush to that, I've had the clutches hang up. Mainly on gas scooters with the 49cc engine. But they are pushing more rpms also, burning up clutches!
Thank u from Mariana islands:|~~~
Good video i just replaced a clutch on a FS90 but the head still won't turn on i wonder if the clutch is backwards or i need new drum thanks
I have smashed that Subscribe button
Can just the clutch spring be replaced or do you have to replace the whole clutch assembly
just subbed. my trimmer attachment on my km130 has lost most of it's power. the motor seems to be running fine but as soon as i try to trim some grass, the head seems to slow way down and won't get through even thin grass. you think it might be the clutch? thanks for any advice.
Does anyone know if you can use the clutch of a FS 90r on KM 90r?
I noticed that you did clean out the brown material in this clutch housing. Was that a normal thing to do, or only because you were videoing and just wanted to show the replacement. When I worked in the auto and heavy equipment industry we always would clean out that material in the video that looks like brake dust that has collected in pass usage.
Medic 1. Can't get my Husqvarna weed trimmer shatf head to spin once I removed the shaft. Can u help. I'm a subscriber
Same problem .....echo edger 225 .....spin just a little bit and stops .....
cheers mate
Does not the clutch drum need to be replaced? If the clutch wears that much them the drum has to be worn. Hasn't the rule always been " never put a new part on an old part that is just as worn as the part you replace"
Damn bots polluting another good channel.
You get spring looser just spring which work exelent i did this whith motor monki bike race cluch but less tension spring faster exeliration same any way
Sand slitly and inside cluch drum whit 120 paper beter grip allways
So I found the exact trimmer that I am working on...awesome, but I need help on the housing side, not the engine. Any clutch drum removal and installation videos???? thanks
That thing idles quiet :D
Plenty of meat all you need to do is adjust spring tension its look like not ceramic
What about the drum that clutch runs in ? Does it not wear as well ?
Rust atrophies metal generally. Consider rust like a coat of ice, if you will. It covers its skin and prevents movement.
However, soaking metals in a rust remover like vinegar or a name brand remover. Removes the rust allowing the springiness of the metal to do its job.
Do not fear rust.
With the right solvent and time metal can be restored, in many cases without the purchase of new parts.
im having the opposite problem. head always spins. I tried replacing clutch spring first. When i started it at idle, it worked properly. Then I gave it gas and head engaged...but after that it never disengaes. Even with the engine off, the clutch is not disengaging. I took it back apart and I noticed one of the clutch fingers is shiny, and the other is dull which indicates its never expanding. Any ideas for how to fix this?
Did you ever figure out a fix for this? I'm having the same problem, plus a wicked vibration. I changed cutting the head and inspected the shaft and clutch spring, all good...
@@jacksons81 yes i did. Look at 4:01 in the video. See the two bushings that the screws go thru? Those bushings rust up and dont swivel within the clutch. I had to pull them out, sand them down a bit to remove the rust and then put them back in. It worked fine after that. I used a punch to get them out, but it is possible they could get damaged trying to remove them. I would try and fix the originals first. But if ya break them trying to get them out, you wil need to get replacements. Hope that helps.
@@rbljacksonThe whole assembly was very rusty so I'll definitely try that, thanks for your reply!
How'd you know it wasn't the gearbox in the head?
Because at the start he was spinning it with his fingers
Geezus Christ! What a difference!
What would the cost be for a repair like this
Aftermarket clutch is about eight dollars and about 30 minutes labor so I’d say around $50 or less amzn.to/32tpuMS
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 here in Canada it would cost $110.00 parts and labor. $90 and hour for labor for me as a backyard guy would charge $60.00 so not far off. Looking forward to your saw build
Thank you
