  • With a #japanrailpass in tow, I finally made it to Utsunomiya (宇都宮), Japan's gyoza (pot sticker/dumpling) paradise, capital of Tochigi prefecture, and straight-shot north of Tokyo.
As is common throughout famous food cities in the country, you won't just find the star menu item filled with pork and cabbage. There are pesto gyoza, egg salad gyoza, hot and sour soup gyoza, statues with gyoza, gyoza photo booths, and even gyoza cider.
I don't condone the gyoza cider, but I do acknowledge it.
And per the video, here is the list of the "all-star gyoza," from left to right:
    - Satsuki (さつき) = the standard, with pork and lots of garlic
    - Kimchi (キムチ)
    - Yuzu (ゆず)
    - Yashu (野州) = just lots of pork
    - Ao shiso (青しそ) = flavored with green shiso (perilla leaf)
    - Cha bijin (茶美人) = green tea leaves are kneaded in the dough
    - Shimotsuke (下野) = made with Tochigi prefecture beef
